Brandon Goes Out Of His Way To Appease Sec. Kim, Intruding With Her Date. Marie Accidentally Triggers BMC’s Trauma.
Kim is surprised when realization dawns on her that the survey for HR was all made up for the boss to bring her out. She asks why he did all that and painstakingly, Brandon reveals that he went the extra mile to take her on a date because he wanted to apologize to her.
Kim stares at him in astonishment. After checking to see if he has a fever, she points out that a simple sorry would have sufficed. Brandon relates with her situation. A moment later, he plays a game of “ring the bottle” to win a stuffed toy for Kim but fails miserably.
Eventually, he decides to drive her home. Brandon surprises Kim the next morning by giving her the stuffed toy he had won. He had gone back to the amusement park and persisted because losing isn’t in his vocabulary. Kim excitedly takes the stuffed bear, saying that it’s more than enough.
Nevertheless, Brandon also gifts her with a necklace. His mood changes upon learning that his brother is on his way home. As he drives Kim to the office, he recalls how he had been bullied in school and he reacts from the trauma by grabbing Kim’s hand and pleading with her not to leave him.
Brandon comes back to his senses and tells her to forget whatever he said. Kim finalizes her date with Troy and agrees to meet him. She urges her coworkers not to tell anyone else. Later, Kim updates BMC about some events and partnership deals with other companies.
Carlota goes out of her way to organize the family dinner. She gladly welcomes Cyrus once he shows up. Back at Prime Alpha, BMC decides to let Kim and the rest of the team go home early. He goes to see Philip in his office and he’s alarmed upon discovering that Kim will be going on a date.
Speaking of, Kim meets up with Troy and she’s crestfallen when she realizes that he doesn’t have anything planned. Recalling her moment with BMC last night, she takes it upon herself to book a reservation at a restaurant.
The date turns out to be an absolute disaster as Troy exhibits terrible table manners and blabbers nonstop about his love for spicy food and the countries where they can be found. After dinner, Kim asks Troy for help to find a missing kid who had been abducted years ago. A video call suddenly comes in from BMC.
Brandon demands to know where she is and he sees Troy’s face after he pulls Kim away from the path of a scooter rider. BMC shows up just as Kim is straightening Troy’s tie. He calls out her name, startling her and causing her to choke Troy with the tie.
A moment later, Brandon drops off Kim at home, telling her that he was worried something bad could happen to her because she knows the company’s secrets. Kim heads inside after thanking him for the ride. She talks to her sisters about her date and her boss’ intrusion.
Kat criticizes BMC’s possessiveness and Klarisse states that it could be a reaction of some kind of trauma. The next day at the office, Kim is notified that the boss is in a grumpy mood. She and the rest of the team quickly ensure that everything is perfect lest he chews their heads off.
BMC makes his appearance and actually wishes them good luck in their game. He heads into his office and it doesn’t take long for him to cry out Kim’s name. Both secretaries hurry over to find the boss with his eyes covered. It turns out that Kim Marie’s unconscious mistake had triggered Brandon’s past trauma.
Kim quickly gets rid of the external trigger (cable ties) and promises that she’ll make sure it doesn’t happen again. BMC asks how she can guarantee it when she’s leaving. Cyrus talks to his mother about how his brother doesn’t want to face him.
Carlota says he should try to understand because what they both went through wasn’t easy. Kim Marie apologizes to Kim for the incident earlier, and Kim states that they must make sure that cable ties are never found in Prime Alpha. Roni comes over to talk to her, and Brandon observes in absurd jealousy. Read Next Episode on What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim Episode 4
