Mia’s Liberation Unfolds As She Bonds With Patrick. Samuel Is Haunted By The Ghosts of His Past.
The episode begins with Eden and Olivia bonding together at a bar, asking each other questions about their lives. Ms. Li decides to heat some food for her daughter once she wakes up.
She recounts Patrick’s visit and goes on about how she seems to have moved on because she’s letting other guys carry her around. Gemma recalls how Vincent had brought her home, appalled, and her mother lectures her for the embarrassment.
Meanwhile, Patrick joins his brother in bed and he breaks down as they take a trip down memory lane, reflecting on memories with his brother and mother, and it becomes evident that Tessie hadn’t exactly neglected him and preferred his brother to him.
Flashback: While the brothers sleep, Tessie turns to Patrick and and goes on about how lucky she is to have a son like him. She apologizes for leaning on him so much and promises to make it up to him.
At present, Matmat tries to console Patrick as he cries. In the meantime, Mia gladly sleeps with the beautifully ugly doll Patrick had given her. Eden and Olivia continue with their game and when asked about her husband, the former states that she left him to die. She then laughs it off.
The next day, Mia arrives at Ok Hospital and she’s pretty upset to learn that her class has been suspended. While lecturing Elvie about her condition, Dr. Anok quickly goes to hide as he hears Mia calling out his name.
When Mia finds Elvie by herself, she asks her about the doctor’s whereabouts and she claims she doesn’t know. As Patrick comes upon the scene, Elvie apologizes for the incident the other time, having come to the realization that she’s not her daughter.
Mia laments over how she had gotten suspended over it. She takes a liking to Elvie’s fur shawl which her daughter had given her and asks for it. She’s surprised when Elvie lets her have it in order to appease her.
A moment later, Patrick joins Mia as she stares at Matmat’s drawing on the wall. Mia is impressed with his talent and believes that he’ll do an even better job of illustrating her book. Patrick pats her on the head, thanking her for helping Elvie break the ties that bound her.
On her way out, Mia sees her father sitting on a bench and she approaches him. Samuel tells her that she’s her mother’s daughter and she can never run away from her. Mia retorts that she’s her own person and she doesn’t control her.
Upon her return to the mansion, she decides to cut her hair which her mother had been so obsessed with. Patrick arrives and asks about it and Mia states that she cut her hair to set herself free. Patrick teases her over how uneven it is.
In the meantime, Eden finds a creepy letter under Samuel’s pillow and she wonders who left it there.
Samuel sneaks out of his room upon hearing a haunting sound coming from the hall.
He begins to have a breakdown as a blurry figure in black passes by. Patrick goes out of his way by trimming Mia’s hair to be even and she gets quite emotional. Mia states that she feels different now that she’s cut her mother out of her life.
She asks if her new hairstyle is pretty and whether Matmat will like it. Patrick says it’s very pretty and his brother will surely løve it. When it’s time for breakfast, they all gather at the table and upon noticing Mia’s new hairstyle, Matmat expresses his disapproval.
He states that it’s ugly and she looks beautiful with longer hair. Mia gets upset as the guy continues scrutinizing her new hairstyle. A moment later, Patrick reluctantly agrees to take Mia’s car when she insists.
She also reluctantly promises not to fight with Matmat. Mia stares at her reflection in the car window, saying that it doesn’t matter what Matmat says because she really likes her new hairstyle.
Patrick observes her smilingly as she smiles to herself. Later, Mia isn’t happy to see a publicity stunt Vincent had pulled as he involves her father. Matmat comes over and Mia asks what she likes about him.
Matmat says she likes her long hair but it’s short now. Mia is annoyed and exasperated as she recalls the promise she made Patrick. Meanwhile, Patrick relieves Pogi and learns of how they had found Samuel passed out last night.
