Ali Goes Out Of Her Way To Help Prove Joey’s Innocence. Eloy Makes A Rational Decision In Court. A New Witness Comes Forward To Foil Helena & Evangelista’s Schemes.
The episode begins with Ali and Eloy simultaneously going through the files they have on Joey with the assistance of their loved ones – Ali looks forward to prove her father’s innocence while Eloy wants to find concrete evidence to convince her that he isn’t.
Eventually, Ali finds evidence that proves that Joey was somewhere else (in Cebu) with his other daughter during the time of the accident. At the mansion, Jill and Hugo reconcile and make up for lost time. Ali makes a request to Princess for her help in proving Joey’s innocence.
She claims that she’s just the assistant of her father’s attorney. Interestingly, Eloy comes into possession of the very same evidence – a social media post of Joey and Princess – and he shows it to his father and grandma. Fred is inclined to believe that Ali had been right all along.
Speaking of, Ali goes to the precinct to deliver a file that could give Joey a solid alibi for the crime he’s been accused of.Outside the courthouse, Eloy’s camp deliberate. Atty Roma notes that if Joey gets acquitted, they would need additional evidence to prove that Evangelista is the only one involved in Hanna’s dëâth.
Hugo prepares to leave for the hearing, only to learn that Jill is nowhere to be found. Helena sends one of her minions to go and take out her brother. Hugo is the last to arrive in the courtroom. The trial soon begins and when the defense brings out their evidence of Joey’s innocence, Eloy decides not to object to it.
In an interesting turn of events, Evangelista decides to incriminate Joey and himself for Miriam’s dëâth, upsetting Ali. Cue in San Pedro, Atty. Badayos’ assistant who comes bearing good news for her. When all seems lost, Atty. Badayos announces that they have another witness against Evangelista and Helena.
He hands over the hardcopy of the testimony of the witness to the judge. And of course it’s Jill whom San Pedro reveals as the witness. In light of the new evidence, the judge calls the jury to his chambers, thus, adjourning the case.
Helena gets pretty upset over Jill’s betrayal. She vows to take Hugo down if she meets her undoing. At the mansion, Hugo gives Ali a gift of sentimental value, urging her to pursue her dreams. Later, Eloy has a talk with her about the friction between them which boils down to the fact that they both have the same temperament.
Ali arrives home just in time for Rosales’ dinner to make it up to her and her mother. While Eloy sulks in the company of his buddies, Margie counsels Ali on her relationship. The next morning, Helena calls Hugo on the phone, telling him that they need to talk.
