The stormy night was dark and foreboding, with thick clouds obscuring the moon and stars. Flashes of lightning illuminated the sky, followed by the rumble of thunder that shook the air. While Divine her mother packs their belongings, Caroline plugs in her iPod to drown out the roaring of the storm.
Elsewhere, as the rain pours down in sheets, Andrei desperately tries to talk his mother out of leaving home. They’re almost run over by a car on the road which pulls over nearby. In the outpouring rain, Annie leaves her son behind and gets into the car.
Meanwhile, Caroline is devastated to find her mother lying in a pool of blood with a knife plunged into her belly. Wilson takes Caroline home to introduce her to his family; Cindy his wife and Charleston, Bettina and Irene her half siblings. Andrei’s father literally drinks himself to death following Annie’s abandonment.
Ling (Caroline) eagerly wants her father to take her to visit her mother since it’s her death anniversary. Wilson says he’ll just send flowers because he has a plane to catch. After he leaves, Caroline pesters Cindy on the very same matter and she treats her with contempt.
Later, Caroline finds Irene in the possession of her iPod and a fight ensues when she refuses to give it back. Coming upon the scene, Bettina backs up her sister and they shove Caroline into the swimming pool, criticizing her and her mother’s sùiçide.
In her room, as Caroline tries in vain to get her water soaked iPod to work again, Charleston shows up with the favorite stuffed toys of his little sisters, asking if she wants to get back at them. It doesn’t take long for Irene and Bettina to weep upon finding their favorite stuffed toys torn up.
Cindy confronts Caroline and serves her a stern warning, saying that she should never hurt her children. She hands her a new iPod and tells her that she’ll get more treats if she behaves. After working at the fish market with Balong, Bingo saves an old woman from getting knocked down by a car.
Later, grandma Nene asks if he wants to come and live with her. There’s cause for celebration as she wins the lottery. Bingo juggles various jobs as he grows into a street smart young man. He gets ready for a presentation at GLC and quickly boards a jeepney.
Upon landing in the country with Caroline, Wilson strives to convince her to attend her sister’s engagement party. Caroline ditches her driver after her father leaves. On his way to the GLC company, Bingo is knocked down by a bus after it avoids collision with Caroline’s car.
As concerned people gather around, he recovers and picks up his documents. He then takes a photo of the bus’ license plate before carrying on. While Caroline arrives at the house where she had found her mother’s body, the Tiu family make preparations for the Bettina and Edward’s engagement party.
Even Wilson’s other illegitimate son Carlo makes an appearance. Caroline arrives at the event with her complete black leather dress and Cindy charges her to go and get dressed. Upon arriving at GLC, Bingo isn’t allowed to make his presentation because he’s several minutes late.
He explains what happened to him but the receptionist won’t hear any of it. Bingo sees the ongoing occasion and decides to blend in as a waiter. Ultimately, Caroline makes another entrance wearing all black again in honor of her mother and she gets criticized for it.
She stalks over to Bingo, drinks up the glasses of drinks he’s carrying and demands for more. The engagement party commences amidst introductions from the Tiu and Liao families. Irene disses Caroline when she accidentally pours a drink on her. When she takes things too far, Caroline puts her in her place.
Later, Caroline is shocked to witness Bettina’s fiancé making out with Olivia her best friend. She makes herself known before stalking off. Edward goes after her and tries to talk to her. Bettina comes upon the scene and gives her an earful, telling her to leave before she causes more trouble.
Having had enough, Caroline throws in her face how she had caught her fiancé ki$$ing her best friend. Edward denies it of course and he holds Bettina back as she makes a fuss. The episode concludes as Caroline storms off smugly. Read Next Episode on Can’t Buy Me Love Episode 2
