Matmat Ultimately Faces His Fears. Patrick Discovers a Sinister Secret That Could Upend His Life.
A moment later, Patrick rushes to the doctor’s office after hearing what happened, and he’s glad when the doctor tells him that his brother acted like a responsible adult and saved the day, in regards to Tommy.
Matmat reveals that he tried to draw a butterfly but he couldn’t. He recounts how Tommy had counseled him to not get stuck in the past. He then goes on about how he had said that painful memories shape who one is, and that it’s okay to remember the past but one needs to learn from it.
In his room, Tommy breaks down, lamenting over the innocent lives that had been lost “that fateful day. Matmat assured his brother that he’s going to fight back now. Though he can’t draw a butterfly just yet, he’s going to be brave like Patrick.
Patrick gets quite emotional as Matmat states that they’ll no longer be moving around even during the raining season or their mother’s death anniversary. Dr. Anok then asks if he’s ready to tell them what he saw on the night of Tessie’s mürder.
In the meantime, Mia stares at Matmat’s drawing and she begins to wonder what it really means. As she strives to brainstorm the ideal concept, Matmat painfully recounts the night of Tessie’s mürder.
Flashback: Outside the Hernandez mansion, Patrick asks his mother and brother to head home while he goes to see Mia, promising to follow right away. Tessie carries on with Matmat and at some point, Matmat leaves her alone to go back for his brother.
When he’s unable to find him, he makes his way back to where he left his mother. Tessie is confronted by a faceless woman and she fearfully tries to convince her that she’s not having an affair with her husband.
The faceless woman stabs her just as Matmat comes upon the scene and freezes. The woman lays hold on Matmat and swears him to secrecy, vowing to k!ll him if he ever tells anyone.
At present, Matmat breaks down, saying that there was a butterfly pinned on the k!ller’s dress. When Dr. Anok and Patrick press for more details, Matmat breaks down as he reveals that the butterflies were two, a small one lying over a big one.
Patrick recalls the old Hernandez family photo he had found where Mia had been standing with her father and a woman who’s face had been scratched off. A similar butterfly was pinned on her dress.
Dr. Anok then concludes that the k!ller was a woman with a butterfly brooch pinned on her dress. Patrick makes a fist as the wheels begin turning in his head. He can’t believe that Mia’s mother could be the reason his whole life was ruined.
After reflecting on his memories with Mia, Patrick goes to ask Dipong for information on Ingrid and the guy states that he’s already told him what he knows. As Gemma wheels Samuel somewhere in the garden, he suddenly asks if the punishment the world gave him is over.
In the meantime, Mia sits on a bench in the garden as she recalls some dark memories with her parents, mostly how her father had tried to strangle her.
Gemma comes over and tries to convince her to go and spend some time with Samuel since he doesn’t have much time left. Mia however makes it clear that she’s not interested because they’re only related by blood and she’s never had any connection with him.
Eden and Olivia observe the scene and it doesn’t take long for them to get into their usual arguments. Dr. Anok comes upon the scene and calls them to order. Mia arrives while Matmat is talking to Ms. Li and she commends him for his heroism.
Matmat makes her greet Ms. Li and Mia tries in vain to convince him to go out to celebrate. Ms. Li comments that they’re behaving like siblings and Matmat points out that they don’t all have the same surname.
Mia declares that she’s chosen him and Patrick as her family. She excitedly proposes that they should take a family photo together and Matmat insists on picking his own outfit.
Ironically, Patrick frantically searches the mansion for the butterfly brooch. He believes that if the woman really was Ingrid, then she must have left the brooch to Mia. Patrick however doesn’t find squat, save for Ingrid’s old manuscript.
Dipong desperately tries to reach someone on the phone to inform them about something. Dr. Anok summons Olivia and Eden into his office to announce that he’s come to a decision as to who becomes the nurse manager.
In an interesting turn of events, Patrick reads Ingrid’s manuscript and he’s shocked to realize that the story has a striking resemblance to his past. He takes note of how the witch had “changed form”.
Matmat arrives with Mia and he announces their arrival. Patrick quickly wraps things up and when Mia comes to inform him of the plan to take a family photo, he tells her that he’s not interested. He leaves to go and check up on his brother.
Matmat excitedly talks to him about the family photo they’ll be taking but Patrick doesn’t give much attention to it as he tells him that he’s proud of him for being brave. Suddenly, Patrick decides to leave because there’s something he needs to go and do at the hospital.
Mia ponders over Patrick’s attitude and wonders why he’s avoiding her again. When Jason arrives with some food she had ordered, she questions him about his best friend.
Jason reveals that Patrick has the bad habit of hiding his feelings; he bottled up a lot from such a young age because he had no one to talk to about his struggles.
Patrick goes to see Atty. De Guzman to tell him about the new information he’s found, and he’s told that they need strong evidence to reopen his mother’s case.
Patrick decides to ask his brother to testify and the lawyer argues whether he can identify Ingrid as the woman with the butterfly brooch. And moreover, there’ll complications since Ingrid is supposedly dead.
Patrick speculates that Ingrid is alive and might have undergone plastic surgery to change her appearance and Atty. De Guzman states that they need to prove it.
