Pedro Makes His Last Terrible Stand & Ultimately Meets His End In A Gruesome Manner. Juan & Sarah Have A Grand Wedding. A Series Of Unsettling Revelations Unfold.
Pedro explains to Sarah how he k!lled her father, Dante, and how he k!lled his mother, Aurora. Then he goes to Julieta, who isn’t feeling well and has her eyes half closed, and reminisces about tørtüring Bryan and provoking Don Augustin’s heart attack. At the ranch, Juan thinks they are the only ones who can stop Pedro, even as Lucas and Mateo insist they need to call the cops again.
Juan is afraid Pedro will k!ll both women if he realizes he is cornered. Pedro decides that Sarah can choose where she wants to die. How kind of him. San Juan can’t save them now. Sarah asks Pedro to let Julieta go, she is sick and she never did anything against him. When Pedro allows Julieta to talk, she screams for help and he says she broke the rules, so now she has to die. Sarah continues trying to divert Pedro’s attention from Julieta; she is the one he should go against since she is the one who rejected him. Pedro says OK, he will listen to her.
Pedro grabs Sarah, pointing the guñ at her. “Aurora” shows up, encouraging Pedro to k!ll both women, and he gets restless, just in time for Deborah to arrive, holding a gün with one hand and Tadeo’s hand with the other (I hope that Tadeo doesn’t believe in reincarnation, because if the kid lives through all of this, he will have nightmares in this life and the next). Deborah urges Pedro to drop the guñ, pointing her wëâpon at Tadeo’s head… Pedro directs his güñ towards Deb now, it’s quite the Mexican standoff (you called it, Doris!).
Sarah takes advantage of Pedro’s lack of attention to grab a big log conveniently placed behind the hay stacks and she kicks Pedro in the back, almost at the same time as Tadeo yells to warn Pedro. Sarah manages to hit Pedro twice and he falls to the ground so she and Julieta grab Tadeo and leave, soon followed by Deborah. Pedro stands and runs after them. Outside they meet the brothers, Pedro is now pointing the guñ gun at everyone. Julieta almost faints in Mateo’s arms. Pedro mocks them a bit just for fun. Juan starts begging Pedro to stop, trying to remind him of the happy moments they all lived together. Simon mentions Tadeo and everyone begs Pedro to stop, but all that Pedro can see is Aurora’s ghost looking at him. Juan asks him to let the others go since this is between the two of them.
He tries to make his brother remember not only their dark past, but also the life they had with Catalina and Severiano. Pedro thinks he plans to manipulate him; they all hate him, all he has to do is decide who to start with… maybe Lucas? And he shoots his younger brother in the shoulder! Deborah screams Pedro’s name and shoots, too, hitting him straight in the heart (if he actually had one). But Pedro doesn’t seem too bothered, he keeps shooting towards the others and sees Aurora call for him to follow her where everything started. He seems to listen because he leaves running.
Lucas looks really bad and Julieta has fainted, so in this chaos Deborah is left to comfort Tadeo. The boy is actually sad because Pedro left without him. Deborah says that is the best thing that could have happened to him (no arguments there). Looking over at Sarah one last time, she says to herself that “These are her brothers, I can no longer deny it” and then she leaves for good. The Millan family arrives for Julieta who is now awake. Alondra is with Lucas who feels awfully bad. Beatriz and Cornelio grab Tadeo. Pedro is back to “where it all started”. His güñ wound is starting to get the best of him.
He holds his hand to his chest, but he can still see his mother torment him, this time mocking the fact that he couldn’t k!ll the women. He asks why the tortüre and lack of løve, Aurora says they deserved it for always being in her way. But she løves and hates him just like she does herself, so he has to come with her, not allow the others to trap him and jail him. She shows him the table. Pedro walks over, drops the guñ and finds the rat poison… There is an ambulance for Lucas who talks as if he were at dëâth’s door. Julieta is taken, too, not before Sarah can give her a big hug. The cops arrive and Rosa urges them to go after Pedro and Deborah.
Mateo encourages Julieta to get well and fight for their baby. She says she wants to live and he says he will give her all his strength, he will fight with her. For a ghost, Aurora is very realistic; she even manages to powder the bread with rat poison, encouraging Pedro to have a bite, he must be hungry. As Pedro starts eating, we can actually see that he’s alone. He grabs his chest tighter, starts screeching, foaming at the mouth… avert your eyes if you don’t want to have nightmares. As I wonder if the poison or the guñ will k!ll him first, Juan arrives and sees the bread and his brother convulsing on the floor.
Pedro says he came back to their home, because this is the place where they were so close, does his brother still løve him? Juan wants to call an ambulance. He can’t understand why Pedro poisoned himself. Flashback to them as kids and grownups; Juan says he løves him… but Pedro can still see Aurora, and he asks Juan not to allow her to take him. He asks Juan to forgive him and assures him that he always protected him just like he’d promised; if he were to be born again, he’d ask God to be his brother again. He tells Juan that he løves him. Juan says that he forgives him… Aurora calls for Pedro and he just dies… Nothing worse than knowing what awaits you on the other side! Juan screams in pain.
