Dadi asks, “Is this true? Did you try to send Lalon to jail to break Appu’s marriage?” Shubh denies it, saying it’s a lie. Anjana says it’s true, adding that the commissioner came and saved Appu’s life. She questions Shubh, asking why he did this and whether he considers them inferior. She wonders what wrong they committed by choosing Lalon for Appu. She reminds him that they have no real status and only stay in the house because of their parents.
Anirudh tells Jhanak not to mind his parents’ words. He then warns Shrishti that if she keeps blaming others, one day she will be blamed too. He advises her to learn from Shubh’s mistake, pointing out that Lalon forgave him, or else he would have been in jail. Mimi asks Anirudh if he isn’t ashamed to say such things. He replies that there’s no shame in speaking the truth.
Shubh still insists that it isn’t true, but Anirudh says he has hurt him a lot. He adds that if his family hadn’t been there to support him, he doesn’t know how he would have handled the shame. He urges Shubh to change and become a better person. Bablu scolds Shubh. Appu says she doesn’t want to stay there because the police might arrest Lalon. Lalon assures her that if she agrees, his mother will take them home.
Appu agrees. Anuradha then asks Anjana to perform the marriage rituals today itself, and Anjana nods. Appu says it’s better if she leaves soon, as Shubh and Tanuja are like sharp-edged diamonds that hurt her. Tanuja angrily tells her to shut up. Lal says they won’t attend the rituals. Bipasha argues that no one can stay in the house without Shubh’s support. Choton disagrees, saying everyone earns and manages their own expenses. He insists that Shubh’s wrongdoing won’t be justified.
Choton wonders what he will tell Lalon and his friends, as they already know the truth. He remarks that Shubh was lucky that the commissioner remembered Lalon’s father’s favors and saved him. He emphasizes that even poor people have integrity. Then, he asks Anjana to prepare for Appu’s bidaai (farewell ceremony). Appu eagerly agrees. Anjana asks if Appu will never return to her maternal home. Lalon says she can visit, but he himself won’t step inside. He tells them they are welcome to come and pick her up or he will drop her at the door, but he won’t enter.
Anirudh says he will stay behind. Arshi argues with him, and he tells her she is free to leave if she wants. He insists that this is a special ritual and that Appu is his elder sister. Arshi accuses him of wanting to stay because of Jhanak. Anirudh shouts at her. Jhanak steps in and asks why she is so insecure. She reminds Arshi that she is already this family’s daughter-in-law, and even though her marriage was incomplete, everyone accepts her as Anirudh’s wife.
Arshi angrily tells Jhanak to shut up, but Jhanak refuses. She declares that she doesn’t depend on Arshi for anything, so she should think before speaking. She also reminds her that the police serve both the rich and the poor. At night, Anjana expresses her sadness, saying she can’t see Appu well and won’t be able to stay in her in-laws’ house after the rituals. She feels heartbroken that despite being part of such a big family, there’s no one to bless Appu as she starts a new life.
Dadi blesses Appu. Anuradha mentions that they will try to hold the bou bhat (post-wedding meal) in a nearby school and invites everyone. She assures them that Lalon will work hard to give Appu a good life. Dadi tells Appu she is welcome to visit anytime. Appu questions why she won’t visit her in-laws’ house—whether it’s because they are poor. Dadi denies it, saying she is just getting old and can’t travel alone.
Appu refuses to believe her and insists that the real reason is that Shubh will get angry if she visits. She recalls how her father always taught her to tell the truth. Anirudh assures Appu that he and Choton will come to visit her. He mentions that Choton has gone to buy a surprise gift for her. Excited, Appu asks him to bring Meenu along as well. She then turns to Jhanak and says she knows Jhanak will go to Mumbai and never return. Jhanak denies this and says she will visit when Appu does. However, Appu insists that she won’t return.
Jhanak tells Appu she is always welcome to visit her in Mumbai. Anirudh taunts Jhanak, saying she will be staying at Aditya’s house. Lalon says they will only visit if Jhanak shows them respect. Jhanak thanks him. Anjana wonders why Meenu hasn’t arrived yet. Bablu says Choton might have upset her again. Appu agrees, saying Choton always troubles Meenu. Dadi apologizes to Lalon for insulting him in the past. She now realizes that he is a good person and tells him to prove it to those who doubted him.
Lalon replies that it isn’t his job to prove anything to anyone—he will prove himself to his wife.
Appu excitedly says she knows the meaning of “wife” and laughs. Anjana comments that Appu is innocent and doesn’t always understand when and what to say. Anuradha praises Appu’s kindness, saying it’s rare to find such pure-hearted people. She promises that they will do their best to keep Appu happy.
Appu asks where Dadu is. Dadi replies that he is unwell and sleeping. Bablu gets emotional and starts crying. Appu comforts him and promises to visit him at home. She gets teary-eyed and tells him to take care of himself and stay happy. Bablu thanks Lalon for taking care of Appu. She then declares that she will get Choton and Meenu married, making everyone smile. Lalon says he will invite Choton for the bou bhat. Anuradha insists that he must come.
Jhanak wonders why Meenu hasn’t arrived yet. Bablu offers to call her. Meanwhile, Appu starts feeling emotional and says she doesn’t want to leave her home. She wonders how she will live without her family. Lalon reassures her, saying she now has two homes and can visit whenever she wants. Dadi then brings out a plate of rice for the farewell ritual and asks Appu to repeat the customary words. However, Jhanak stops Appu.
