“Isabel and Franco return to Salvacion, where Franco secretly plans a future with her.”
The episode begins with Samuel apologizing to Gonzalo, explaining that he never meant any disrespect and only wanted to help his fellow workers. Gonzalo coldly reminds him to know his place and warns him not to see himself as the workers’ savior, insisting they do not need a hero.
He cautions Samuel that he may not be so lucky next time. Back at home, Samuel downplays the confrontation and tells his family that Gonzalo merely warned him not to provoke Pacquito too much. His grandmother believes Pacquito has been feeding Gonzalo lies, giving him reasons to resent Samuel.
Elena, worried for her son’s safety, begs him not to sacrifice his well-being, while his grandfather reassures him that one day they too will own land of their own. Elsewhere, Maximo speaks with Miranda about Franco and Isabel returning from London.
He disapproves of Franco constantly being around Isabel, believing Franco is intelligent but too vulnerable when it comes to matters of the heart. Maximo warns Miranda that if Franco truly falls for Isabel, he must not become weak enough to follow her blindly.
Meanwhile, Franco is seen smiling as he secretly hides a ring in his pocket. He helps Isabel with her luggage and tells her he has a surprise waiting for her once they return to Salvacion. At the plantation, Pacquito announces Isabel’s return to the workers.
Mona is clearly displeased, while Samuel wonders if things might have been different had he managed to speak to Isabel before she left years ago. He wonders if the four of them could still have remained friends, but Mona reminds him that their friendship ended long before Isabel ever left.
During the flight, Isabel reflects on painful memories of her father abusing her mother. She once urged Rebecca to leave him, but her mother refused. Isabel remembers Samuel promising never to leave her, and she writes something hopeful in her notebook.
When Isabel and Franco arrive back in Salvacion, the workers excitedly stop working to catch a glimpse of her. Mona urges Samuel to come, but he refuses, worried about Pacquito’s reaction. Mona promises to bring him something instead.
Both Isabel and Franco then return to their respective homes. Isabel becomes emotional as she finally returns home. Samuel, unable to contain himself, runs toward her house calling her name.
He watches from outside as she reunites with her mother and waves happily to the people gathered outside, unaware that Samuel is among them. Later, Isabel meets Gonzalo, who questions her sudden return. She explains that she came because of Rebecca’s accident and now feels it may be time to stay for good.
She even expresses interest in helping with the plantation, but Gonzalo dismisses the idea. He says he sent her to London not for farm work, but so she could be prepared for life and eventually marry into a respectable family.
Isabel challenges her father, asking if he only wants her to become a housewife. Rebecca asks Soledad to serve Isabel, but when Isabel warmly invites Soledad to sit with them, Gonzalo quickly orders the woman away to unpack Isabel’s things instead.
Meanwhile, Mona scolds Samuel for secretly going to Isabel’s house after claiming he would stay away. Samuel, however, cannot hide his excitement and keeps talking about how beautiful Isabel has become. Elsewhere, Rebecca quietly warns Isabel that it is wiser not to always speak her mind.
Miranda later teases Franco about his reasons for returning. At first he jokes, but then seriously confesses that he came back for Isabel and intends to ask for her hand in marriage. Miranda shares this with Maximo, who is not pleased.
He warns that Franco loving Isabel more than she loves him could become a serious weakness. Isabel again expresses her wish to help at the plantation, but Gonzalo refuses. Instead, he complains about Samuel, claiming the young man is trying to stir trouble and make him look like the villain.
He then privately meets Pacquito and hints at having a new task for him. Samuel sits alone, smiling as he remembers childhood moments with Isabel. Mona quickly notices and teases him for still dreaming of friendship with Isabel despite the huge social divide between them.
Later, she confides in her sister that she fears Samuel may once again get himself into trouble because of Isabel. At the old mansion, Samuel almost bumps into Isabel and is left stunned. Moments later, Franco and Mona also arrive.
Franco casually remarks that Samuel and Mona have not changed, and Mona returns the comment. Isabel pretends not to remember much of the past and claims she only ended up there because she got lost.
When Samuel offers to bring them something, she insists on leaving and walks away with Franco. Later, Franco and Isabel discuss Samuel. Franco says he is not surprised to see Samuel still the way he is.
Isabel mentions her father’s complaints about Samuel, and Franco claims he knows exactly what Samuel is capable of. She also questions how calm Franco seemed around him, and Franco admits that while life in London made him happy, he has never forgotten what happened between them.
Maximo and Gonzalo later meet and exchange mocking jokes. Miranda, meanwhile, suggests to Rebecca that they host a party for their children. Maximo uses the moment to propose that it may be time for the Miravelez and Hidalgo families to unite through Isabel and Franco.
Samuel vents to Mona afterward, saying he cannot believe Isabel’s cold attitude because she is nothing like the girl he once knew. He is equally surprised by Franco’s behavior. Mona, however, says their reactions are normal given the class differences between them.
Franco then approaches Gonzalo directly and formally asks for Isabel’s hand in marriage. He claims that Isabel shares his feelings, though he has not yet spoken to her about it. Gonzalo is pleased and says his daughter would be safe with Franco.
Franco promises to care for Isabel for the rest of his life. Mona was complaining to her sister about how workers like them remain poor while others have so much wealth. Samuel, however, remains consumed by thoughts of Isabel.
He later tells Elena that Isabel is no longer the same person he once knew.At a family gathering, both Isabel and Franco announce their decision to remain in Salvacion rather than return to London. They also declare their desire to become involved in the family business.
Before leaving, Isabel asks Franco about the surprise he promised her. He tells her she will receive it during the party being held. The next morning, Isabel goes into town to shop for a dress and unexpectedly meets Mona, who is searching for work.
Isabel invites her to help choose a dress and even offers to buy one for her after noticing Mona admiring it. Mona refuses, proudly saying she does not accept what she has not earned. Isabel reminds her that they were once friends, but Mona pointedly asks whether she still considers Samuel a friend as well. Isabel says that she does.
Meanwhile, Franco visits Samuel and mocks his life, taunting him for once having a plantation owner as a friend and still ending up poor. Samuel calmly replies that he does not regret telling the truth years ago.
Franco says that if Samuel had been honest with him, maybe he might have become a principal or even owned a school by now. When Samuel asks if he is still angry, Franco says no, but admits he enjoys seeing Samuel in his current situation.
Both men are later shown remembering an old childhood incident. Franco once used Samuel’s back to climb for mangoes, causing them both to fall. Franco then lied that Samuel pushed him, and Gonzalo demanded an apology from Samuel’s family.
To avoid trouble, Elena knelt and begged Franco for forgiveness. Eduardo arrived and dismissed them, while Miranda later complained that Eduardo always blamed Franco. Elena also explains to Samuel once again why she always scolded him whenever he got involved with those people.
Watching his mother sleep, Samuel recalls the vow he once made with Mona, that one day he would no longer be just a worker, and his mother would never have to kneel before anyone again.
