Max & Gabriela Encounter Hidden Threats. The Team’s Resolve Is Tested In Battle As A Desperate Fight For Survival Unfolds.
The old man from the community approaches Andres and Miguel and asks them for help to treat Amado who’s injured. JB and Tomas hide their stash and take cover as Monching and his men approach, armed at the ready.
Meanwhile, Gabriela and Max encounter a group of hikers who had gone missing on the mountain. Claiming that they’re part of the mountain security, they tell them to stay put with the promise of coming back for them in the morning.
One of the hikers called Franco makes a ridiculous pass at them. When Rita finds her brother, she unties him and tries to convince to flee with her, but the stubborn boy refuses, determined to prove himself to the group by getting back the stolen money.
JB and Tomas lie in wait for the enemy and as they close in on them, JB gives the signal for them to engage, only to be hindered by a sudden episode of dystrophy. As Tomas engages, JB resolves to hand-to-hand combat and they manage to neutralize the enemies.
JB eventually eliminates Monching. Franco blabbers to his comrades about the bag of money he had seen the “mountain security” carrying. He makes known his pathetic plan to snatch it away from them.
After Miguel treats Amado’s wounds, he asks for him to be taken to the hospital first thing in the morning so he doesn’t die from blood loss. Andres and Miguel then get back on track to the exit point, only to be blindsided by one guy from the community who’s a supporter of Sameo and his group.
However, Andres surprises him and guns him down in an instant. When the old man comes upon the scene, they apologize, saying that they had to defend themselves. The old man understands and accepts some money from Andres and they carry on after he throws in a word of advice.
When Tomas asks JB about what happened earlier, he lies through his teeth, claiming that he hadn’t initially engaged the goons because he wanted to test him.
JB commends Tomas for improving. In the meantime, Benjie camps with his men at the main exit of the mountain, awaiting the appearance of their targets. The next morning, Max and Gabriela are woken up abruptly by shouts of a woman in distress.
They hide their loot before advancing. Coming upon Aira, one of the hikers being held at güñpoint by the goons, Gabriela and Max rescue her. The sound of gunshots alerts the rest of the team, as well as Benjie and his men.
Miguel takes a break with Andres and laments over how tiresome it is to redeem himself. He blabbers about how he had ruined his family with his drinking, adding that he might have k!lled his wife’s partner.
He was drunk back then and can’t really remember what happened. Andres plays devil’s advocate and tries to convince him that he’s not totally a lost cause.
