Cassie was glad that both their families were celebrating the new year together. Meanwhile, the rest of the Bartolomes had decided to celebrate with Daniela. Kulas knocked on her door but didn’t get any response. Carlos thanked Romina for letting Marga stay and helping with Carlitos.
Staring at the spoon she was feeding the baby with, she flashed back to the night they had caught Daniela at the vacant lot as well as her talk with Neil and Bonita. Daniela arrived home, glad to meet Marga there. Marga said she was there to get her things. Meanwhile, Neil gave Romina the glass Carlos had used and Carlitos’ spoon from last night. Mina revealed that they were for a DNA test.
“A what?”
“You were the one who wanted to know Daniela’s motive for k!lling Jessa,” Mina replied.
“Are you saying Daniela took Jessa’s baby?” Neil offered in disbelief.
“And Carlitos is Kulas’ son.”
Myrna and Kulas tried convincing Carlos into not leaving his wife along with their kids. Carlos reminded them that Marga had decided to move out on her own. Romina handed over Carlos and Carlitos’ DNA samples to a guy to have tested as Daniela spied. A moment later, Danny girl confronted the guy as he was on his way out, threatening him with jail time and the illegalities of running a DNA test without the consent of the parties involved. While cleaning the room, Gino found a romantic photo of her mother with Jessa. He confronted her about it.
Myrna apologized profusely for leaving, recounting how his dad had been overly abusive back then. Kulas walked in on the scene, asking what was going on. Reluctantly, Gino covered for his mother. He however snubbed her soon after. Daniela was gloating over how she had outsmarted Romina. Savannah asked if she was sure that no one would know about her orphan’s true identity.
“No,” Danny girl said as she fished out the samples. “Not a single…” A smiley face, drawn on the glass cup stared back at her mockingly. “This can’t be.”
“Why? What’s wrong?”
“It’s all a ploy. Romina’s tricked me.”
Romina came out of the house to meet Daniela’s unending rantings, confronting her about Carlos and Carlitos’ DNA samples. Mina played dumb. Flashback : Jepoy had spotted a car outside that was probably tailing them. He told Romina about it.
“Did you see who’s in it?” Romina asked.
“I didn’t. Want me to check?” Jepoy offered.
“You don’t have to. I have a good feeling I know who it is. Neil, take the DNA samples to the clinic. I have a mouse to catch.”
Present : Neil and Romina mocked Daniela, playing dumb. Mina then gave an ultimatum – Hector’s location in exchange for her silence regarding the DNA.
“You have two days,” Romina stated. “And if you don’t tell me where Hector is, I hope you’re ready to see your life come crashing down.”
Daniela called Romina and set up a meeting to sabotage her. Meanwhile, the miserable one-eyed old man hounded the witness in Jessa’s case, refusing to believe that he had given an honest testimony. Some goons came to abduct him and took him away.
While Myrna took it upon herself to reconcile with her son, Romina met up with Daniela, who tried to send her flying down from the top of the building in order to keep her secret safe. Turning the tables, Mina had a war of words with her, with Daniela blaming her for everything.
“What about Jessa? Did you also k!ll her because of me?!”
Kulas approached unnoticed.
“I didn’t k!ll Jessa,” Daniela argued. “She died while giving birth.”
“But after that, you took her child!” Romina countered. “You took Carlitos with you. You stole Mr. Kulas and Jessa’s baby.”
Kulas came over, shock ridden, demanding to know if Carlitos was really his son. Daniela admitted to it. “You lying b*tch!” he yelled, following up with a slap. “I defended you from everyone. I kept your darkest secret. And this is what I get in return for everything?”
Out of nowhere came Bernard who restrained Kulas from teaching her a much needed lesson.
“I rue the day you married my son!”
Some officers suddenly appeared on the scene.
“Arrest her now!”
Marga brought Cassie some food to thank her for letting her stay the other day. She found the DNA test results which showed that Carlitos was related to Carlos by 25%. She later went home to ask her grandma and uncle about it.
While Romina had a battle of words with Daniela at the precinct, taunting her over how her family had left her, the Bartolomes were wondering how Carlitos was related to Carlos. Marga insinuated to her dad that they could be half siblings, judging from research. Kulas arrived home to reveal that Carlitos was his baby with Jessa, mentioning how Daniela had connived with Hector, adding that he had had her arrested.
Daniela called her bratty lapdog and blackmailed her into finding her a good lawyer. Later, her attorney assured to have her released if she had the money to afford bail. Daniela asked if she could get money from her dad’s account and the attorney said it was possible since it was conjugal property.
Danny girl wasn’t thrilled with having just 33% and the scum of a lawman went on about how she could get everything once Romina and her stepsister were removed from the picture. A goon who had been eavesdropping earlier placed a phone call. To Hector. “Daniela’s working to be freed.”
