Samuel Makes A Heartbreaking Confession. Patrick Digs Deeper Into The Mystery of Ingrid. Olivia’s Obsession Gets Out of Control.
The episode begins with Samuel arriving home to find his wife in a good mood upstairs, smiling to herself in front of the mirror. The song she’s blasting irritates him and he tries in vain to get her to turn it down. Samuel notices a pen with a red stain lying on a book.
Just then, news comes on TV regarding the mürder of Tessie and Samuel’s attention is drawn back to the red stained pain. Upon realizing that it’s blood, he confronts Ingrid and she justifies her actions, saying that now he knows what happens if he cheats on her.
Samuel tells her he wasn’t having an affair with Tessie but Ingrid doesn’t buy it. Ingrid declares that Samuel, together with Mia are hers alone and she there’ll be hell to pay if anyone gets in her way.
Samuel criticizes how she’s been molding their daughter into her image and Ingrid snubs him and carries on. Without warning, Samuel snaps and attacks his wife, strangling her. Ingrid falls and tumbles down the stairs.
She hits her head and is rendered unconscious. At present, Samuel continues to lament over how he k!lled his wife and the shocking thing is that, Mia was a witness to it but never said anything.
As Patrick continues to spy, Olivia catches her and makes her go inside with her. Another flashback reveals how Samuel had hidden Ingrid’s body and later dumped in the river.
Back to the present, Patrick asks him why he also tried to strangle and he laments that he didn’t want her to become a monster like her mother. A moment later outside, Eden charges Patrick to keep everything he heard a secret. She dismisses him to talk to Olivia.
Upon arriving home, Patrick finds Mia deep asleep with a bottle clutched in her hand and he takes it, staring at her. The next morning during breakfast, Vincent receives a phone call from Erika and he excitedly tells Madeth about her proposal to invest in their company.
In the meantime, Patrick keeps a watchful eye on Eden, and he takes advantage of an opportunity to go through her files and her phone which she left behind. While Olivia handles her knife collection, Vincent informs Mia of the good news.
Mia decides to celebrate since the partnership will mean that he’ll have to leave Maravida for Manila. Vincent’s countenance falls at that as he wonders if he can leave Gemma behind. Eden is worried to realize that her phone is missing.
She asks her son to call it and when it doesn’t go through, she calls the office and decides to head over there to look for it. Patrick spies and as soon as Eden drives away, he shows up to deliver the phone to her son. He then asks for a drink and Emman takes him inside.
Patrick takes advantage to snoop around some more and he reads a short piece from a notebook. He asks Emman about it and he reveals that it’s his mother’s, and she løves writing. Eden searches the nurse station for her phone but comes up short.
When she returns home, Emman gives her the phone and informs her who brought it. Speaking of, Patrick compares the writing from Eden’s book to that of Ingrid’s, and his suspicion increases as he notices a striking resemblance to the writing style.
In no time, he receives a phone call from Gemma, telling him that someone took Samuel. And of course it turns out to be Olivia who’s stashed the poor old man in a room somewhere. When Patrick informs Mia, she tells him that she doesn’t care.
Vincent has a talk with Gemma as to whether she’s open to live in Manila. At Ok Hospital, Eden figures out who took Samuel and with the doctor’s permission, she takes Patrick along to help. Olivia tells Samuel of her plan to take him to a farmhouse she owns.
Eden storms into the house with Patrick and Olivia tries to stop them from taking Samuel. After Patrick calls the hospital to report it, it doesn’t take long for the authorities to get involved. Olivia is arrested by the police while Samuel is taken back to the hospital.
When Patrick updates Mia and urges her to press charges, she objects to it, saying that it doesn’t concern her. Dr. Anok discusses the recent incidents with Ms. Li and he makes known how he suspects that both Olivia and Eden have been keeping things from him.
In an interesting turn of events, Samuel ends up dying and Eden asks Patrick to inform Mia. Olivia suddenly shows up and begins making a scene. Eden blames her for Samuel’s death. Ms. Li discusses with Gemma and some other workers, feeling sorry for Mia because she’s now an orphan.
Mia reacts casually when Patrick tells her the news. A woman in black lingers around the mess hall and begins painting on the wall where Matmat’s painting is.
After Samuel’s burial, Tommy congratulates Matmat for finally finding the door to conquer his fears but Matmat says he’s not been able to do it yet. Once they get to the mess hall, they see a painting of a butterfly and Matmat states that he didn’t draw it.
He begins to break down, saying that the butterflies that k!lled their mother has come back for him and Patrick strives to calm him down. Mia stares at the butterfly drawing in disbelief.
