Juan Puzzles Sarah With His Preposterous Behavior. A Cat Fight Ensues Between Julieta & Sarah. Pedro Is Ready To Take Advantage Of The Situation. Cornelio Resents & Vows Payback.
Juan begins to blabber about how Sarah could be responsible for the fertilizer debacle. Sarah can’t believe it with Juan sermonizing again about how work is work and one’s private life is one’s private life. He actually supports gloating Julieta when she comes in with “proof” that Sarah’s fertilizer was responsible for decimating the crop. Julieta is so fearful that the prestige and reputation of the company has been ruined by this incident.
Nothing like this has “ever” happened. Juan agrees completely. Sarah and Julieta have a good cat fight. Julieta tells Sarah she will never give up on Juan and that Sarah doesn’t deserve him because she is a social climber just like her mother. Sarah is not pleased and warns her to leave her and her mother alone.
Julieta calls Pedro to tell him that things are rocky between Sarah and Juan so he can take advantage of the situation. Earlier, Juan had warned Sarah about Pedro wanting to romance her and how good he was at it. Later at a board meeting, Juan states that he sees Sarah’s inheritance as the only money available to get them out of their financial mess with the lawsuits that are coming. No, the indeminizations will not cover any of it.
Dante will draw up the documents for Sarah to sign. Pedro still disagrees suggesting that anyone could have manipulated the fertilizer to hurt Sarah. Simón suggests that maybe Sarah did it herself but Sarah has to convince him how illogical that is. Pedro doesn’t think that Sarah should be the only to pay for the loss. He tells a sullen Simón and the others that is what inheritances are for!
Juan tries to make peace with Sarah after the meeting but she doesn’t really listen to him. Pedro shows up. Sarah tells Juan that she doesn’t need him to explain things at the Avocado Congress with her tomorrow. She is an owner of the company and she has Pedro the vice-president going with her. Juan is surprised.
Sarah pledges to herself that no man will ever hurt her again like “Esteban”, her ex did. Dante is concerned about the Cornelio/Pedro incident. Juan wants to leave things as they are. He talks to Dante about using the company’s rainy day fund to cover their losses now until the time that Sarah’s inheritance can reimburse it.
Dante tells him he can take that move on his own as the president of the company. Juan decides to do so but tells Dante to keep it a secret.Juan tells Dante that he is having the fertilizer producer test the soil itself. Dante cannot believe that Juan is sacrificing so much for Sarah. He says she is the løvë of his life.
Dante also explains that in order to get full custody of Tadeo, Pedro will have to go to court and prove that Beatriz is not a good mother. He could always use the Cornelio incident. Mateo is still pursuing Julieta this time at the hacienda. He forces a ki$$ on her.
She seems to ki$$ him back but then tells him to leave her alone. It is over. Later, it looks like Mateo is back to drinking at the cantina. After Mateo’s visit, Rosa criticizes Prospero for ruining the prospects of her daughter. Prospi informs her that money isn’t the most important thing in life and Rosa is a selfish person.
She calls him a timid man. She had such better prospects. He asks like Severiano? Prospi thinks they still have time to get separated so they can find real happiness in their lives. Rosa is shocked.
Pedro comes into the stable area shouting for his horse to be saddled. He is upset because Cornelio tried to take his son and Juan wouldn’t let him take care of Cornelio.
Agustín suggests he learn how to be like his father, and Pedro turns on him and fires him for being old and useless. Lucas gives his brother a piece of his mind, only to be punched in the face. When Rosa arrives at work, she sees that Deborah is the only person in the store and that Beatriz is not there.
Deborah encourages her to fire Beatriz so that the store has a more “suitable” employee. She informs her that Tadeo is Pedro’s son and not Cornelio’s. They make themselves feel more worthy by slut-shaming Beatriz in their conversation. That convinces Rosa. Beatriz finally arrives with Tadeo in tow and the two women give her the old side eye.
Jessica cannot cook, cannot clean and is at her wit’s end in the real world with Brayan and out of her pampered existence at her parents’ home. She has no idea of what to do and nobody is available to help her!! It is a nightmare! Modesto catches Salvador reading old letters from his wife Irma. He asks Salvador how long he plans to keep the truth a secret.
Salvador is afraid that Paloma will see him as less of a person if he tells her the truth. Modesto talks about the difficulty of being a parent and suggests that Salvador allow Paloma to live her own life with the man she has chosen. Cornelio is back at the cantina telling Modesto about what happened.
He vows to take Tadeo away again. He will get even with Pedro some day. Modesto tries to talk him out of it. Meanwhile, Paloma goes to the cemetery and when she doesn’t find her mother’s grave there, she concludes that her father has not been honest about her mother. She later confronts her dad Salvador about it.
