“Samuel and his family go into hiding as he struggles to forget Isabel. Meanwhile, Miranda discovers Samuel may be Eduardo’s son, leaving Maximo desperate to hide the truth.”
The episode begins with Mona arriving at the Severino household with Calixto, where she informs the family about what happened to Samuel. Trinidad is devastated and wonders how anyone could do such a thing to her grandson, calling them heartless.
Mona urges everyone to leave immediately, but Trinidad questions how they will get justice if they run away. Damien reminds her that Samuel’s safety is the most important thing right now.
Mona adds that they need to move quickly because someone could be watching their every move, and the family prepares to leave. Meanwhile, Franco and Isabel leave for their honeymoon.
Franco tries to start a conversation, but seeing Isabel’s lack of interest, he can only apologize for thinking about himself, admitting that he loves her. Back at the Severinos’, Lupe expresses concern about leaving with the family, but Mona reassures her that they will be fine because she needs to stay close to Samuel.
Rebecca later arrives to ask about Samuel, but Damien firmly tells her it would be best if they stay out of their lives. Elsewhere, Franco attempts to get closer to Isabel, but she avoids him and pleads with him to stop.
Franco apologizes and promises to wait. At the same time, Samuel and his family arrive at their new home, though Samuel cannot stop thinking about Isabel. Mona asks why he does not return to her, but Samuel agrees with his mother’s earlier advice that he should stay away for now.
Still, he vows to one day return and reclaim what was taken from him. Helena silently thinks to herself that if only Samuel knew love was not the only thing he should reclaim, as he is a Hidalgo by blood and has every right to that legacy.
Miranda meets with her investigator and tells him there is no need to continue investigating Samuel and Elena because it no longer matters. However, the investigator reveals new information, showing her documents that prove Elena was already pregnant during her time working for the Hidalgos.
Meanwhile, Franco continues trying to make Isabel happy, but she remains distant. Despite knowing her heart belongs to Samuel, Franco begs for a chance, even if it is only for a single day.
At the same time, Samuel remains lost in thoughts of Isabel. Mona advises him to focus on his dreams instead, but Samuel admits it is not easy. Meanwhile, a photographer arrives to take pictures of Franco and Isabel.
When Franco is asked to hold Isabel for the photographs, he hesitates before finally doing so. Miranda confronts her father for hiding the fact that Elena was pregnant before leaving Salvacion. Shocked, her father asks how she found out.
Miranda cannot believe he kept the truth from her after assuring her she had nothing to worry about. She accuses him of hiding things while their family is slowly falling apart. Elsewhere, Elena notices Samuel still deep in thought and tries to comfort him.
Samuel worries Eduardo may believe he took his kindness for granted, but Elena reassures him that she already spoke to Eduardo and wants them to focus on building a new life in their new home.
Maximo grows tired of Miranda’s accusations and reminds her that they have no proof Samuel is Eduardo’s son, urging her to stop obsessing over it. Miranda fires back, insisting that if he wants her to stop, he should help uncover the truth.
She needs to know whether Samuel is Eduardo’s son or not. Maximo argues that it no longer matters because Samuel is dead, but Miranda refuses to accept uncertainty, insisting she wants confirmation that Eduardo belongs only to their family.
Elsewhere, Elena believes Eduardo is the only person who can truly help them and decides to make things right. At the same time, Rebecca visits Eduardo to discuss Samuel and his family, convinced something terrible must have happened to him.
She reveals that she overheard Maximo and Gonzalo speaking about Samuel’s disappearance and explains that it was the reason Isabel agreed to marry Franco.
Eduardo thanks Rebecca for telling him everything, and Rebecca admits she has finally accepted the love Samuel and Isabel shared. Eduardo promises to help but asks her to keep their conversation private.
Meanwhile, Franco drowns his sorrow in alcohol. When Isabel tries to help him, he stops her and tearfully wonders why neither she nor his father could ever love him.
Eduardo later confronts Maximo and Miranda about Samuel’s disappearance and Isabel being forced to marry Franco. Maximo denies involvement and tells Eduardo to ask Gonzalo instead, claiming Gonzalo had the real motive since Samuel got involved with his daughter.
Eduardo warns Maximo that if he discovers he played a role in Samuel’s disappearance, he will never respect him as his father-in-law again. Miranda angrily questions why Eduardo dares to speak to her father that way over Samuel.
