“A woman…in red. She wanted to make absolutely sure that I’m dead. Until now, I’m still wondering who that woman is. Or if she’s come back.”
Malia continues to listen in as Tristan calls out his aunt for hiding her knowledge of vampires and the fact that his father was a Luna soldier. Betty mentions that she and Tonio had only kept him in the dark to protect him, and Tristan laments over how her silence had made him question his sanity.
Betty reveals that his father had quit being a Luna soldier because he didn’t want what had happened to his mother to befall either him or his sister. Taken by surprise yet again, Tristan asks what had happened to his mother. Samantha gives Prof T an earful for having allowed Tristan to go ahead with his plan, thereby putting his life in danger. Prof T argues that he’s merely protecting his beliefs and principles.
Back at the Toralbas, Betty tells Tristan that his mother was also a Luna soldier but had been bitten and turned into a vampire after she had given birth to Apple. She then bluntly reveals Star’s vision of him turning into a vampire. Back at Moonchasers HQ, Prof T literally salutes Tristan’s determination to protect innocent lives even at the detriment of himself.
“I’m not going to let a mere prediction dictate my life,” Tristan says to his aunt. “I’m not going to be a vampire. I’d rather die than become one.”
Betty pleads with her nephew to put a stop to everything he’s been doing, but he refuses to do so, saying that it is his duty as a member of the Moonchasers to ensure the safety of his family.
A moment later, Tristan brings Toni (Malia) to introduce her to his aunt as a fellow Moonchaser, adding that Jake and the others outside are also part of their group. He then talks his aunt into not restricting him from carrying out his duty. Gilbert (Supremo) has a nurse attend to Jacinta.
Once she regains consciousness, she asks what had happened and Gilbert says she had collapsed earlier and had a bad fall. He urges her to get some rest and Jacinta thanks him for carrying her to her room. Meanwhile, Tristan has a talk with Toni (Malia), going on about how he’s now relieved that his aunt Betty knows of his status as a Moonchaser.
“It’s good that I’m no longer hiding anything from the people who are important to me.”
Malia looks on silently, guilt stricken. Sometime later, Tristan introduces her to the rest of his family. Apple gets all excited and brands her as her brother’s boyfriend. She urges Tristan to court Toni already, and Betty and her grandparents call her to order as Tristan asks her to stop embarrassing him. Toni seems to see the humor in it as Apple continues to tease her brother about her being his girlfriend.
Omar the traitor reaches out to Senator Paglinauan and urges him to help him recapture Tristan before Supremo learns of his failure. The miserable old man agrees to take care of the matter. Meanwhile, Toni has a talk with Tristan and insists on staying behind with the other Moonchasers to watch over him.
Tristan expresses his appreciation and heads back inside. A moment later, he spots Toni and Jake sitting closely and conversing. While Senator Paglinauan spies on Betty and Apple the next morning, Prof T briefs the Moonchasers on their mission against the miserable senator.
Tristan leads his group and Toni (Malia) ends up in Jake’s. She tries to talk Prof T into joining Tristan’s group, all to no avail. Gilbert meets up with Jacinta and hands her some files and documents about Youtopia and all the nationwide communities they’ve been helping. Jacinta smiles.
“What’s funny?” Gilbert asks.
“You’re just too serious,” Jacinta remarks. “Loosen up. I’m not going to die anytime soon. There’s no need to rush.”
Jacinta asks Gilbert about his family, particularly his parents and he reluctantly mentions that his mother’s name is Maria Villalobo. He then reveals how his mother had tried to k!ll him during his childhood. Of course he leaves out the numerous atrocities that had driven Maria to that extent.
