Saving Grace Episode 28

“Anna is detained on k!dnapping charges and faces a hearing where the opposition tries to portray her as mentally unstable.”

Carmen thanked Anna for forgiving Miranda, even though it was hard. She shared how close she was with Miranda and how they had been together all their lives. She told Anna how much Miranda regretted giving her away and the love she had for her.

She explained about the document Miranda had prepared for her and Grace’s departure, including the money she needed to start afresh, a revelation that surprised Anna. They were discussing her departure when Julius came to them and told Anna she needed to leave because Sarah was at the hospital.

While watching Ashley and her crew struggle to get inside the hospital, Sarah saw Anna’s family entering and quickly gave Ashley a subtle signal indicating she was heading inside. Sarah stormed in with Ashley and her crew, calling out for Miranda and Anna. Jessica asked them to leave, saying neither Anna nor Miranda was there.

Ashley insisted on going in, announcing that they were live and calling Miranda’s name, but Helena pulled her back and warned her to leave, saying they were not playing games. Ashley refused and wanted to know why everyone was together. Sarah wondered the same, believing they were not friends, yet now acting as a group.

Helena angrily told them to respect Miranda. If they were not there to show sympathy, they should leave, as they were causing trouble. Ashley didn’t believe her and retorted that they were pretending Miranda was dead to escape her crimes and gain sympathy, calling it pathetic.

Jessica slapped her for her words, reminding her that her mother might not be perfect, but Ashley was nothing compared to Miranda, no matter what she did, and would never reach the level of success Miranda had achieved in her career and life. She warned them to leave or face multiple lawsuits.

Sarah refused to leave and demanded Anna. Princess intervened, reminding Sarah how many times she had been told Anna was not there. Sarah asked how many times she was going to be lied to, saying they should all be in jail for a happy family reunion, a remark that earned her a slap from Princess.

Chaos erupted as Sarah and Ashley fought with Anna’s family. Meanwhile, Oscar was informed about the scandal at the hospital and that Anna and Miranda were there. Julius was helping Anna escape when they realized the place was surrounded by police. Carmen brought her car, urging Anna to get in so they could leave.

Anna hesitated, worried and unsure of what to do. Julius asked her what was wrong as they urged her to get in the car. While leaving, Sarah saw Anna and quickly informs the police to chase Julius’s car. Julius noticed and sped up, but the police eventually surrounded them.

With no choice left, Anna told Julius she was going to surrender and got out of the car. Oscar handcuffed her while Sarah looked inside but couldn’t find Grace. Anna was brought to the station, where people attacked her, pulling her hair and throwing things, calling her a k!dnapper.

She was being interrogated when Jessica barged in, claiming to be Anna’s lawyer and instructing her not to answer any questions. Sarah attacked Anna, demanding her daughter back, but Anna defended herself, hitting Sarah back. Carmen tried to console Grace, recalling earlier events.

When Anna and Julius urged her to get in the car, Anna gave Grace to Carmen, knowing they would be caught because of the many police officers. Julius and Carmen couldn’t believe it, but Anna’s priority was Grace’s safety. Meanwhile, Jessica defended Anna, arguing the authorities didn’t have strong evidence.

She reminded them that Miranda had already confessed to kidnapping Grace. Ramon barged in, showing footage from the hospital that captured Anna with Grace, questioning her about where she took the child. Anna denied knowing where Grace was. Ramon scolded her, saying she was ruining both her and Grace’s lives.

Astonished, Anna explained that Sarah was never a good mother and described the child’s condition, questioning if they would have done anything in her situation. She added that the child nearly died and asked what she should have done, seeing the kid crammed in a sack and her body covered in bruises.

Anna argued that if returning Grace to Sarah was what they believed was right, they were ignoring the child’s well-being. Her revelation left everyone speechless. Reporters stopped Sarah, asking how she felt. She said she was happy because Anna was in jail.

One reporter asked why she should be happy if her daughter was still missing, but Sarah dismissed it, saying what mattered was Anna being in custody, and she believed Anna would soon reveal Grace’s whereabouts. Anna was sent to jail. On hearing day, Patty testified for Anna, including the times she reported Grace’s abuse.

Sarah testified as well, accusing Anna and pretending to be a good mother. She claimed her daughter didn’t want to be with her because Anna had brainwashed her. Meanwhile, Carmen called Jessica to discuss the hearing as she couldn’t attend due to caring for Grace.

Grace overheard everything, quickly taking Carmen’s phone and searching online, discovering Anna was in jail. She sobbed, calling out for her mother. Anna was questioned by the attorney, suggesting that her adoption may have caused her behavior, implying mental instability.

Anna tearfully defended herself, saying she didn’t take Grace because of her past, but to save the child. Later, Jessica scolded Anna for letting her emotions interfere, warning that she could go to jail. Anna insisted they were portraying her as the villain and dismissing Grace’s suffering, saying they thought she was crazy.

Julius tried to calm her down. Jessica looked on, pained. The hearing continued with the  attorney pressing Anna, using her past to make her appear insane. Julius and Jessica grew frustrated with the unreasonable questions. Julius yelled, “Anna is not insane!”

Oscar brought a report from the social workers he thought might help Anna’s case, but Ramon told him not to complicate matters, reminding him Anna was already arrested. After a psychological test, the psychologist confirmed that Anna was mentally stable, though she might have experienced trauma, but was capable of rational decisions.

The attorney remained unsatisfied and suggested Anna’s kidnapping of Grace might stem from unresolved trauma. After presenting her points, Dr. Martin confirmed it was possible, and Anna angrily insisted she was not insane. With no further evidence from either side, the judge was about to pass judgment when Grace arrived in court.

“Mama!” she cried as she and Anna shared an emotional hug.
