“Samuel risks his life to save Isabel from a fire, but Franco takes the credit”
The episode begins with Franco announcing that they are leaving after noticing Isabel getting along with Samuel.
“Franco, don’t go yet. We’re still having fun” Samuel pleads.
“Call me Sir Franco” he snaps before walking away.
As they prepare to leave, Mona accidentally rips her shirt. Isabel kindly offers her her dress. Mona hesitates, worried that Isabel’s dad might get angry, but Isabel reassures her that it won’t be a problem since she has many clothes.
The children agree to meet again at the river, but Franco, still annoyed, orders Samuel to carry him on his back because he doesn’t want to walk. Later that day, Mona questions Samuel about why he allows Franco to treat him that way despite being friends.
Samuel shrugs it off, saying it’s not a big deal. Mona also expresses her annoyance at Isabel and Franco always joining them. Noticing her reaction, Samuel teases her, asking if she’s jealous, but she quickly denies it.
Meanwhile, Trinidad loses consciousness and the family urgently needs money to take her to the hospital. Elena asks Pacquito for an advance on their salary, but he refuses, saying they haven’t earned it yet.
After much pleading, he agrees, but only on the condition that interest will be added. Seeing no other option, Samuel runs to Franco and tearfully asks for help, promising to repay him no matter the amount.
Franco agrees to help his friend. He later arrives at Samuel’s home with his father, Eduardo, who recognizes Samuel. Eduardo is pleased that Samuel came to them for help and praises Franco for befriending him.
When Elena arrives and sees Eduardo, both are visibly shocked. Eduardo informs Samuel about the arrangements made for his grandmother’s treatment before leaving with Franco.
Elena scolds Samuel for not telling her that Franco is Eduardo’s son. Samuel apologizes, insisting that what matters most is that his grandmother will recover.
Elsewhere, Maximo talks to Franco and convinces him that helping Samuel was a mistake. Trinidad eventually returns home after her treatment. Elena turns to her son still mad as she reminds Samuel that she warned him not to associate with rich people.
Although Samuel points out that they helped them in their time of need, Elena insists he should thank them, but stay away from them moving forward. In another scene, Romeo goes to Don Gonzalo to ask for financial help for his mother’s treatment after Pacquito refused.
He appeals to Gonzalo, citing his family’s long service to the Miravelez family and even offers lifelong loyalty in return. However, Gonzalo coldly refuses. Later, a party is held at Eduardo’s house.
During the event, some women gossip about Miranda, claiming that Eduardo only married her because she became pregnant, unaware that Franco overhears everything.
Rebecca reunites with her aunt at the party, and they are both happy to see each other. Her aunt is surprised that Gonzalo attended despite losing to Eduardo. Rebecca confides that Gonzalo’s behavior is worsening and admits she is considering leaving him. Her aunt advises her to think carefully, warning her about the scandal it could cause.
Meanwhile, Samuel and Mona are walking home when Samuel stops to watch fireflies and make a wish. Mona, impatient and eager to get home to her sister, leaves him behind. At the same time, Isabel, who is also following the fireflies, encounters Samuel.
The two share a quiet moment watching them together. When Isabel decides to return to the party, Samuel offers to accompany her, but she refuses, fearing her father’s reaction if he sees them together.
A man set the field on fire. Isabel, on her way back, gets trapped and struggles to breathe as she cries for help. Samuel, still nearby, rushes in to save her. As the fire spreads, people gather to put it out, while Gonzalo desperately urges them on after learning his daughter is inside.
Samuel manages to rescue Isabel and carry her to safety. She gives him her handkerchief to cover his nose from the smoke. Franco arrives at the scene. Samuel asks him to help carry Isabel, but before he can continue, he loses his strength completely. Franco carries Isabel away, and everyone praises him, believing he was the one who saved her.
Samuel emerges, and Franco claims he saw him while trying to save Isabel. Surprised by the subtle signal Franco gives him, Samuel is forced to go along and admit that it was Franco who saved Isabel.
On his way home, Samuel meets Mona and makes her promise not to tell his mother anything, knowing she has already warned him to stay away from Franco and Isabel. Isabel later regains consciousness but is left shocked and speechless when her mother tells her that Franco saved her.
Meanwhile, Eduardo is informed by his workers about the severe damage caused by the fire. Franco thanks Samuel for not revealing the truth and proudly mentions that even his father now admires him.
He tells Samuel to start calling him by his name instead of “Sir Franco” and makes him promise never to tell anyone that he was the one who actually saved Isabel, unaware that Mona is secretly listening nearby.
When Mona notices Samuel’s injuries and asks what happened, Pacquito suddenly appears. Assuming Samuel is responsible for the fire, he drags him to Gonzalo. Despite Samuel’s denials, Pacquito begins beating him.
When Isabel tries to intervene, Samuel denies knowing her after her father questions her about him. Eduardo soon arrives, furious, and demands that Samuel be released. He accuses Gonzalo and his man of punishing the boy without any evidence.
Elena thanks Eduardo, but he insists he is only doing his duty as mayor and that the innocent should not be punished. Back at home, as Samuel is being treated, he refuses to tell the truth. When Elena questions Mona, she reveals that they’re still friends with Franco and Isabel.
Elena tearfully reminds her son that she warned him to stay away from them, fearing something like this would happen. Meanwhile, Isabel confronts Franco, asking if he was truly the one who saved her. He insists that he was.
When she brings up the handkerchief she gave to her rescuer, Franco quickly makes an excuse, though Isabel remains doubtful. Mona, still upset, confronts Samuel for not defending himself and demands to know the full story.
Sensing something is off, Maximo questions Franco about the fire incident. Franco eventually confesses that Samuel was the one who saved Isabel. Instead of being disappointed, Maximo praises him, saying he is becoming just like him. He advises Franco to let others do the work but always take the credit.
Later, Isabel speaks to Samuel about the beating he received, believing that if she had spoken up, he might not have been hurt so badly. She urges him to tell her the truth, including whether he was the one who saved her, as she wants to help him.
Franco arrives and ask Samuel to confirm that he was the one who saved Isabel, and Samuel agrees. Isabel refuses to believe it, but Franco challenges her, asking if she thinks he is incapable of saving her. Just then, Mona rushes in with urgent news that another farmer is now being accused.
