Saving Grace Episode 18

“Chito planned Grace’s kidnapping for ransom, but the police track him down while Sarah pretended to be a victim to escape blame.”

An officer informed Sarah that they went to the address she provided, but Grace wasn’t there. Sarah said they must have taken her somewhere else. They were still talking when she saw Anna. She asked Anna if she was going to give her daughter back or not, but Anna, without saying anything, was about to leave. Sarah grabbed her, and Anna slapped her.

“You’re really testing my patience. If you want trouble, I’ll fight back,” Anna said furiously.

Sarah wasn’t ready to back down, and Julius stepped in to defend Anna. Anna’s family and Miranda arrived shortly after. Miranda was asked to provide the new evidence she found on Anna — something that belonged to Grace. Miranda said she had lost it. People come in and out of the room, and she wasn’t sure if someone took it or misplaced it.

Besides, Anna had already explained that Grace had it before she went missing. Sarah couldn’t believe Miranda was taking Anna’s side. Miranda further told the officer that she’d call her staff to give him the unedited copy of her interview with Anna, they’ll find the details there and shouldn’t believe what they saw on TV. Everyone was surprised by Miranda’s behaviour.

Charlie was relieved to know that Anna would be released, thinking the police had solid evidence against her. Helena agreed that it was good they didn’t. Charlie then said Anna was Miranda’s daughter, which was why Miranda changed her mind. Helena was shocked that he knew and asked how.

He admitted he overheard their conversation earlier but assured her he wouldn’t tell anyone. He asked if she planned on telling Anna the truth, saying Miranda could help Anna with her case. But Helena said Anna didn’t need Miranda’s help since she could handle it on her own.

Charlie reminded her that Miranda knew Anna was her daughter and could use that to gain her trust and reconcile with her, especially since Helena wasn’t planning to reveal the truth. But Helena was determined not to let that happen because she didn’t want Miranda and Anna together. Seeing her behaviour, Charlie asked if Helena was hiding something.

Meanwhile, Jessica wanted to know why Miranda helped Anna. Miranda said Anna couldn’t go to jail since her conscience wouldn’t allow it. Jessica thought that wasn’t enough reason, believing Miranda should be the last person to trust Anna. Miranda pleaded with her to trust her on this.

Jessica still didn’t understand what Anna had that made both Miranda and Julius defend her. Anna was taken home by Helena, and Miranda got a call from Carmen, who asked her to come to Manila as she knew who tampered with the episode. At home, Helena hoped Anna had learned her lesson and advised her not to go near Miranda again.

Miranda was rewarded with a contract renewal after her show’s success with Anna’s interview and was told she’d be given a lifetime award by the Asian Essence Awards — making her the youngest to receive it. Later, Carmen excitedly told Miranda that her fortune teller was right, reminding her that he predicted this would be her best year ever.

But seeing Miranda’s lack of joy, Carmen asked what was wrong. Miranda, sobbing, said she had done something terrible — she had ruined her own daughter’s life. She revealed to Carmen that Anna was her daughter but that she couldn’t tell her because Anna would hate her. Carmen hugged her, consoling her broken friend.

The next day, Miranda received a call from an unknown man claiming he had Grace. Miranda wondered how he got her number, but he told her to bring five million if she wanted to see the child alive. Anna spotted Oscar inside the inn and asked what he was doing there.

He pretended to be looking for something but Anna reminded him about answering their questions and asked how long he’d keep following her, and Oscar replied, “Until we find Grace or have you found her already?” he asked accusingly. He then received a call informing him that the supposed kidnapper was demanding ransom.

Anna spoke with Julius, and they wondered who was trying to take advantage of the situation for money. Julius thought this could help clear Anna’s name, but Anna didn’t think so because had a bad feeling about it. Chito was later seen making another call to Miranda, giving her instructions on where to bring the money.

Sarah appeared and asked what he was doing. He smiled, saying he was securing them a wealthy future and taking revenge since no one was on their side anymore. He reminded her about Miranda lying about the evidence and told her that if his plan succeeded, suspicion would fall back on Anna.

He convinced her to side with him, and she agreed, believing they needed to pressure Anna into returning Grace. Princess called Sarah, saying she’d give her what she wanted, and told her where and when to meet. She then tricked Grace into going out with her.

Around that time, Anna and Julius went to get Grace but couldn’t find her. Anna informed Helena that Grace was missing, and Charlie rushed in to tell them Princess had taken her. Based on his description, Helena said she knew where they might be. They all set out to search.

Jessica was going through Miranda’s things when she found the notebook Miranda had hidden. Julius’s father arrived, asking where his son was, and Jessica told him he was with Anna. She mentioned that Anna was still a suspect, and he confirmed that the last he heard, she was. Jessica insisted Anna was guilty and said she had proof. She handed him the notebook.

Meanwhile, Miranda arrived with the ransom money as instructed by the kidnapper. She demanded to see Grace first before handing over the cash, but he told her the child was inside a small house. She threw the bag of money as instructed, and Chito quickly grabbed it and ran.

Oscar caught up to him, and during their struggle,
he managed to unmask him — discovering it was Chito. Chito hit him and fled. Meanwhile, Princess brought Grace to the beach and was waiting for Sarah to pick her up. She first lied to Grace but later admitted she was handing her over to Sarah, saying Anna had brought too much trouble to their family.

She tried pulling Grace along as the child struggled to break free. Helena arrived and confronted Princess, reminding her they had agreed not to betray Anna. Princess defended herself, saying she wasn’t betraying Anna — she was only talking to Sarah.

Helena pulled her back, warning her that Sarah would report everything to the police. Helena said Anna was moving away from them, and Princess said it made no difference since Anna had already drifted apart. Helena replied that this time it was different — Miranda was now in the picture. As they argued, Grace ran off.

She bumped into Anna and hugged her tightly. Sarah spotted them and called out to Grace, but Anna and Grace managed to flee before she could reach them. Sarah saw Chito on the run and told him she’d found Grace, urging him to help her chase Anna.

But he told her they needed to run — his plan had failed. She refused, saying she wanted to find Grace, but Chito had to escape with the police still after him. Unable to go with him, Sarah hit herself against a tree to make it look like Chito had hurt her. The police later found her and took her in.

Anna was tending to Grace’s wounds. Grace said she was fine — the wound was nothing compared to what she had gone through. Anna apologized for not watching over her, but Grace assured her it wasn’t her fault. She told Anna she knew what consequences awaited if she returned to Sarah and promised she wouldn’t let that happen.

Anna assured her she wouldn’t give up on her. Sarah defended herself, claiming she didn’t know anything about Chito’s plans when she just bumped into him, and he forced her to follow before suddenly hurting her when she refused. She cried pitifully, wondering how Chito could do that to her.

Oscar refused to believe she didn’t know anything about his plans, reminding her she was his partner.

“Are you insisting Anna took your daughter just so you can cover up your own mess?” Oscar accused.

He demanded to know what they did to Grace, but Sarah denied knowing anything. Just then, an officer came in and informed Oscar that Miranda had arrived. Sarah was defending herself against Miranda, insisting she knew nothing about Chito’s plans. She told Miranda that Princess had called to inform her about Grace and that she had seen Grace with Anna.

Julius’s father went to his house and saw Anna immediately asking if she was the kidnapper. He wondered how Julius could defend a criminal, but Julius quickly stood up for her. He tried to explain the situation to his father, but the man wouldn’t listen and accused Julius of trying to play the hero.

Julius admitted it and pleaded with his father to help him, promising never to show his face again. He said all he ever wanted was for his father to be a real father to him since he had never asked for anything before. Unable to respond, his father walked away in silence.
