Edward Has A Firsthand Experience of His Mother’s Wickedness. Jane’s Fight For Justice Leads To An Unfortunate Incident.
Jane receives inspiration from her mother’s spirit to keep pressing on. Edward helps Ofelia up and Jane directs them to the glass window. Meanwhile, Elias notifies Patricio and the ghosts about the fire from the building near the mansion and they hurry over to see Jane crying out for help.
Patricio breaks the glass with a high-pitched scream, enabling Jane and the others to escape from the burning building. The next morning, Edward reconciles with Ofelia and he’s shocked to discover that the person who started the fire was his real father.
What hurts the most is the fact that he’s a henchman of his mother. Speaking of, Andrea calls Anton to ask if he really did his job right last night since she’s not seen any news of the deaths of Edward, Jane and Ofelia. Anton states that it’s over since Edward hasn’t come home until now.
Robert comes over to ask of his son’s whereabouts and she drops the call and lies through her teeth. Diana and Patricio consider helping Jane avoid any further danger in the future. The latter asks for the big boss’ approval and it’s made evidently clear that they shouldn’t interfere any longer.
Jane comes over to lament about her near death experience. She resolves to keep fighting and Diana assures her that she won’t be alone. Robert can’t help but to get worried since no one has been able to get into contact with Edward.
As he wonders where he is, Edward materializes and his father is alarmed to see the state that he’s in. He asks what happened and Edward says he’s tired and needs to rest. A moment later, Edward reflects on some memories with his mother.
Andrea comes over supposedly to check up on him and he indulges her. Jane talks to the press about the insurance scam and she implicates Andrea. At the Montemayors, Eileen notifies her mother about the press conference and she assures her that no one will be able to tear their family apart.
Interestingly, Jane changes her statement by declaring that the woman in the CCTV footage isn’t Andrea. This comes as a surprise to Edward. He goes to see her at home, only to learn that Anton had kidñappéd Monmon.
Edward wants them to expose the truth nonetheless but Jane doesn’t want to risk it. Later, Andrea heads over to the place Anton has Monmon. The gloves come off as she makes a video call to warn Jane to remain silent for her brother’s sake.
Edward confronts Eileen about their mother’s whereabouts and she plays dumb and stupid. Jane then implores her to tell them where her mother is hiding her brother. Again, Eileen denies knowing anything and Edward and Jane try in vain to reason with her.
Later, Eileen asks Andrea to let the child go but she refuses to budge, claiming that everything she’s been doing is for her. Eileen buys into her insanity as she promises to fix things. At the Evergreen mansion, Jane frets over her brother’s safety, suspecting that Eileen lied before.
Madam Diana comes over to reveal that she knows where Andrea is keeping her brother. Celine and the others remind her of the consequences of deliberate meddling. Diana gets quite emotional, saying that she’s ready to pay the price. She reveals the location and urges Jane to be careful before disappearing to purgatory. Read Final Episode in Love In 40 Days
