Joyce Overhears A Disturbing Conversation Between Alejandra & Ronaldo. Noah’s Friend Perishes In An Accident. Kristine Forms An Alliance With Joyce To Get To The Bottom Of The Truth.
The episode began with Joyce and Shakira quickly returning Alejandra’s phone and leaving the room. Shakira pretended that the two of them were practicing a skit for Alejandra’s campaign and so Alejandra did not suspect that the two of them had been spying on her. Joyce told Shakira that she had not been able to learn anything because the phone had a password.
Meanwhile, Noel was getting restless after hearing nothing from Gani and he saw a picture of him and Kristine in the papers. He got agitated, saying that Gani was getting cosy with Kristine but his father asked him to trust his friend since he had been the one who had asked Gani to take care of Kristine. Noel was not satisfied and since his wound was not fully healed, his father stopped him from leaving. Noel then decided to get Rex to go to Manila instead.
Rex was on the phone with Noel on his way to Manila so he was not paying attention to the road and unfortunately, he got into an accident and died. Shakira stayed with Joyce for a while and he advised her to speak with Lawrence about what Kristine had said so that he could help her learn what do to next. As Shakira was leaving, Ronaldo arrived.
Ronaldo had been talking to Mike about Alejandra’s involvement in everything and he decided to go and confront her at her house. He passed Shakira as he was leaving and thus ran into Joyce. Joyce asked him what he wanted there and he said that he was there to see Alejandra. Joyce told him not to bother her “mum” and Ronaldo commented that if Joyce knew what Alejandra was like, she wouldn’t be defending her.
Alejandra arrived before Ronaldo could say anymore. She dismissed Joyce and told her that she would be the one to take care of Ronaldo. Ronaldo and Alejandra went into a private room to talk and they had a heated exchange as Ronaldo accused Alejandra of having Kristine’s practicing license dismissed.
Alejandra said that it was Joyce who had done it and she had just been helping her take care of her enemy. She added that she was helping out her daughter-in-law and Ronaldo threatened to tell Joyce all about Alejandra’s involvement in her accident years ago.All this time, Joyce had been listening in on their conversation and was thus able to confirm Alejandra’s involvement in her misfortune.
She turned to leave and almost dropped a vase but she managed to escape unnoticed.Alejandra told Ronaldo that she had done what she had to clean up his mess and that he was to blame for everything she had become. She spoke painfully about how she had held their marriage together, hoping that Ronaldo could learn to løve her and Lawrence as he had done Lourdes and Kristine.
Ronaldo felt her pain and actually apologized for hurting her but Alejandra told him that his apology was 20 years late. Lawrence arrived from Alejandra’s campaign to find Joyce crying but she did not tell him the real reason why. She only said that Ronaldo had been at the house and seeing him again had upset her.
The next day, Lawrence and Alejandra were getting ready to leave for their campaign and wanted Joyce to join them but Joyce said she was going to see her family so she could not tag along. Joyce went to church and asked Shakira to meet him there but as she walked in, the person she ran into was Kristine. Kristine had gone to see the priest to tell him that she and her family were moving away and was leaving when she bumped into Joyce.
Joyce told Kristine that she had overheard a conversation between Ronaldo and Alejandra where they said Alejandra had something to do with her disappearance and so she now believed that Alejandra was the one who had hurt her. She asked Kristine to help her find out what had really happened but Kristine said that she could also ask Lawrence for help.
Joyce said she would lose everything if she told Lawrence, which only left Kristine. She told Kristine to meet up with her father, ask him what had happened and she could listen in on them. Kristine was apprehensive though because she told Joyce she could not trust her not to record the conversation and have Ronaldo sent to prison.
Joyce told Kristine that she only wanted to know the truth of what had happened, much as Kristine did. It was then that Shakira arrived and Kristine left after Joyce wrote down her number and gave it to her, asking her to think about what she had said. Kristine went and told Gani about what she had talked about with Joyce but Gani was not up for it, saying that Joyce might be trying to trick Kristine.
Kristine told him that she thought Joyce was sincere and this would be her chance to prove that she had not been the one who had hurt her. After Rex’s accident, Noel and his father packed up their stuff to return to Manila as Noel said he was not going to involve anyone in his issues any longer.
Joyce skipped another of Alejandra’s campaign and went up to meet with Kristine who had agreed to her plan. She had called Ronaldo and asked him to meet with her, then hid Joyce somewhere so that she could listen in on their conversation.
