Betrayal, Deception, and a Deadly Trap: Emma’s Struggle Against Dark Secrets and Hidden Enemies
Tatiana confronted Emma, saying that all eyes in Las Espadas were on the Dela Torre family, and it was all because of her. Felipe warned his son Luis not to get too involved with Emma, whom he described as unrefined. He believed that associating with her could ruin Luis’ future.
Felipe allowed Luis to flirt with her if he wanted, but made it clear that he should not develop serious feelings. Luis, however, told his father that he was not someone who played with emotions. During the grand ball, a sudden noise startled the guests as something dropped. Ornusa turned to Guada and said she felt an ominous energy in the air.
The master of ceremonies then introduced the brightest sons and daughters of Las Espadas. Emma, Luis, Luna, and the other participants delivered an electrifying performance on the dance floor. Vito could not help but stare, while Guada and Antonia exchanged wary glances. From a distance, Elias imagined himself dancing with Emma instead.
In his daydream, Emma asked if he said he would avoid her. Elias imagined himself laughing, saying he thought he could, but realized he could not. Meanwhile, Tessa stepped into the washroom in tears. A mysterious woman descended the grand staircase and entered the same washroom. It was Camila.
She approached Tessa and said that love often brings tears. Tessa was stunned when Camila called her by name and wondered how the stranger knew her identity. Camila warned her to be cautious, especially since her handsome husband could easily attract other women. She then mentioned making a bid for Tessa’s handbag and left, leaving Tessa visibly shaken.
Back at the ball, Luis praised Emma for her dance skills. He flashed his charming smile before returning to his seat. Intoy then began to plant seeds of jealousy in Elias’ mind, telling him to pursue Emma before the town counselor beat him to it. Justino then joined the Dela Torre table and complimented Emma on her enchanting beauty.
Fueled by jealousy, Elias pulled Luis aside and advised him to be careful about giving Emma too much alcohol, recalling that she didn’t handle it well the last time. Luis, annoyed, told Elias that he would take care of Emma himself since she was his date for the night. He handed her a drink, and she accepted it with a surprised reaction. They toasted together.
Nearby, Vito and Luciano were caught in a heated exchange next to the senator, discussing the downfall of the Dela Torre’s business. Camila, approaching from a distance, caught Vito’s attention and distracted him. Emma and Luis later joined Tatiana, who was talking with Justino about the auction items. Tatiana offered to show Emma the bidding items with Justino.
When Luis offered to come along, Tatiana declined and instead turned Luis’ attention to Felipe, who was flirting with another woman, much to Alice’s jealousy. Luis left to support his mother, while Tatiana and Emma made their way to the other side of the ballroom. Emma asked if Tatiana was wearing the same gown she wore to the last ball. Justino overheard and said Emma was just confirming what he had suspected.
Then, Emma suddenly spotted Camila and, confused, tried to follow her to make sense of what she saw. Tessa ordered the auction items to be prepared while Camila hid to avoid being seen by Emma. The auction started, and the rival families tried to outbid each other. Antonia placed a 90,000 bid, and when Guada attempted to outbid her, Luciano stopped her.
Justino returned to Emma and offered to take her to Tatiana, who, he claimed, was in another room.
Unbeknownst to Emma, Justino was luring her into his secret room with the intention of assaulting her. He commented on how beautiful Tatiana had been at 17, saying Emma reminded him of her. Realizing that Justino was the infamous “J,” Emma fought back.
Despite his efforts to overpower her and throw her onto the bed, she kicked and hit him. As she fled, she bumped into Tatiana, who was holding her phone. Emma quickly realized that Tatiana had orchestrated the entire setup. Tatiana exploded in anger, accusing Emma of ruining her plan to get revenge on Justino.
She revealed that she had been raped by Justino at 17 after trusting him and entering his room. She became pregnant, but was forced to abort, and claimed the experience had left her barren. Tatiana told Emma it was not too late to go through with the plan and let Justino do what he wanted, so they could get it on record.
Emma was horrified that Tatiana wanted to use her as bait. Tatiana explained that she couldn’t use Luna, Mildred, or any other girl because Emma was a perfect match for Justino due to his criminal past and fraudulent identity. She even offered to pay Emma any amount if she agreed to go along with it.
Elsewhere, Camila approached Vito and asked him to dance. She joked about whether his wife would mind him dancing with another woman. Vito asked if she knew him, and she replied that everyone in Las Espadas knew of the famous Vito Dela Cuesta and his tragic love story.
She said he was lucky that his marriage to Camila Dela Torre didn’t happen, or his life would have turned miserable. Vito replied defensively, saying Camila was not a murderer. Camila, keeping her identity hidden, said it was too late to defend someone who had been imprisoned and died while he stood by and did nothing.
Emma ran away, pursued by Tatiana and Justino. Meanwhile, Camila continued probing Vito about the real story behind Camila and Javier’s death. Before Vito could uncover who she was, she vanished. Elias found Emma sitting alone and asked her what was wrong and whether Luis had done something to her.
Emma told him to stay away, expressing exhaustion over always being betrayed by people she trusted. She pushed Elias away and cried, saying that maybe the townspeople were right in claiming she brought bad luck wherever she went.
Suddenly, the lights went out. Elias looked around but couldn’t find Emma.
At that moment, a shocking crime occurred. Justino was found lying lifeless on the floor, stabbed with a knife. Meanwhile, Emma found herself inside a mysterious cave as Elias searched for her in desperation.
