BMC Pulls Out All The Stops To Keep Kim At His Side.
Kim joins her family for breakfast as they have her favorite rice cake before taking the trip to Manila. At Prime Alpha, BMC interviews the three shortlisted applicants with secretary Kim. Brandon throws his weight around like always.
He decides to hire the most seemingly loyal and dedicated applicant who goes by Kim Marie, all the while throwing jibes at Kim. BMC goes with secretary Kim to a business meeting with JMY Group. He brushes Kim off when she tries to straighten his tie for him.
At the meeting, the two companies throw jibes at each other, with BMC calling out JMY for trying to swipe his staff behind his back. Brandon then criticizes said staff for her decision to leave him just like that. Kim looks on in disbelief.
Flashback: Kim is offered a job by the Japanese company after they had learned of her resignation from Prime Alpha. They even offer her a blank cheque and promise to treat her better than her current boss. Kim however turns down the offer.
At present, BMC ends the meeting on a high note and after the other party leaves, Kim laments over how low the boss thinks of her 9 years old loyalty and dedication . She states that if it was about money, then she could have joined another company long ago.
BMC argues that he had assumed because she didn’t want to tell him the reason for her resignation. At the office, Brandon reflects on a light-hearted memory from the past before Kim had become conversant in the Japanese language.
At present, he calls for secretary Kim and he’s exasperated when Kim Marie shows up instead. Kim decides to take her replacement for an outing with the other staff and BMC crashes the hangout at the bar & grill.
Sarah initiates a compliment game and when it gets to BMC’s turn, he stares at Kim for a while and she smiles to herself, thinking that he’s going to compliment her. BMC doesn’t disappoint as he compliments himself instead for being such a good leader and boss.
After everyone leaves, he actually compliments Kim and tells her that she’s the heart of the team. Kim thanks him but says that his niceties won’t change her mind. Later that night at the gym, Brandon talks to Philip about his situation with secretary Kim and he insinuates that he can’t let her go because he likes her.
Brandon says he needs her in the company because she’s a valuable asset and nothing more. Philip says Kim might stay if he apologizes to her and Brandon agrees – he’ll apologize the Brandon way. The next morning, Kim talks to her sister on the phone and Kat makes note of a date she had set up for her with a childhood friend of hers called Troy.
Coming upon the scene, BMC says “no”, taking Kim by surprise. On the other line, Kat criticizes her sister’s boss and she hangs up before she can say anything more that can’t be unsaid. BMC tells Kim that she can’t go on a date because there’s a lot to do. Kim is exasperated.
She later briefs her replacement on details of her responsibilities to the boss. BMC calls Kim Marie into his office to talk to her. As Kim looks on curiously, she sends a text to her sister, agreeing to the date with Troy. It doesn’t take long for her to receive a phone call from Philip.
A moment later, Kim arrives at an elegant amusement park and she’s surprised when BMC makes an appearance. She asks for the agenda of the supposed meeting and he states that it’s “ride all you can”. It turns out that the boss had rented the whole amusement park for the night.
Kim asks about Phillip and BMC says he’s on his way so they should have fun in the meantime. BMC rides the rollercoaster with Kim and they enjoy several rides together. He stares at Kim as she rides the carousel. Later, he serves her dinner and comes to realize the real reason for her resignation.
After dinner, BMC takes Kim outside where the night sky erupts in a kaleidoscope of colors as fireworks burst into the air, their booms and crackles thrilling Kim. Brandon stares at her as she’s awed by the majestic display of swirling colors.
