Chito was being interrogated about Grace’s disappearance, but he kept denying any involvement. Oscar showed him the evidence he had and the bloodstains on Grace’s clothes, which matched the DNA from the blood on the sack Grace was found in. Chito finally admitted that he did put her inside the sack, but claimed the child disappeared afterward.
Oscar demanded to know where he took Grace or else he would go to jail. Having no other option, Chito confessed to Oscar that it was Sarah who hurt Grace. He revealed that Sarah beat the child that day and nearly k!lled her. He said Sarah was the real culprit, not him a revelation that stunned Oscar.
Meanwhile, Sarah was chasing after Grace, who ran off after seeing her. Trying to act like a good mother, Sarah told her to stop, but Grace said she would never see her again. The child told Sarah she wasn’t Grace but Bright. Sarah, losing patience, demanded the child come out from hiding before she lost her temper.
Grace, sobbing, insisted she was Bright, explaining that Grace was dead and she fell into the sea. She told Sarah her mother was Anna. Sarah, in disbelief that the child was choosing Anna over her, reminded Grace of all the sacrifices she made and how she raised her alone after her father died in an accident.
Grace, still crying, asked if Sarah wasn’t happy that Grace was dead, since she always called her a burden. Sarah admitted saying that but claimed she still cared and raised her. Grace reminded her of the abuṣ̌e and suffering she endured while living with her. Sarah angrily asked if Grace was mad at her and didn’t love her anymore.
The child replied she wasn’t mad, but she didn’t love her anymore. “You’re just Miss Sarah now. I’m happy with Mama Anna. You can be happy too, because I’m no longer with you,” Grace said. Sarah called her ungrateful and told her not to come back, saying she wouldn’t accept her again since the child wanted to stay with Anna.
She stormed off as Grace sobbed bitterly. Anna and Julius saw Sarah leaving. Before Anna could say anything, Sarah slapped her. Without hesitation, Anna slapped her back, demanding to know what Sarah did to Grace. Sarah furiously told her what the child said and claimed they were dead to each other.
If the child hated her, she hated her even more. “She’s yours now,” Sarah said. “You two deserve each other.” Anna told her she couldn’t just take a child and give her away like that, reminding her that she didn’t own the child. She walked off to look for Grace. She found the child crying, asking if Sarah wouldn’t come back and if Anna was now her mother.
Anna assured her that she was with her till the end and would never leave her. Helena and Charlie were discussing selling the inn when Erin overheard and asked if her mother had sold it. Princess joined in, asking about the money and guessing that Anna had it. Helena explained that Anna needed the money.
“So she can hide from the law?” Princess accused.
Helena said Anna needed her help, but Princess reminded her that Anna had wanted to leave them long ago. She accused Helena of selling the only thing left of Antonio for Anna. Helena said Antonio would’ve done the same if he were alive, as he loved Anna just as much as Princess and Erin.
Princess said their father was gone — because of Anna. Helena assured her that she didn’t give all the money to Anna and had kept enough for them to start fresh, but Princess refused to understand, continuing to blame Anna. Miranda called Julius to check up on him and Anna.
Julius explained how they managed to escape and was shocked to learn that Jessica was the one who tipped off the police. He told Anna about his phone call with Miranda and shared that Jessica was behind the tip-off. Anna couldn’t believe Jessica would do that.
Julius said they needed to leave because the place was no longer safe since everyone, including Sarah, knew about it. Anna insisted Sarah wasn’t a threat, as she had already handed Grace to her, but Julius told her not to trust Sarah because she wouldn’t let go that easily.
Oscar received Grace’s fake documents and confirmed it was her, though the details were different. He was told about a woman and a man who came to collect the papers, but no one could identify them. He ordered his team to send Anna’s photo for verification.
Just then, he received a call from his son Vincent, who said he knew where Anna was and shared her location. Erin overheard Vincent’s call and ran to tell her mother. Meanwhile, Anna noticed Grace was down. The child admitted she l0ved her mother but had to say all those hurtful things because of the abuse she suffered from Sarah and Chito.
She said life was very different with Anna since she finally felt loved. Helena and Erin tried to reach Julius, but the call wouldn’t go through. They rushed to San Rafael, hoping to arrive before Oscar did. Oscar arrived but told his team to wait because he wanted to confirm before requesting a search warrant.
Anna, meanwhile, tried to cheer Grace up, promising never to leave her even when her hair turns gray. The child smiled and told Anna she loved her. At the police station, Chito’s attorney told him there was nothing they could do unless Grace was found and testified that Sarah hurt her.
Furious, Chito asked what would happen if the child was never found. He said he’d be sent to jail in two days. Chito demanded he do something to get him out, but the lawyer left, saying nothing could be done unless Grace was found. Sarah came in, calling him Judas.
Chito snapped back, asking who the real Judas was between them. He accused her of getting him locked up and threatened to drag her down with him. They blamed each other, each claiming the other hurt Grace. Sarah called him the bigger fool, and Chito, enraged, hit her, causing her to lose consciousness.
Oscar began searching outside the house. Miranda, noticing him, quickly alerted Anna and Grace to hide. When Oscar arrived, Miranda opened the door and asked why he was there. He said he got a tip that Anna and Grace were there, but Miranda denied it. Oscar asked to use the washroom as an excuse while Julius tried to help Anna escape.
Grace’s jacket got caught in the door, and before they could free it, Oscar appeared. He ordered Grace to come with him. When Miranda tried to intervene, he pushed her down, triggering her pain again. He insisted on taking Grace, but Julius said he didn’t understand the situation.
Oscar snapped that Julius was the one breaking the law and thrêatened to arrest him if he got in the way. Julius held Oscar down and told Anna to run with Grace. They ran outside and found Helena, who warned them the police were coming. As they saw Grace trying to escape through the river, she slipped and fell, but Anna rescued her.
Oscar caught up, trying to take Grace from Anna. Both held on, and during the struggle, Helena accidentally pushed Oscar, causing him to hit his head on a rock and bleed. Erin was traumatized, reminded of Antonio’s accident. They brought Oscar inside, where Anna treated his wound.
Later, Grace came to see him. Oscar asked if Anna forced her to call her “Mama,” and Grace said no she wanted to. He reminded her that Anna wasn’t her mother, that she k!dnapped her. Grace explained that Anna helped her because she couldn’t live with Sarah anymore. He asked if it was because Sarah and Chito hurt her, and she nodded.
He assured her that both were now in jail. He said if she came with him, a government agency would take care of her until she found a new family. Grace asked, “What if they hurt me too?” Oscar promised they wouldn’t and said he’d watch over her. She said she couldn’t trust that because he wasn’t family and only family stays forever.
She explained how her neighbours always saw her being hurt but never helped and that only Mama Anna was different since she listened, cared, and protected her. Grace begged him not to take her away from Anna and, crying, asked if she must go, could he at least let Anna adopt her. She held his hand, sobbing, and Oscar could only watch silently.
