Conflicted With Forced Marriage, Erika Makes A Desperate Attempt To Flee Carrie’s House. Carrie Escapes From The Syndicate
& Ends Up Knocking Down Erika.
The episode began with Carrie checking her medical chart. She heard the syndicate men coming and pretended to be asleep. In the meantime, Erika met up with Samuel and told him that she was not ready to get married. Samuel asked if there was a problem and Erika said that she did not want to rush into it. Instead of cancelling the wedding, Samuel suggested that they postpone it and Erika agreed.
The following day, Erika went to see Jolo, Bruce and Tonyo at the place they were staying. She brought presents for Jolo who was excited to see her. Bruce gushed at how beautiful she looked, wearing Carrie’s clothes and Tonyo simply stared at her. He asked to speak to her and complained about her not breaking up with Samuel.
Erika did not want to argue about it so she told Tonyo that she would try to search for Anna Cruz, the woman who took the notebook. She remembered that Anna mentioned a place called Paraiso when she ran into her at the port.
Tonyo said that there were numerous establishments with the name and Erika said she would go to each one if it was necessary. Tonyo took Erika to a cartographer and they were able to get a sketch of Anna’s face. They listed down all the places with the name Paraiso in Manila and went to each one to ask about Anna Cruz.
Unfortunately, they were not able to get any leads.
Tesa Hechenova, Samuel’s mother, went to the Almeda hospital to complain to Rosemary and Debbie about the wedding getting called off. She was upset that Carrie was humiliating Samuel and told them to fix the situation.
Samuel’s family were the biggest investors of the hospital so Debbie and Rosemary sought to appease them. When Erika got home that evening, Debbie reprimanded her for calling off the wedding. Erika said that she and Samuel already agreed to it but Debbie told her that the wedding was not only about the two of them.
The driver had told her that he picked up Erika at a hotel with another man but Erika said it wasn’t what Debbie was thinking. Debbie however told her not to do anything stüpid. She was worried about losing the investment from the Hechenovas so she told Erika that the wedding was still on.
Agatha was still adamant on going to Manila to get away from Adele. She did not have enough money for the move so she sold the things Adele bought for her from abroad.Erika attended a medical award ceremony with Carrie’s family. Samuel’s mother and grandmother were there as well and Debbie told her to sit with them.
Both Debbie and Rosemary were given honorary awards for their outstanding work in helping families have children. During Rosemary’s speech, she said that she was happy to have created such a legacy since her daughter and grand daughter would continue her work. Erika finally decided that it was time for her to leave because Debbie would not let her cancel the wedding.
She took some money and left a letter for Carrie, promising to pay it back. She was trying to sneak out of the house but Debbie caught her. Erika said it was not right to be forced into marriage.Debbie took it as disrespect and slapped Erika for answering back. She took her wallet and told her that she was banned from leaving the house.
She then ordered her to go back to her room and Erika went up in tears. Meanwhile, Carrie continued to pretend that she was unconscious until the ultimate opportunity arrived. She sneaked past the syndicate guards and ran away but they went after her. She stole a car at a gas station and drove away as the thugs continued to chase her.
After a long highway chase, their car was blocked at an intersection and Carrie was able to get away from them. Debbie talked to Norman about Carrie’s attitude and he told her not to force her into things. Debbie said she was only looking out for their daughter and Norman said that she was too strict with Carrie.
He promised to talk to her so that the two could mend their relationship. Erika was still keen on leaving so she waited until everyone fell asleep and sneaked out of the house successfully. She got past the sleeping guard at the gate and was running off when a car suddenly hit her.
Carrie got out of the car to see if the person was okay and was surprised to see Erika. She accused her of having plastic surgery and getting her kidñappéd to steal her identity. Erika apologized and said that it was all a misunderstanding. She said that they might be twins but Carrie would not fall for it.
Erika therefore decided to run off. She left her things behind and a blood stain remained on her clothes. Carrie took it and went to the hospital. She changed into her own clothes from the office then cut a strand of her hair. She took the bloodied shirt and her hair sample to the lab and asked them to compare the DNAs.
