In a surprising revelation, former actress Katherine Luna has finally spoken out about the longstanding controversy involving her daughter, Nicole, and actor Coco Martin. In an interview on Julius Babao UNPLUGGED on YouTube, Katherine addressed the long-running speculation surrounding Nicole’s paternity, shedding new light on the issue.
For years, rumors persisted that Coco Martin was Nicole’s father. However, Katherine admitted that she initially distanced herself from the situation, unsure of how to deal with the widespread attention. The controversy placed her in a difficult position, leading her to remain silent for an extended period.
One of the most shocking details she shared was that, at one point, Coco took Nicole without her knowledge while the child was under her mother’s care. This incident created tension between them, leaving Katherine hurt and feeling betrayed.
Despite the public scrutiny, Katherine clarified that she never sought financial support from Coco or tried to take advantage of his status. She explained that the embarrassment and uncertainty prevented her from addressing the situation after it became widely publicized.
She also revealed that Nicole has yet to meet her biological father, whom she identified as a Chinese businessman now married to an actress. However, she refrained from disclosing further details about his identity, emphasizing that he is not involved in the entertainment industry.
During the interview, Katherine also expressed deep regret over her past actions and offered a heartfelt apology to Coco Martin.
“I hope that one day you can forgive me. I want to thank you because, unlike other men who choose to walk away when told they are not the biological father of the child, you made an effort. You reached out, tried to understand, and even loved Nicole,” she said.
“But still, I am truly sorry for my mistake. I was young and made poor decisions, and unfortunately, you were caught in the middle of it. Your life was also affected, and for that, I sincerely ask for your forgiveness. I hope that one day, you can find it in your heart to forgive me,” Katherine added.
In 2005, Katherine gave birth to daughter Nicole Coleen Beatrice and initially claimed Coco was the father, a statement later disproven through a DNA test.
Katherine and Coco first met while working on the indie film Masahista, leading to their brief relationship. While their past has remained a topic of public interest, Katherine is now focused on moving forward and prioritizing her daughter’s well-being, leaving behind the mistakes of the past.
