The series begins with a confrontation between two women Mayumi and Isabelle on the red carpet.
Taking the story back to twelve years ago we get to meet little Mayumi and her mum Luisa who goes to pick her up from school when they got home their house was on fire. Luisa decides to go inside the burning house for their belongings but Mayumi stops her from going inside so they lose everything they own as they leave.
Mayumi’s dad Mario and his friend Hernan work as truck drivers and they are trying to win the lottery in order to give their families a better life. As they were both chatting on the road, Hernan and a lady were almost knocked down by car but Mario saved their lives so the lady gave him her card. In the truck, Mario gets to know about his house burning down from the news so he and Hernan rush there.
Luisa is so distraught after losing everything but Mayumi encourages her to smile. Marco and Hernan come rushing there and Hernan suggests they stay in his house until they get a new place to stay.
Hernan is married to Brenda and they have a daughter Isabelle. Hernan brings them home and Isabelle is not happy Mario and his family are staying there since it’s a small house so begins to poison Isabelle’s mind against Mario’s family.
Isabelle becomes rude to Mayumi and Hernan scolds her to be nice to Mayumi and apologizes to her and Isabelle gets so jealous and angry her dad is giving Mayumi attention.
Hernan talks to Brenda to be nice to his friend and his family but she said they are only squatters and they should leave or pay rent.
Outside, Hernan talks to a crying Luisa who can’t sleep because of her family problems telling her to not worry and tries calming her down by putting his hands on her shoulders Brenda sees this and starts insulting Luisa that she is trying to sedu¢e her husband, Hernan tells Brenda to stop and apologizes to Louisa.
Due to their problems Luisa and Mario try to make some more money so leave Mayumi in the house and Brenda also leaves Isabelle at home to stop Mayumi from destroying anything.
Isabelle starts playing with her mother’s make up and it mistakenly falls, Isabelle scared she will get scolded applies the make up on Mayumi and accuses her before Brenda as the one who ruined the make up.
Brenda brings Mayumi outside and starts attacking her, Luisa arrives home to see this and isn’t happy that Brenda is attacking her daughter and defends her from Brenda so they begin to fight as the neighbors try to separate them. Due to Brenda’s hostility towards her family Luisa decides to leave her house.
Luisa and Mayumi meet up with Mario and Hernan at their work place. Hernan decides to go talk to Brenda but Luisa thanks him for his help because they have decided to find a new place to stay.
Hernan asked Brenda if she kicked out his friend and his family because of a make up misunderstanding and Brenda said she was only defending her daughter.
Later, Brenda found Mario’s medicine prescription and found out mario has a heart condition and fears for her husband safety since Mario and Fernan are partners at work and he might get an attack while driving and put her husband in harm’s way she decides to do whatever it takes to protect her husband.
Since it’s Mayumi’s birthday Mario used the date to enter the lottery. When they get to the office, they are shocked to see Brenda there and she reported Mario to his boss so he can get fired because of his heart condition to protect her husband.
Mario enters his truck and hears on the news that he has won the lottery of 120 Million Pesos, he was so happy to tell him family about how their life is about to turn around but gets a heart attack while talking to his wife and collapses on the floor.
Hernan found him and brought him to the hospital.