Eduardo demands to know what Samuel ever did to deserve their hatred and questions why they have feared him since childhood. He warns them to stop harassing Samuel’s family before storming off.
Left alone, Maximo said privately that if Samuel truly turns out to be Eduardo’s son, then everything is over because the rightful Hidalgo heir is dead. Eduardo orders one of his men to search for the Severinos.
Juancho overhears and quickly informs Maximo and Gonzalo. Maximo remains unbothered, confident Samuel will never be found, while Gonzalo worries about Elena.
Maximo reminds him that Eduardo only believes evidence and would need proof to accept any accusations. Gonzalo also worries Isabel may demand proof that Samuel is alive when she returns.
Juancho wonders what if Samuel survived, but Maximo remains convinced Samuel is dead. Elsewhere, Elena’s parents question why Samuel has been treated so cruelly, believing it cannot simply be because he fell in love with Isabel.
Elena finally reveals that Luis is not Samuel’s real father, Eduardo is. Damien wonders why anyone would want Samuel dead if he is Eduardo’s son, and Elena explains that Maximo fears Samuel could take away his wealth and power.
She apologizes for hiding the truth all these years, saying she only wanted to protect her son. Just as she speaks of Samuel being a Hidalgo, Samuel suddenly enters, calling out to her. Elena panics but quickly realizes he heard nothing.
Relieved, she makes her parents promise not to tell Samuel the truth. Meanwhile, Miranda continues searching for answers about Samuel’s birth and discovers that Luis is gay and that Elena left Salvacion while pregnant.
Elsewhere, Isabel and Franco return from their honeymoon. Isabel asks Rebecca for news about Samuel, but Rebecca explains that she visited the Severinos before they disappeared and could not learn anything.
Still, she reassures Isabel that Samuel is alive. Isabel hopes that wherever Samuel is, he can build a better life, though she says she has accepted her fate as Franco’s wife.
Miranda later informs her father about her discoveries and says she is now convinced Samuel is Eduardo’s son. She insists they must secure Franco’s future in case Samuel turns out to be Eduardo’s heir.
Maximo snaps, reminding her he has been trying to do exactly that all along. Eduardo approached Isabel to confirm whether she was truly forced into marrying Franco. Hurt, he asks why she never told him.
Tearfully, Isabel explains that agreeing to the marriage was the only way Samuel could be set free. She promises that as long as Samuel is safe, she will try to be a good wife to Franco and make him happy.
Unbeknownst to them, Franco overhears the entire conversation. Later, Miranda notices Franco preparing to sleep on the floor and complains to Maximo about Isabel’s treatment of him.
Eduardo arrives and bluntly tells them that everything happening is their fault because love cannot be forced. He questions how they can sleep peacefully after everything they have done, while Miranda insists she sleeps well knowing she gave Franco what he wanted.
Eduardo fires back that Franco is clearly miserable. Meanwhile, Samuel and Calixto begin working at their new jobs, and their boss, impressed by Samuel, gives him greater responsibility.
At the same time, Miranda confronts Isabel, warning her that Franco was not born to sleep on the floor or live like a servant in his own house. Elsewhere, Elena and her mother go grocery shopping when Elena notices someone following them.
Trinidad angrily confronts the man, who admits Eduardo sent him because he is worried about them. Elena asks him to deliver a letter to Eduardo, explaining that it contains everything she needs to tell him, along with the date and location where they can meet.
Meanwhile, Maximo reassures Gonzalo over the phone that Samuel is “six feet under” and likely already eaten by worms. He insists Rebecca only claimed Samuel was alive to comfort Isabel.
Elsewhere, Eduardo confronts Franco about everything he now knows regarding the marriage and urges him to do the right thing. Franco angrily refuses, declaring that he will not let go of Isabel because he believes she will eventually love him.
The man later returns to deliver Elena’s letter but is informed Eduardo is in a meeting, so he leaves it in Eduardo’s office. After pretending to pass on the message, Juancho secretly steals the letter and takes it to Maximo.
Reading it, Maximo learns Elena plans to reveal the truth to Eduardo. He orders Juancho to find Elena’s hiding place and warns that once he does, they will no longer need Eduardo’s guard and can expose him immediately afterward.
As Juancho leaves, Maximo coldly reflects that even though Samuel is supposedly dead, his ghost continues to haunt them. Samuel’s true identity is slowly creeping back into their lives, and Eduardo must never discover the truth, that Samuel is his son.
