The show begins with a bull riding event where Paco Estrella, the self acclaimed champion lives up to his reputation of being the rodeo king, much to the delight of Freddie his father, the mayor and the audience. Cherry Red helps with the preparations for the fiesta at the Estrella Ranch.
Paco returns home and lends her a hand. With the guests bound to arrive soon, Cherry goes looking for Seb (Paco’s brother) and gets much more than she bargained for.Freddie hosts his guests and while Cherry Red serves them at the table, a Japanese guest makes a pass at her much to Paco’s displeasure.
A couple of the staff discuss the long awaited return of Dave, the oldest among the Estrella siblings. Cherry reflects on a moment when Dave had ki$$ed her. Later, Paco hangs out with her and brings to her remembrance the time he had professed his feelings for her, stating that he would wait for her until she’s ready.
Upon learning that her aunt is making a scene at the plaza again, Cherry Red hurries to the place to restrain her. Dave finally arrives home and is welcomed by some workers and his father. Cherry Red recalls how she had gotten acquainted with the Estrella family after she had inherited a house from Freddie’s late wife Carol.
Presently, the Estrella brothers take Cherry to the beach where they bond together. Later at home, Dave snubs her when she asks to talk to him. A series of flashbacks show how Paco had beaten Dave in giving Cherry a gift and taking her to a dance.
Dave had also witnessed the moment Paco had proposed to her and ki$$ed her. Since Dave had been away for a very long time, Freddie gives Cherry the task of teaching him how things are done in the ranch. Cherry does as instructed by taking Dave on a tour of the ranch and explaining things to him.
She’s taken by surprise when Dave gives her the cold shoulder. Paco tries in vain to reason with his father about the concerns of the farm workers. Meanwhile, Cherry asks Dave why he’s been avoiding her and his only reply is that people grow up and change. Cherry storms off in disbelief.
