Grace struggles with bullying at school and a troubled home, while Anna tries to protect her and uncover the truth behind her bruises.
The episode starts with Grace singing a soft, lullaby-like folk song. Her mood quickly changes after the song. A grizzled fisherman spots Grace and worriedly shouts over the rising wind, telling her to go home as there’s a storm coming.
Before Grace could react, she hears a man calling her name and runs off, looking scared while trying to hide. She gets caught by someone from behind and screams. Suddenly, there’s a thunderstorm. Sarah, worried, runs to the police asking if her daughter has been found but receives a negative reply.
The bystanders start talking among themselves about Grace jumping into the sea, saying what happened to Grace could not be an accident and think someone might have intentionally pushed her into the sea. Sarah looks on, ashamed. The story flashes back to 2 weeks ago on “Teacher’s Day.”
During the school festivities, Anna is seen talking over the phone, assuring the person on the other end that she won’t miss her flight as she has everything prepared. Grace, who is late for her class performance, accidentally steps on Anna’s foot without realizing it. This action does not sit well with Anna, who looks mad.
Grace arrives among her classmates, ready for the performance, but gets mocked and bullied by them, who start saying she stinks. They hit her until she passes out. Their teacher arrives shortly to get them ready for their performance and asks about Grace, but the kids say she hasn’t shown up yet.
Anna’s friend asks her about her decision to leave for Hong Kong, considering they had a good time working together at the school. Anna explains that studying ornithology has always been her dream. She could not pursue it earlier due to lack of funds, which is why she had to work hard and finally got what she wanted.
She only became a teacher to save money. Her friend is sad because Anna was one of the best teachers in the school. She then jokes that the kids are scared of Anna, which is why they always listen. Anna giggles at that. At home, Anna is talking over the phone with her mom, who asks if Anna will be coming home since her sister is getting married.
Anna seems reluctant as she does not get along with her sister. Her mom requests that she pick up her sister from the airport so they can spend time together and wants Anna to reconsider attending the wedding. Helena is having dinner with her kids, talking about how she couldn’t convince Anna to come to her sister’s wedding.
Princess says they don’t need Anna’s presence since she’s been away from the family for 8 years and thinks they’ll be fine without Anna. Charlie gets mad at Princess’s attitude, saying that if he were Anna, he wouldn’t be at home either because of Princess’s behavior. They continue arguing until Helena shouts, “Enough.”
Anna wakes up in the middle of the night after having a nightmare where her dad jumps into the sea to save her, resulting in his death. Helena talks to Charlie and tells him she didn’t like the way he spoke to Princess, knowing she’s pregnant. He says he couldn’t bear hearing her words about Anna, which is why he reacted that way, and assures Helena it won’t happen again.
They both discuss how they worked hard, including Anna’s help, to ensure a better life and the success of their business after Anna’s father passed away. At Bagong Buhay Elementary School, the principal requests Anna to take over Teacher Thelma’s class as she is on maternity leave and tells her to pay more attention to Grace, one of Thelma’s students, as the girl is stubborn.
Grace is being bullied again by her classmates, who make fun of her, saying her mom doesn’t love her. Anna arrives, and the kids quickly tell her that Grace has been fighting them. During class, Anna tells them she wants to meet their parents, but Grace doesn’t like the idea. There’s a group discussion, but none of Grace’s classmates want her to join.
Grace tells her teacher she can do it alone. Anna sees her sleeping, wakes her up, and asks if the class was boring. Grace says no and said she can do the work alone after Anna asked why she didn’t join her classmates. Ana lets her after seeing the girl was ready to do it alone.
At home, Grace does the chores and cooks. Sarah wakes up and asks for her coffee. Grace quickly hands it to her. She happily talks about her performance at school and mentions that she’s just like her mom. Sarah brushes it off, telling her daughter she doesn’t want her to be like her.
Their moment is interrupted by Chito. Grace bumps into him, causing his bottle to break. He doesn’t like the way she’s staring at him and hits her, telling Sarah to discipline her daughter. Grace applied lipstick to cover her bruise, but her mom quickly took it, warning her not to waste it as it was expensive.
She began telling Grace about how Chito helped her when Grace’s father died. The little girl told her mom she loved her and asked if her mom loved her too, but was left disappointed when her mom left without noticing her, who wanted her hair done. Anna saw Grace selling when she came to a restaurant to eat and witnessed her pick a fight with some ladies.
Grace came to Anna’s table, and Anna offered her her plate after hearing her stomach rumble. A loan shark came to Sarah’s house to collect a debt but ended up taking her TV when she couldn’t pay. Chito got furious with Grace for almost setting the house on fire while trying to help her mom during the fight over the TV.
He also got mad at Sarah for interfering and told them he would no longer provide for them. Sarah followed him, begging him to change his mind, while Grace could only cry at her misery. At the elementary school, Grace sat beside Anna, who asked why she didn’t join her classmates.
Grace said if she did, no one would sit with her(Anna). Anna noticed the girl eyeing her snack and asked if she had one; Grace lied that she was full. Anna offered her a spare snack, which Grace happily accepted. While talking, one of Grace’s classmates accused her of stealing money. The principal got involved and called their parents.
The girls started fighting again over the money, and Grace fell, becoming unconscious. Anna showed concern, telling her the matter was resolved as the classmate had found her money. She took care of Grace, combing her hair—a gesture that moved Grace to tears since her mother had never done that.
Grace hugged Anna, thanking her. Anna noticed her bruises and hugged her consoling her.Anna and Patty later visited Grace’s home to ask Sarah about the bruises. Sarah lied, saying Grace had fallen from the swing. Patty didn’t believe her and asked Grace, who defended her mom, saying she loved her and would never hurt her.
Anna observed the mother and daughter, realizing they were lying. As they were about to leave, Chito arrived, asking what was going on. Sarah explained that Grace’s teachers had come to ask some questions. Chito tried to get close to Anna, but she left before anything embarrassing could happen. The episode ends with Anna appearing deep in thought, as if she has something on her mind.
