Jane Convinces Marco To Do Right By His Family. The Disturbing Revelation Strains Jane’s Relationship With Edward.
The episode begins with Marco talking to Andrea on the phone, devastated over the loss of his family. Now that he has nothing more to lose, Andrea urges him not to do anything stupid or come out of hiding. However, Marco decides to go and attend the wake of his family.
While he’s busy mourning, he gets spotted by Jane who confronts him outside about who his accomplices are. Following an exchange of words, Marco pulls a gün on her, blaming her for everything that has gone wrong in his life.
Jane actually has the time to give him a talking-to, telling him to change for the better for the sake of his family. Marco of course flips out and refuses to believe her crazies and Jane proves it by passing on messages from the ghosts of his wife and daughter.
On the phone, Anton questions Ofelia over the attäçk on him, accusing her of conniving with her boss to silence him. Ofelia denies it but that doesn’t stop Anton from thrëâtening to expose their dirty secrets.
At home, Marco checks his daughter’s stuffed toy and sure enough, he finds the last gift he had given to his wife inside. He breaks down and gets quite emotional. Upon arriving at Lifeline Bar, Jane is taken by surprise when Edward proposes to her.
Flashback: Marco apologizes to Jane for everything he did and finally reveals to her the mastermind behind the whole scamming scheme. Presently, Edward reiterates his question and Jane replies in the negative, saying that she doesn’t think it’s the right time.
Ofelia wants to tell the police about the issue with Anton but Andrea objects to it, determined to do everything she can to protect her dirty secret and her family. In the meantime, a confused Edward presses Jane for answers and she drops the bømb on him.
Edward refuses to believe that his mother could be capable of such atrocities. Later at the precinct, the Montemayors confront Marco who apparently turned himself in after the encounter with Jane. As expected, Marco names Andrea as the mastermind of the crimes he committed and she denies it.
Marco makes a futile attempt to make her admit to the truth, even revealing how she had faked her death to escape the crimes she committed in Canada. A couple of news reporters rush the Montemayors as they head out. The incident and Andrea’s denial begins to go viral on TV, leaving Jane’s family confused and conflicted.
Jane only hopes that Marco’s accusations are all lies. Following the recent incidents, Ofelia begins to worry for Anton’s safety. She takes a trip down memory lane and it’s revealed that he’s the real father of Edward. Edward brings his parents to see Jane in order to clear the air.
Andrea puts on a hell of a show to convince her of her innocence and her husband and son back her up. Though Jane had not seen the face of the woman from the hotel, she had seen the shoes she wore. And you got that right – Andrea happens to be wearing the same shoes.
At the precinct, Jane tells Lt. Arnaiz that she believes Andrea is Marco’s accomplice but the officer points out that they need solid evidence to prove it. Arnaiz watches the CCTV footage and Jane laments over the obvious time jump, a telltale sign that the video had been tampered with.
A moment later, Jane has a talk with Patricio and Diana about her situation. She decides not to tell Edward anything since there’s nothing to prove his mother’s crimes. Jane decides to conduct her own investigation with the help of Alice and Robbie. Edward gets wind of it and he’s appalled.
Lt. Arnaiz resolves to keep Captain Castillo under surveillance after Marco implicates him in his crimes. Meanwhile, Edward lashes out at Jane for making a fool out of him. Jane tries to explain things but he insists that his mother is innocent. He storms off after declaring that they’re over.
