Cardo says he understands and hopes that he doesn’t go through the same painful experience. He then vows to prove his grandpa’s innocence. The other officers look on solemnly as our favorite hero stalks off.
A moment later, General Dela Cruz comes over to introduce Major Opeña and her companions, lieutenants Villaluna and Lescano, as new members of Task Force Agila. After he leaves, Ramil and the others introduce themselves to the newcomers. Cardo is still sulking so he doesn’t acknowledge either of them.
When Opeña asks him if they have a problem, he throws her a cheeky answer, surprising her and the other girls. Opeña tries to confront him but Jerome subtly gets in her way and leads her to her desk which happens to be that of the late Major Romero. Lily calls Hipolito on phone to ask him about their scheme with the false witnesses.
Major Opeña calls for Cardo to ask him for updates on the cases of the special task force. Our favorite grudgingly briefs her about the drug syndicate case which has ties to Mei Lin and the first lady. Opeña argues that he might be misguided on the matter since his grandpa is involved and Cardo gets upset and gives her a piece of his mind before storming off.
In no time, Dela Cruz receives a complaint from the officer Cardo had brawled with at the bar the other night. After Dela Cruz summons Cardo into his office, Opeña learns of the incident and begins whining about how our favorite hero is arrogant and abuses his power. She says it might run in the family and his grandpa could be guilty after all.
Anyway, Dela Cruz scolds Cardo for his reckless actions, though he relates with his situation. Cardo has a few exchange of words with him over his grandpa’s case and when Dela Cruz threatens to suspend him, he drops his police badge and gün on the desk and stalks off.
Elizabeth calls Diana on phone to inform her of how Lily had sneaked out of the Palace last night but had lied to the president about it. Speaking of, Oscar scolds James when he fails to deliver his schedule on time.
Major Basco finds out about Cardo’s suspension and he tells his guys that they have to help him with his situation. The Agilas worry that Cardo won’t be able to help Delfin now that he’s off duty but Ramil points out that he had deliberately gotten himself suspended so he could do anything he wanted and not follow police protocol.
President Hidalgo calls Arturo on phone to affirm that he would be replacing Diana at the Palace. The rotten judge celebrates with his despicable family. On his way home, Cardo comes across a scumbag and his buddies drinking by the street and insulting his grandpa and the rest of his family.
Cardo gets upset and ruins their things, grabs the scumbag and makes a fist. The scene draws in a crowd, with Clarice watching with sick pleasure. Grandma Flora who had heard the commotion looks out the window and cries out her grandson’s name, compelling him to stop.
The entire Padua family have dressed up to head to the Palace and Captain Alyana shows up to ask Clarice to answer to the complaints against her. Refusing to budge, Arturo and his family taunt Alyana with their connection to the president. James calls Diana on phone to notify her about the documents he had sent her regarding the witnesses in Delfin’s case.
Diana thanks him for his help and soon informs Cardo who decides to look into the matter himself – he would confront the bank manager and the accountant. Arturo arrives with his family at the Palace and President Hidalgo welcomes them. The Paduas express their excitement meeting the president and the first lady and Clarice and Helen take selfies with them.
In no time, Arturo is sworn into office and Hipolito watches the live telecast with Jacob. He declares that they’re now one step closer to the seat of power within the Palace. The Dalisay family also watch the oath taking at home and Grandma Flora can only pray for the president to come to his senses soon.
Diana declares that the downfall of the president and the nation has begun. Meanwhile, Cardo wallows in misery as he drinks by himself.
