Noel Celebrates His Anniversary With Joyce. Joyce’s Mother Strongly Opposes Their Relationship & Plans To Get Her Daughter A Job Abroad. Complications Arise When Joyce Gets Pregnant.
Noel went to see his girlfriend Joyce at her workplace. Since it was their anniversary, he came along with a bouquet of flowers. Noel then took Joyce out to dinner and they talked about their life together and Joyce’s dream of going to work at the Castillo realty so that she could be able to kick start her career and support her family.
Later, Noel took Joyce home where they were greeted by Imelda, Joyce’s ever angry mother. She insulted Noel and scolded Joyce for coming home late since there was no food. Joyce had brought some food with her so she gave it to her mother.
She stayed outside talking with Noel until her mother shouted for her to go inside the house and stop talking with her useless boyfriend. While having dinner, Imelda told Joyce to stop hanging out with a mechanic who had nothing to offer her.Imelda charged her daughter to find someone with money, adding that she was organizing for Joyce to go and work in Canada.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo was scheduled to receive an achievement award for his realty company but his wife Alejandra made it crystal clear that she wouldn’t be attending the event. Ronaldo therefore felt safe inviting Kristine to the event since his wife would not be there. He told Kristine to attend the event and even gave her a new phone so that she could record her dad.
Joyce had booked an appointment at Castillo Realty which was her dream job but as she was about to go see Sir Ronaldo. Alejandra saw her practicing her introduction in the company’s lady’s room. She followed Joyce outside and told her that she was not going to win over her husband with her charm. On this note, Joyce left without going in for her interview.
The day for Ronaldo’s awarding came and Joyce took the opportunity to see if she could get a chance to talk to Mr. Ronaldo. Kristine was also in attendance while Alejandra arrived much later in the company of her son Lawrence. They got there after Ronaldo gave his speech and Lawrence headed straight for Kristine to ask for her name. Kristine told him that she was a fan of his father before scurrying away.
Alejandra became suspicious and followed Kristine outside to ask how she knew Ronaldo. Kristine told her that she had just met him at the event then hurriedly got into a taxi and left. Back inside, Joyce was trying to gather up the courage to walk up to Ronaldo and when she stepped forward, she bumped into Lawrence and fainted in his arms.
Lawrence carried her to a seat and gave her some water. He was unable to get her name because his mother came looking for him.The two of them went to Ronaldo but Lawrence who did not get along with his father started arguing with him about his lifestyle.
Ronaldo got a call from Kristine so he lied to Alejandra and Lawrence that he had to go back to the office and left them. When Ronaldo met up with Kristine, he apologized for how his wife had showed up abruptly and promised to find a way to find a way so that she could have a place in his life.
Noel went to pick up Joyce and took her to the hospital where she was attended to by the doctor. He was overjoyed when it was announced that Joyce was two months pregnant. Noel told Joyce he was willing to face her parents and take responsibility for the baby. Joyce didn’t look as happy he was though.
When they got to Joyce’s place, they arrived in the middle of a family squab as Lesley received a beating for gambling and playing video games. Joyce told Noel to leave since it was not a good time. Later, Joyce’s mother, Imelda, told her that she had already secured a job for her in Canada and she did not need any money because it would be deducted from her pay.
Joyce had no choice but to let her mother know that she could no longer leave for Canada because she was pregnant. Imelda burst into a fit of rage as she descended on her daughter and unleashed her wrath on her, pulling her hair and dragging her outside where Noel and his father were able to witness the abuse.
Noel quickly went to Joyce’s defense and told her mother that he would take Joyce away since she was always being hurt by her family. Joyce tried to reason with her mother but the woman accused Joyce of deliberately getting pregnant so that she would no longer take care of her family.
