Janine Puts Up A Front On Her Husband’s Account. Yvonne & Janine Spend New Year’s Eve With Their Families & Loved Ones. Victor Begins To Get Weary Of Albert.
Marcus asks his mother about her supposed friendship with Janine and why they’re both lying to his father. Yvonne explains that Victor’s condition could worsen if he comes to know the truth and Marcus apologizes and promises to behave so his father wouldn’t be affected.
Marlon hangs out at a restaurant with Mimi and Shakira and he begins to blabber sweet nothings to the former who freely flirts back. Janine reflects on some memories with Victor and she resolves to console her daughter when she starts acting all dramatic again on account of her “father’s” absence.
After Marlon leaves for home, Mimi begins blabbering about her fondness for him and how Yvonne is meant to be her sister-in-law. Shakira expresses his disapproval, saying that she’s just drunk and would come back to her senses once she sobers up tomorrow.
Carmen strives to deal with the first New Year without her husband and Yvonne tries to console her. Janine hangs out with Phoebe at the restaurant and agrees to introduce her to her husband when he returns from Singapore.
Supposedly. Albert calls Yvonne on the phone and manages to convince her to meet up with him later, saying that he has some gifts for her and Marcus. Victor eavesdrops and when he later offers to accompany his “wife” out, she turns him down.
At the salon, Mimi goes on gushing about Marlon and how they’re meant to be together and Shakira expresses her disapproval yet again. They later visit the Aguiluz residence but meet their friend’s absence. Carmen then invites them to join the family for New Year’s Eve.
In the meantime, Albert meets up with Yvonne and after they talk about the business trip he had taken recently, he gives her the gifts he had brought along. Eventually, he drops her off at home and Victor doesn’t look happy to see them together.
As Sonia and her family talk about the New Year’s Eve, Daria shows up with a young man called Weiwei and introduces him as her boyfriend. During dinner, Gary expresses his disapproval of their huge age gap and manages to drive his mother’s boyfriend away.
As expected, Daria blows a fuse. Following Dale’s failure to find Janine, he receives a visit from his mother and isn’t even enthused when she reveals that she had brought a car for him as a gift.
Yvonne gladly spends the last day of the year with her family and loved ones while Janine does same with her daughter and best friend, though somber on account of her husband’s absence. Daria rants nonstop about how her son had humiliated her boyfriend earlier and she gets all dramatic as she urges him to give him a chance so she could be happy with him.
Gary apologizes and gives into his mother’s wishes. The countdown for the New Year begins simultaneously at Yvonne’s, Sonia’s and Janine’s houses, coupled with fireworks and excitement. Janine and Audrey in particular look like they’re in some kind of mourning.
The next morning, Victor pays a visit to his mother to wish her a happy new year and tell her of how things have been going at home, as well as the uncomfortable feeling he has been experiencing. Yvonne checks out her ex-husband’s workshop and it brings back sweet memories that make her very emotional.
She laments over why Victor had to come back to her now. Speaking of, Victor reaches out to Gary and Louie and makes known his plan to start working again. Louie makes him believe that he used to work with construction equipment.
Victor hopes to start working again so he can buy his “wife” a secondhand car so she wouldn’t have to come home late or ride with her boss any longer. Eventually, Gary drops him off at home and gives him some money to buy some gifts for his family.
He then reflects on how Yvonne had sold her car to contribute anonymously to Victor’s hospital bills. Presently, Gary states that Yvonne has been so good to Victor and he hopes that he would be able to make her and their son happy.
While Marcus happily learns some “magic tricks” from Albert, Yvonne brings him some snacks, coinciding with Victor’s arrival home. The episode concludes as they all stare at each other.