Tadeo is with Beatriz and Cornelio, all of a sudden realizing that he didn’t know what he was doing before, thinking that papa Pedro was a good guy. The kid sure snapped out of it fast! 19 minutes in and three months later… The brothers, Sarah, Paloma and Julieta are all together in the living room looking at a new portrait of themselves. They talk about Pedro, they all miss him and wish that things could have ended up differently.Lucas forgives him (for a moment I even forgot that Pedro shot him, with everything else that he’s done, this seems like no biggie), everyone else has a few words to say about him, almost like a wake. They all look bereaved, especially Juan. They all hope Pedro could find his peace.
And Juan adds they should start a new life now and forget about the past. And then it’s a new day… the brothers and Sarah arrive at Avocados RUS, smiling and saying hello to everyone (reminiscent of that first episode). A heavily pregnant Julieta (and presumably still dying, but looking like the picture of health) hands Sarah some documents. Mateo comes to give her a ki$$. Juli has a gift for Mateo, too, a pair of baby shoes with blue ribbons – it’s a boy! Juan and Sarah have some news, too so they call for all the employees’ attention: everyone is invited to their wedding! Ki$$, ki$$ and Sarah jumps on Juan, while everybody claps and laughs!
Pretty inappropriate for a work place, but these people have already seen and heard so much, this doesn’t even make them blink. Now it’s wedding day time; Sarah is in a white carriage going towards the church while Juan waits for her, with Modesto and a very pretty Bertha by his side. Sarah is followed by a huge crowd of people calling her name and the brothers greet her, while Juan is ushered inside cause he can’t see the bride. Lucas, Mateo and Simon help her get off the carriage and take her towards the altar.
Everyone is still clapping as Sarah approaches Juan (we get a glimpse of Prospero and Rosa together, as in back together and a smiling, care free Tadeo with his parents, who are probably just parenting together, but who knows).
The priest (where was he when things were going crazy??) starts his service. Mateo and Julieta have the rings. Juan and Sarah say their vows, promise to løve one another. Lucas and Alondra arrive with the coins. More vows. Paloma and Simon place the lazo de matrimonio, even more vows and then the priest declares them marido and mujer. “ki$$, ki$$!” yell the people in church, while Beatriz sings “Ave Maria!”
Rosa holds on to Prospero for dear life (he doesn’t look all that happy in my opinion). Alondra and Lucas are together and so are Jessica and Bryan and Modesto and Bertha. And a lot more ki$$ing! Geez, you’re in church! Fireworks as Sarah and Juan get out of the church and ki$$ one more time in front of everyone.
Then it’s picture time and everyone dances and sings in front of the church (and I bet this is the real life wrap party). But we’re not done yet! At night, Sarah and Juan arrive in their room, open a bottle of champagne and I only now notice Sarah’s dress which is very nice and appropriate looking (considering how they dressed her so far, I’m shocked that her belly and most of her chest are covered). And then it’s time to get busy and we can definitely see some tongue and whatnot… Some time later… Mateo and Matelito are together by Julieta’s tomb (!!) and the change in mood is chilling. Flashback to Julieta’s dëâth bed: Sarah is there (instead of her sisters!)
To Rosa : “Thank you for giving me life”, Juli says. To Prospi :“Thank you for being my dad”. Then Mateo arrives with the tiny baby and Julieta gets to ki$$ him and asks Mateo to take care of him (As much as I hated Julieta through it all, this moment makes me shed a tear). She ki$$es her baby one more time and then she dies…
Back to the present we notice Julieta’s tomb, her huge picture and the fact that she never took the Del Monte name. Mateo promises never to forgive her and to take care of their baby while she watches them over from the sky. Quick voice over from Sarah talking about enjoying life… with a voice over from dearly departed Pedro, who did take one last secret to the tomb with him: he was the one who tampered with the breaks of the car that k!lled Severiano del Monte. Another flashback, this time with Rosa saying how she was the one who tried to poisøn Deborah… she only did it to save her family. She and Prospero have left town, they are somewhere in the world, happy and in løve.
And Deborah… or Senora Catia, how she calls herself now, is trying to pay for a hotel room, but her card is not working. Enter a man, a new sugar daddy surely, and the guy offers to pay for her, while Juan speaks about evil and how sooner or later everyone pays for their bad deeds (everyone but Deborah, apparently). And let’s not forget Simon, who is still a tormented soul, still remembering the day he failed to save his father… we actually see how he took Severiano out of the car, looked at his phone and put it back in his jacket as Sev asked for his forgiveness and said that he løved him.
And Simon’s voice over says that this will be the most painful secret that he will ever have to carry, but I don’t get it, since he already told everyone the truth and we haven’t seen anything different in this last flashback. Paloma arrives to help him up and Simon apologizes for all the harm he’s ever done to her.Paloma promises to always be by his side and Simon swears to be the best man for her, because he løves her. Lucas and Alondra are happy to find out their kinesiotherapy project has been approved, but they will have to move to Monterey, away from the Del Monte brothers for work.
No worries, at least they will be together. Several months later… Sarah is pregnant again. She and Juan walk around the ranch. Juan talks to the new baby and Sarah tells him his mom Catalina came to her in the hospital and assured her that she will be a mom one day. They ki$d, and then Simon and Paloma arrive (she is pregnant, too), then Lucas and Alondra and Mateo with his baby. We understand they are all dressed up because it’s Mateito’s baptism today. Juan remembers Severiano and Pedro (another flashback to the Del Monte men, the dead and the alive ones, bonding).
