Vidyachatur talks to his Badi Bhabhi, who argues without listening to him. Vidyachatur says no one has forgotten Yash, and he has spoken to his lawyer. She asks him to bring Yash home and taunts him about Kumud, saying she hid something significant from her father. She further states that she cannot trust Vidyachatur.
Kumud brings buttermilk for Vidyachatur, but he does not talk to her. She takes out a photo album of her parents’ wedding and shows it to him while her mother watches silently. Kumud tries to remind him that tomorrow is their wedding anniversary, but Vidyachatur leaves angrily. Kumud’s mother says he will not listen. She admits her mistake and acknowledges that she hurt him deeply. Kumud also accepts her part in it and decides to set things right.
Scene shifts to Saras and Kumari:
Kumari asks Saras what to do next. Just then, Badimaa stops Vidyachatur and reminds him about his wedding anniversary. He stands silently, looking angry. Kumud places a slipper near his feet, but he does not react. Saras watches everything. Vidyachatur remarks that he has seen how much his wife values him and leaves. Badimaa consoles Kumud, saying it will take time to appease Vidyachatur.
Kumari says Vidyachatur has gone, and Kumud was supposed to talk to him. Hearing this, Kumud leaves. Kumari then asks Saras what they should do next, but Saras leaves in anger. Meanwhile, Badimaa rushes with the preparations.
Scene shifts to Saras:
Saras runs after Vidyachatur and asks where he is going. Vidyachatur says he has some work to do. Saras offers to accompany him, but Vidyachatur declines.
Scene shifts to Kumud:
Kumud says she has prepared the mehndi. Kumud’s mother expresses doubt that Vidyachatur will attend the event. Kumud and Kusum reassure her, saying he will come. They hug her to comfort her.
Scene shifts to Saras:
Saras follows Vidyachatur. Vidyachatur stops and asks if he wants to say something. Saras replies affirmatively, reminding him that he had granted him permission to stay in his home. Saras then asks why he is not forgiving his wife.
Scene shifts to Kumud:
Kumud applies mehndi to her mother and suggests they should not invite the villagers because Vidyachatur is still upset. Her mother worries that Vidyachatur might not sit with her for the puja, but Kumud reassures her that it will happen as it does every year.
Scene shifts to Saras:
Vidyachatur says he has the right to express his hurt. Saras tries to explain and calm him down.
Scene shifts to Kumud:
Kumud confidently says she is more determined than Vidyachatur. She asks her mother to smile, which makes Badimaa happy. Badimaa encourages them to cook and feed Vidyachatur with their hands. Ghuman, observing this, laughs, calling them overly emotional.
Scene shifts to Saras:
Saras defends Kumud’s mother, stating that she has managed everything alone and needs support.
Scene shifts to Kumud:
Kumud decorates the house and uses a stool to reach a higher spot. Saras watches and offers her a chair, but she continues using the stool. Music starts playing as Kumud takes Saras’s support to stand on the stool. After finishing the decorations, she gives him her hand to step down. Saras tries to talk, but Kumud tells him Vidyachatur will realize her mistake while he stays in the house. She then leaves.
The next morning:
Kumud wishes Vidyachatur a happy wedding anniversary. She tries to cheer him up, but he turns away. Kumud’s mother appears, and Vidyachatur angrily stares at them before leaving. Kumud’s mother laments that every year, Vidyachatur used to fill her maang, but this year he did not even remember. Kumud assures her that she will make her look like a bride and hugs her.
Ghuman talks to a pandit. Saras gives Vidyachatur clothes, saying Kumari was supposed to bring them, and wishes him a happy wedding anniversary. Vidyachatur leaves. Saras realizes that Kumud inherited her stubbornness from her father and decides to work hard to reconcile Kumud and Vidyachatur.
Scene shifts to Vidyachatur’s room:
Kumud’s mother looks at the photo album. Vidyachatur enters and hands her a saree, telling her not to expect more from him. She interprets this as a sign that he will not sit with her for the puja. Kumud tells Kumari she will make her mother ready first. Saras and Kumud bump into each other. Kumari asks Saras if Vidyachatur spoke to him.
Kumud’s mother waits for Vidyachatur to join the puja. Ghuman taunts her. Kumud confidently states that Vidyachatur is not heartless and will come. Saras goes to bring Vidyachatur. Meanwhile, many villagers arrive unexpectedly. Ghuman welcomes them and reveals that she invited them to make the function grand, shocking Kumud’s mother. The pandit asks for Vidyachatur. Ghuman makes an excuse and leaves. Everyone asks about Vidyachatur, and Saras vows not to let Kumud fail.
