Kumud enters her house, recalling her recent conversation with Saras. She thinks about how he told her he has to leave, saying if not today, then it might be never. She reflects on her belief that he doesn’t care about anyone, even though he saved her father, and wonders if he really has any compassion. She wipes her tears, convinced that his eyes are filled with selfishness.
Meanwhile, Saras, walking down the street, questions why he should endure her ego if she won’t even look at him. He seems deep in thought. Inside the house, Kusum is tending to her father. Vidyachatur says they have work to do and urges everyone to get ready. Kumari brings tea and talks about preparing the qilla. Badi Maa scolds Kumari for making noise when her uncle is unwell. Vidyachatur reassures Kumari that he’ll give her money, and Kumud’s mother offers to help with any preparations.
Badi Maa questions Saras’ intentions, wondering if he deserves their efforts. Vidyachatur asks where the guest Saras is, and Kumari suggests they take “jijaji” (brother-in-law) along. Kumud interrupts, saying Saras needs to leave and can’t stay. Vidyachatur insists he won’t let Saras go until Sankranti. Kumud recalls Saras telling her he needs to leave.
Later, Kumud, Kusum, and Kumari are together in a room when Kumari notices Kumud’s torn dupatta. Kusum intervenes, but Badi Maa arrives, reminiscing about how Kumud used to prepare sweets at Kumari’s age. She hints that once Saras tastes Kumud’s cooking, he’ll understand her worth, saying, “We’re not just giving a girl but a girl with all qualities.”
Kumud listens silently. Kusum then asks Kumud about her conversation with Saras, and Kumud explains that she met him only for her father’s sake. She worries that if Saras says he doesn’t want to marry, it might deeply affect her father. Kusum mentions that Saras saved their father, but Kumud dismisses it, stating she never asked for favors from him and it’s up to him to stay or go.
Unbeknownst to them, Saras overhears this conversation. As Kusum realizes he heard everything, she worries about the impact on their father. She checks on Saras, who is packing his things and, when offered tea, declines angrily. Kusum returns to Kumud, saying he’s indeed leaving. Kumud is shocked.
Badi Maa approaches Kumud and Kusum, urging Kusum to learn cooking from Kumud. She asks Kumari to check on Saras. Kumari jokes, but when she returns, she confirms that Saras has packed his bags. They see Saras leaving his room with his luggage, feeling unsure of what to do. Kumud’s mother tells her that it’s her pride and ego that are driving Saras away, even after he saved her father’s life. She urges Kumud to let go of her ego and consider her father’s health.
Meanwhile, Saras is heading towards the door when Kumud runs to stop him. He meets Vidyachatur, who reminisces about Saras’ childhood, showing him old photos and sharing memories. Vidyachatur gets emotional, saying he never wanted to leave for Dubai but had to because of family obligations.
Saras reassures Vidyachatur that he’ll stay and look after him until he recovers, insisting he’s family first and a son-in-law later. Vidyachatur is touched, while Kumud, overhearing, feels emotional.Kumari then eagerly tells Mami about breakfast plans, playfully claiming the first serving of her handmade dhoklas. They chat about cooking, and Kumari mentions that mastering the skill can win hearts, excitedly pointing out the MasterChef India promotion on TV.
