Grace Faces More Torment As Her Mother Turns Against Her. Anna Steps In To Shield Her From Further Harm.
The episode starts with Patty telling Anna that her gut tells her Grace is covering up for her mother, plus that the man who came in seems suspicious. She wondered how Grace is related to him. Anna told her that from what she knows, Grace’s father is dead, and Patty asked her if she thinks he’s the one hurting Grace.
Anna reminded her about what Grace told them earlier and said even if their hunch was right, Grace would still cover up for her mother. Patty told her they’d have to do something about it since they’re Grace’s teachers. Sarah pleaded with Chito to take it easy with Grace as things were getting suspicious, and that’s precisely the reason why Grace’s teachers came to their home.
Chito quickly reacted, thinking Grace told her teachers something. Sarah told him Grace said nothing and that her teachers only came after seeing her bruises, but Chito still believed Grace told the teachers something. Patty and Anna went to the police to report the abuse Grace has been getting at home.
Sarah was trying to convince Chito that Grace really didn’t tell her teachers anything and said this wouldn’t have happened if he hadn’t hurt her in the first place. Chito got mad because she was making him look like the bad guy. He had to remind her of the things he’s done for her. He tried to get physical with her, and she slapped him.
Things got heated between them, and Chito told her he’s going to find someone younger and prettier than her. Grace consoled her mother, who looked miserable. At the place where she worked, some drunkards tried to misbehave with Sarah while she was taking their orders.
Chito had to step in to help her by fighting with the guys. The matter was taken to the police but got resolved quickly as none wanted to press charges.
Grace was having breakfast, seemingly having forgotten about her problems. Her mood changed when she learned Anna was leaving for Hong Kong. The girl hoped her teacher would be happy there.
A social worker came to talk to Sarah about the complaint filed against her for hurting Grace, and Sarah, who realized it was the teachers, got mad because Grace had already made it clear to them that she’s never hurt her. Sarah threatened to file a complaint against the teacher(Patty) because she’d been bothering her.
Grace came home and noticed Pipo (her pet chicken) was gone. She realized it was killed and saw Chito eating chicken. With tears, she asked what he did to her Pipo and he mockingly pointed at his stomach, saying that’s where Pipo is. She started hitting him and calling him cruel.
Sarah arrived home and saw what was happening between her daughter and Chito. The little girl bit Chito while running to her mother, telling her about Chito eating her chicken. Sarah instead slapped the little girl for fighting back at Chito. She started hitting her while the neighbors could only murmur amongst themselves without interfering.
The next day, Sarah was looking at her daughter’s wounds and looked remorseful. Chito told her she was the one who always told him to go easy on Grace, and now she had done this to the girl. She suggested they take Grace to the hospital, but Chito annoyingly reminded her that she was the one who put Grace in such a condition.
Meanwhile, Patty also arrived there with social services after filing a complaint for child abuse. They demanded to talk to Grace, but Sarah lied, saying she wasn’t around. Patty didn’t buy it and insisted Sarah let them talk to Grace if she knew she didn’t do anything wrong.
Meanwhile, Grace tried escaping but was caught by Chito, who put her inside a sack and placed her in a car while he left to wonder around. Anna, who was leaving for Hong Kong, heard a child’s cry. She noticed it was coming from the car beside her, opened the sack inside, and was shocked to find Grace there.
Sarah and Chito later came to check on Grace but found the sack empty. Sarah started asking around if anyone had seen Grace, fearing she would be in trouble if Grace ended up with the police. Anna brought Grace to her place, tending to her wounds.
She wanted Grace to tell her everything about the abuse she’d been suffering, but the girl still didn’t want to tell her and lied that she was fine. Anna, in tears, promised to help her and even told her they’d go to the police and tell them everything, but Grace started crying, fearing they’d return her to her mom.
Grace and Anna went to her father’s grave to say goodbye. She gave Anna the letter her dad had given her, which had the address of a woman named Teresa Lorenza, saying that was the address of her dad’s aunt, and her dad had told her to go there.
Anna asked how she’d go, and Grace showed her the savings she had made and asked if that was enough to take her to her destination. Grace started sobbing uncontrollably at her misery, and Anna could only hug her in consolation. Anna’s phone started ringing, and she realized it was time to leave.
She saw how sad Grace was and assured her she’d talk to Patty, but Grace assured her she could take care of herself. She hugged Anna, crying, telling her she’d miss her, then proceeded to say goodbye. She kept on saying, “Bye bye, teacher,” “Stay positive, teacher,” repeatedly. Anna quickly left, knowing she might lose control of her emotions.
Grace was seen singing while a fisherman warned her to go home as a storm was coming (first scene of episode 1). Anna, who was in a car leaving, saw Chito looking around for Grace and started chasing after him after he spotted her. She also started chasing behind him and managed to find Grace before he did.
Anna brought the girl to the bus station so she could take her to Quezon herself. Grace reminded her about her flight, but Anna told her not to worry as she’d accompany her first because she wanted to make sure Grace was safe. The episode ended with Chito’s shocked face as he saw Grace at the bus station with Anna.
