The show begins with Kimberly taking charge of the launch of Prime Alpha’s latest medication called Heartex. On the phone, she asks the elegant big boss for his ETA. Sarah is caught up in heavy traffic as she drives some distinguished guests to the event, and on the phone, Kim gives her some handy directions so much that she begins to wonder if she’s an AI or something.
Once Kim is off the phone, she makes pleasantries with some other guests. Dr. Villa warns her about the actions of an employee that could jeopardize Prime Alpha’s good reputation. He reveals that there will be an internal investigation and Kim urges him to hold his horses; she promises that they’ll take the necessary measures to ensure that it doesn’t happen again, and that the culprit will be dealt with.
Brandon Manansala Castillo, better known as “BMC”, gets off the chopper and makes his way to the launch. He ignores the prattles of his subordinate but then when the guy mentions that his hair looks messy, Brandon stops and stares at the mirror.
Gloating, he declares that he looks perfect. He struts into the conference hall and he basks in the glory as all eyes and cameras turn on him. BMC takes his seat and after his girlfriend joins him, he asks Kim to get her flowers and she does so personally in spite of her allergy.
After being introduced, BMC gets on the stage and there’s a brief awkward moment when his speech isn’t displayed on the teleprompter due to technical issues. Nevertheless, he effortlessly unveils Heartex with his usual flair, having memorized his speech beforehand.
On the drive home, BMC is taken by surprise when Kim tells him that she’s resigning for personal reasons. Now it’s Kim’s turn to be surprised when the boss doesn’t object. At home, Kim reflects on the past and a moment with a close friend she calls “ninja boy”. She looks forward to having more time on her hands to find him.
Meanwhile, Brandon begins to wonder what’s wrong with secretary Kim. Philip says she’s probably going through something and he needs to help her because they can’t afford to lose her.
Brandon declares that he knows how to stop her.
The next day, BMC carries on the first order of business by firing Greg for resorting to bribing to speed up the approval of Heartex. He gives Kim a chance to reconsider her resignation only for her to blow him off. Later, Brandon whines to his mother about Kim’s decision to resign and she states that he can’t let that happen.
Kim briefs Brandon about her assessment for a chain of drugstores they’re planning to acquire. Brandon brings up her resignation and makes her detail out her real reason for wanting to leave. Kim comes up with some preposterous excuse, eventually stating that she needs time for herself and wants to get married.
Brandon blurts out that she should marry him and Kim is dumbfounded for a moment until he takes back his words. Reaffirming her resignation, Kim assures Brandon that she’ll ensure a smooth handing over. She gets on with it after he shortlists three candidates as her replacement.
As Brandon works out at the gym, a young lady throws herself at him and he rejects her with ridicule. Philip comes over and urges him to ease up. Brandon scoffs, saying that courtship is for those who aren’t important. He calls Roni on the phone and asks him to check something regarding secretary Kim.
