Anna arrived at Miranda’s house to tell her she was ready to give an interview, and Miranda immediately put her on air. Miranda began by asking about the notebook found with Anna. Anna explained that Grace gave it to her after she quit her job as a teacher. Miranda pointed out that the drawings in the notebook were recent and based on Palawan.
Anna replied that she had told Grace stories about her life in Palawan. She described Grace as a kind and caring girl, to which Miranda asked, “But that doesn’t mean you kidnapped her, right?”“I don’t understand why you’re pinning this all on me. Just because I was close to Grace . Focus your investigation on someone else, not me,” Anna defended.
Miranda pressed further, asking who she meant, and Anna mentioned Sarah and her partner Chito. She tearfully said she had tried to seek help from others to report how Grace was being mistreated at home, but no one believed her. She accused Miranda of siding with a mother who made her child’s life miserable and questioned whether Miranda would ever do the same as a mother herself.
Visibly shaken, Miranda said no — she’s not that kind of mother. Unable to hold back her tears, Anna revealed that she was adopted, which was why she didn’t want to bring more pain to her adoptive family — especially Helena. After all the love they’d shown her, she had only brought them shame.
“If you were given the chance, would you like to meet your real mother?” Miranda asked hopefully.
Anna firmly replied no. “She left me, which means she didn’t want me. She’s no different from Sarah. People like them don’t deserve to be mothers. They don’t deserve a second chance,” Anna said bitterly. Miranda could only sob as Anna unknowingly spoke about her.
After the interview, Anna was about to leave when Miranda stopped her to thank her. Anna was puzzled by Miranda’s tone, sensing something different in her demeanor. She hoped she had set things straight once and for all. When Miranda asked when she could see her again for a follow-up, Anna replied that she had already said everything she needed to and hoped this would be their last meeting.
Shortly after, Sarah filed a complaint against Anna, leading to her arrest. Meanwhile, Miranda was being congratulated by the board for how well the interview performed for their channel. As Miranda’s phone buzzed with a message about Anna’s arrest, Jessica quickly deleted it before Miranda could see.
Despite her professional success, Miranda broke down in tears, knowing the girl she had just helped expose might actually be her daughter. Elsewhere, Ashley was talking to a colleague who was watching Miranda’s interview with Anna.
He commented that Miranda seemed too sympathetic toward Anna, saying, “She could’ve grilled her until she confessed, but instead she let her talk. I can’t air something this soft.”
Ashley slyly suggested he let management handle it — maybe Miranda would finally get booted. The man reminded her that he was the management. She flirtatiously replied that since he’s in charge, he could edit the interview. However, he wanted to make it more sensational.
The next morning, Jessica showed Miranda the final aired version of the interview. Miranda was horrified to see that the content had been edited to make Anna look guilty. She immediately called Tommy for answers, but he explained that the final cut didn’t go through their usual team — it was re-edited by upper management for publicity.
“They can’t do this to Anna,” Miranda said, trembling, before rushing out — leaving Jessica suspicious about her sudden reaction.
At the station, Anna defended herself, insisting that her words were twisted. Oscar, the investigator, doubted her story and asked if she truly believed Miranda would lie to the public.
“If I wanted to confess to kidnapping Grace, why would I bother doing an interview? I would’ve come straight here,” Anna said angrily.
Oscar suggested she might’ve done it for attention or fame, like many criminals.
“I am not a criminal!” Anna shouted, slamming the table.
She insisted that everything was taken out of context. Oscar then asked her to explain why Grace’s belongings were found at the same orphanage where Anna was from. Anna was speechless. He told her to stop denying it, as Lucy, the orphanage owner, had already confessed. He advised Anna to do the same before Lucy got sued.
Julius suddenly barged in with lawyers, telling Anna she didn’t have to answer any more questions. He promised to get her out, but Oscar reminded him that Anna was being held for 12 hours for questioning.
Meanwhile, Chito met Sarah at the station, where she was gleefully watching Anna’s edited interview. He asked if Anna really said those things. Sarah admitted she didn’t say them outright but praised Miranda for making her look guilty. She was thrilled Anna was behind bars, saying now she could get her daughter back.
Chito smirked and said they needed to ruin Anna’s image even more. When Sarah asked how, he said, “We’ll make more money off Grace before getting her back — and we’ll use Anna to do it.” Sarah looked confused, but Chito assured her to leave it all to him.
At the same time, Miranda was on the phone with Carmen, desperate to find a way to prove the broadcast was fake. Carmen said there wasn’t much she could do and suggested Miranda talk to Julius. Miranda confessed that she had fired him. Determined to clear Anna’s name, Miranda vowed to expose the truth.
Carmen warned her of the consequences — the management loved the episode and was even considering promoting her to head of the news department. Jessica then told Miranda someone wanted to see her — it was Helena. Miranda, furious, rushed to her. Helena slapped her, accusing her of betraying Anna’s trust.
Miranda snapped back, saying Anna wasn’t Helena’s daughter but hers, and slapped Helena in return.The argument escalated as Miranda accused Helena and Antonio of stealing her child. but Helena denied it. Miranda threatened a DNA test, and Helena warned her to stay away from Anna.
Miranda accused Helena of ruining her life — that she lied about being Antonio’s wife and because of that lie, Miranda never got the chance to tell him she was pregnant. Helena pretended not to remember.
“Maybe you’ll remember if I slap you again!” Miranda shouted.
Helena warned her to be careful, reminding her what would happen if people found out she had an illegitimate child.
“So you admit Anna is my daughter,” Miranda said bitterly.
Helena claimed Anna was her daughter since she was the one who raised her. She argued that Miranda had no right to her because she had given her up. Miranda cried, saying she hadn’t abandoned her child — then recalled how her father had forced her to get rid of the baby.
She couldn’t go through with the abortion, so she gave the baby to her mother for adoption, hoping her child would have a better life. She blamed Helena for everything — saying that if Helena hadn’t lied about being Antonio’s wife, she would have told him about her pregnancy and he would’ve helped raise their child.
“You made me give up my daughter, and now you’ve stolen her from me too!” Miranda cried.
Helena finally admitted Antonio forced her to adopt Anna because she couldn’t bear children. Miranda was disgusted that Helena raised Anna with resentment and accused her of making Anna suffer. Helena defended herself, saying she never let Anna feel her hatred.
Miranda swore she would tell Anna the truth, but Helena warned her it was too late — Anna already believed Miranda accused her of being a criminal. She tells Miranda that she’s lost the right and Anna is only going to hate her. Helena called Miranda useless and warned her that they’ll fight till death if she comes near Anna. Just then, Charlie ran in, saying Julius had called — it was about Anna.
