Brandon Makes It Up To Kim In His Own Way. Emotions Run High As Kim Finally Discovers The Real Identity Of Ninja Boy.
Brandon goes out of his way to make it up to Kim by tagging along for her errands on the weekend. He actually rides the jeepney with her and when he’s inconvenienced with having to pass the fares of the other passengers to the driver, he decides to pay for everyone, making Kim amused.
Steph goes in search of an apartment to rent and she negotiates with the landlady for the one within her budget. However, she’s warned that she’ll have to do her laundry on the rooftop and that the tenant there is quite a handful.
After getting off the jeepney, Brandon and Kim come across a street musician and after the latter tips him, the former asks what the deal is. Kim notes that she knows how difficult it is to be a musician since her father used to be one.
She takes Brandon to one of her favorite street food joint and he treats them both to a combo meal, fried rice and meat with soup. Steph goes to talk to the rooftop tenant and imagine her surprise when she discovers that it’s none other than Roni. She confirms the fact that he has only one polo shirt and Roni ridiculously swears her to secrecy.
Brandon enjoys the combo meal with Kim and even gets free soup in addition. Eventually, he escorts her home and thanks her for letting him tag along. Kim says she hopes he wasn’t bored and Brandon states that he could never be whenever he’s with her.
Brandon heads for his car after they say their goodbyes. He visits his therapist to consult with him about his nightmares and how he’s been having trouble sleeping. He asks for a prescription but the doctor decides to give him something to help him.
While Cyrus writes an apology message for his brother, Kim meets up with Troy alongside her father and she’s taken by surprise when he reveals that it was the Castillo family who had ordered for the media blackout to protect their children. Kim begins to wonder which one of them is Ninja Boy.
She steals glances at BMC on their drive to the office. Robert expresses his disbelief over the plot of Cyrus’ fictional story and he tries to throw more light on it. Roni gets agitated when he sees Kim Marie giggling with Walter about something. After Walter leaves, he tries to fish for information from Marie, worried that his secret is out.
Sec. Kim reminds BMC about the upcoming team building trip. After Brandon leaves to go and get a drink, Kim goes through a folder of resumes. Carlota finds Cyrus brooding over the past and she urges him to let go because he’s repaid whatever wrongs he did against his brother and dad.
When BMC finds Kim looking at the resumes, he figures that she’s been wondering why she had gotten the job. Brandon reveals that the moment he saw her, he knew that she was the one because she was least qualified and no doubt would work hard to prove herself.
Kim brings up the time she had been kidnapped in her childhood alongside a young boy. She recounts how the boy had taken care of her and made it possible for her to reunite with her family. Brandon sympathizes with her and as he walks away, Kim calls him “Ninja Boy”. Brandon turns back and bluntly tells her that she’s not him. He urges her to forget the past and make new memories.
In no time, a phone call comes in from Troy and Kim gets quite emotional when he tells her that he has proof that Ninja Boy is Cyrus. Jordy finds Steph struggling with a task Phillip had given her on her computer and he resolves to help her out. In the meantime, Troy hands Kim an essay Cyrus had written in school about the kidnapping.
In his office, Brandon reflects on his first meeting with Kim and how he had gone out of his way to make her his secretary in spite of the fact that there were other candidates who were much more qualified than her. At present, Kim meets up with Cyrus and shows him the essay, asking if he’s the one who wrote it. Cyrus tears it up, saying that no one can know about it.
Filled with emotions, Kim hugs him. She reveals that she was the girl he had been kidnapped with, and that she hopes they’ll be able to help each remember what happened. At home, Robert excitedly tells his wife that Cyrus will be naming a character after him in his new novel.
Kim thanks Cyrus for everything and recalls their last memory together all those years ago. Meanwhile, Brandon reflects on how his parents had insisted for their attorney to establish the media blackout in order to protect their son. Read Next Episode on What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim Episode 9
