“I just needed to breathe. I needed to draw strength so that I can carry on. To always fight on the side of good. I didn’t understand that when I was young. Even when I’ve done my best, I still come up short.”
Tristan and Toni (Malia) are teased by Umang and his buddies over their alleged relationship. At the LLU, Baristo asks for an update regarding the young vigilante group (the Moonchasers) dubbed as the ‘vampire hunters’. Gael argues that he isn’t one of the vampires they’re hunting, and Baristo reasons that the kids probably do not believe in the existence of good vampires like him.
They then begin discussing about Tristan, the guy with red highlights in his hair. The Lumakads debate on Baristo’s recent strange visit, and Greta speculates that Miyo (Malia) could be hiding something from them since she had claimed that she had no family or acquaintances in Manila.
Meanwhile, Tristan calls his aunt Betty to inform her that he would be staying the night at Umang’s place. Malia takes the opportunity to slip out to call Dory to notify her that she won’t be home tonight because she’s got a lot of work to do. A moment after Malia comes off the phone, she receives a phone call from Tristan who asks her to check up on his family in his absence.
Reverting back to her Miyo persona, Malia claims she’s also at work. The noisy chatter of Umang and his buddies compel Tristan to step out of the house to talk to Miyo some more, prompting Malia to speedily disconnect the call and put on a pretense of talking to a coworker on the phone.
“What…” Malia breathes as Tristan comes into view. “Oh, that’s what I’m saying, Venus. Can you please just tell him not to go showing up out of nowhere? He’s going to give me a heart attack.”
Toni (Malia) tags along with Tristan to his old place. In the vampires’ lair, Joshua and his partner in crime a.k.a the spies of the Moonchasers worry over how Supremo is dead set on k!lling the vampires until he finds out who is betraying him.
A series of flashbacks reveal how Joshua had framed up Therene as the traitor, hence, her death at the hands of the evil vampire lord. Joshua calls the faceless leader of the Moonchasers to update her on the situation on ground. He urges her to make the Moonchasers lie low for a while since Supremo is out for blood. Faceless leader assures him that she would have a talk with Prof T.
Back in San Isidro, Toni (Malia) helps out a feeble man carry some goods across the street. Impressed, Tristan decides to help out as well and the man expresses his appreciation. In an attempt to get into the good graces of Supremo, Joshua shows him a video where Jethro had discreetly passed on a note to Nognog.
A flashback reveals how Jethro had written the change in the prophecy in the old alphabets used by the Mystics. Meanwhile, Tristan brings Toni (Malia) to the cornfield and reflects on how much has changed since he’s been gone. He asks Malia of her province and she claims to have been born and raised in Manila.
“You were crying at the cemetery earlier,” Malia mentions. “And when you heard the news about senator Mallari, you seemed affected by it. Are you going through something?”
Tristan stares at Malia for a moment. “You can say that. That’s why I came here to San Isidro. I just needed to breathe. I needed to draw strength so that I can carry on.” Tristan then recounts how he and his friends had hunted for spiders in their childhood.
Supremo urges his minions to get ready, telling them that they’re heading off somewhere. In the meantime, Malia gets all emotional as she reflects on a memory with Heart (her dog), Ningning and Nognog by the fence in the cornfield years ago. Back in Manila, Supremo confronts Joshua and demands to know who had betrayed him.
Joshua professes his innocence but ends up getting k!lled by Supremo’s lackeys anyways. The other vampires try getting away, only to walk right into a trap that disintegrates them to ashes. Tristan takes Malia to the fence by the cornfield where he narrates the electrifying encounter he had had with a little girl back then. Malia is amazed to learn that she only feels the spark with him.
She reflects on her father’s words, still amazed and fixated with Tristan. At the LLU, Lemuel proposes to use himself as bait to draw out the vampire hunters/Moonchasers. At their headquarters, Prof T hands the Moonchasers some wristbands, telling them that they would find out its real secret when the right time comes.Read Next Episode on The Blood Moon Episode 27
