“Isabel rejects Franco’s surprise proposal, while Samuel learns the painful truth about his mother Elena’s past.”

The episode begins with Eduardo experiencing a flat tire, which is noticed by Gonzalo’s workers, including the Severino family. He explains his situation, and they offer to help him. Lupe wonders why he is driving without a driver, but Eduardo says he sometimes prefers doing things himself.

Damian steps in, offering assistance, and Eduardo agrees. Eduardo recognizes Trinidad as Samuel’s grandmother, and they briefly talk about Samuel. Elena, however, feels uncomfortable in Eduardo’s presence and avoids the conversation, quickly excusing herself.

Later, Trinidad confronts Elena about her dislike for rich people, wondering if something bad happened to her in the past. Elena recalls Samuel’s childhood incident but Trinidad insists her distrust of the wealthy existed long before that.

Trinidad argues that not all rich people are bad and mentions Eduardo as an example, but Elena remains firm in her beliefs. She privately reflects on her past, feeling as though it continues to haunt her, and vows that no one must discover what truly happened.

Elsewhere, Gonzalo instructs Pacquito to inform the workers about a party he is hosting, intending to give them a false sense of importance, believing they are easily impressed.

Meanwhile, Romeo and some workers approach Samuel, asking him to speak to Gonzalo about their wages and whether the plantation is truly profitable. Samuel agrees to speak to Gonzalo on their behalf.

Elena later tells Samuel about the party at the mansion, and Samuel sees it as the best opportunity to confront Gonzalo. Elena warns him about the risks given his position, but Samuel insists on finding out the truth. Elena reluctantly supports her son.

Franco happily informs Maximo that he plans to propose to Isabel, claiming Gonzalo has already approved and believing Isabel shares his feelings. Maximo is not pleased and warns him not to let his emotions cloud his judgment.

At the party, Miranda praises Franco, while he insists everything he does is for his father’s approval. Miranda reminds him of the possibility that he is not Eduardo’s biological son, but Franco firmly rejects the idea, insisting he is a true Hidalgo.

Meanwhile, Eduardo and Gonzalo discuss concerns from other landowners about unfair favoritism, but Gonzalo dismisses the issue, insisting they set aside business matters since they are at a celebration.

Samuel confronts Gonzalo about workers’ complaints, questioning wage cuts and plantation earnings. Gonzalo loses his temper, accusing Samuel of overstepping his boundaries and insisting that he sacrifices even his own family’s income for the workers.

Isabel intervenes, defending her father and accusing Samuel of misrepresenting him. Later, Samuel tells Mona about the confrontation and Isabel’s remarks. Mona worries about his emotional state, but Samuel repeats that Isabel no longer affects him.

Meanwhile, Miranda humiliates Elena over an earlier incident at the party, warning her not to appear in their space again. Eduardo also confronts Elena, accusing her of dishonesty and ordering her to stay away from such events in the future.

At the party, Franco drags Isabel to the stage and surprises her by publicly announcing his intention to marry her. He proposes in front of everyone, but Isabel is shocked and does not respond. Franco assumes her silence is acceptance and tries to place the ring on her finger, but she pulls her hand away and rejects him, apologizing before walking away.

Gonzalo confronts Isabel, asking why she embarrassed Franco, but she explains she never intended to humiliate him and did not expect the proposal.

Meanwhile, Miranda criticizes Isabel for rejecting Franco, insisting she will not find anyone better. Rebecca defends Isabel, but Miranda demands a valid reason for the rejection. Gonzalo also pressures Isabel to speak with Franco, concerned about maintaining ties with the Hidalgos.

Franco later speaks to Isabel privately, expressing his love and desire to spend his life with her. Isabel clarifies that she only sees him as a friend and never viewed their relationship romantically. Franco asked if she liked him, and when she said yes, he took that as enough and quickly kissed her cheek goodnight.

Maximo questions Gonzalo about the situation and whether the family alliance remains intact, while Franco insists to his father that he and Isabel love each other and will not be separated.

Isabel assures her mother she never intended to humiliate Franco, while Franco explains to his family that he believed their mutual feelings justified his proposal. Isabel later promises her mother she will speak to Franco to clear the misunderstanding.

The next day, Mona brings news of her new job as a secretary, and everyone celebrates with her. Franco also tells his father he wishes to join the family business, and his request is accepted.

At breakfast, Samuel learns about Franco’s proposal to Isabel and feels hurt but relieved when he hears she rejected him. Mona is not surprised, while Trinidad suggests Isabel may not be ready for marriage.

Maximo informs Miranda about Elena’s past and her alleged theft from the Hidalgos, questioning why Eduardo denies knowing her. Miranda confronts Eduardo, accusing him of lying. Eduardo admits Elena betrayed his trust but insists he is telling the truth. Miranda remains unconvinced.

Isabel later tells Franco they can only remain friends. Franco agrees, though visibly disappointed. Samuel later approaches Eduardo for a favor but is insulted by Miranda, who calls his mother a thief. Samuel returns home confused and confronts his grandmother, who refuses to confirm the accusation but urges him to trust his mother.

Gonzalo offers Isabel a position at the office, which she accepts. The next day, Franco reveals he will also work in the same place. Gonzalo explains it is a partnership between families and encourages Isabel to stay close to Franco, leaving her stunned.

Samuel confronts his mother, demanding to know if she is truly a thief. Meanwhile, Rebecca pleads with Gonzalo to stop pushing Isabel toward Franco, but Gonzalo insists he is acting in his daughter’s best interest and warns Rebecca to stay out of it.

Elena finally explains her past as she was once a trusted worker for the Hidalgos and Eduardo’s right hand until she was falsely accused of stealing jewelry. She claims she was framed due to jealousy and forced to accept the accusation to be released from prison.

Eduardo still believes she betrayed him. Samuel urges her to prove her innocence, but Elena refuses, insisting the past must remain buried.

She asks him to focus on the future instead, as reopening old wounds will only bring suffering. Samuel, in tears, watches as she hugs him, silently apologizing to herself for keeping the truth hidden to protect him.
