“My family isn’t going to be the only one taking the fall. I’ll make you miserable too! Are you and Robert afraid that Romina will learn about your little secret?”
Romina called Robert on the phone, confirming the fact that Hector was the mastermind behind his accident. Rosita listened in and informed Hector. A moment later, Romina stormed into the Mangubat house with the police to arrest Hector. Roxy was stunned. Robert tailgated Hector and caught up with him. He got off his motorbike, a steel pipe in hand.
Before Hector could grab his güñ, Robert went at him and dished out a brutal beatdown. Hector managed to reach his güñ and Robert took cover as he staggered to his feet and fired. Mad. Rosita came to help him get away as Robert stared gloomily from his hiding spot.
Robert arrived at the Mangubat house and informed Romina of the incident earlier. Meanwhile, Rosita drove Hector right by some couple of policemen outside the house. Social service brought Roxanne to the Herreras to stay with them for some time. Meanwhile, Hector promised to satisfy Rosita’s greed for money once she took him to his brother’s place.
Romina took the police to question Daniela about Hector’s whereabouts since she had hidden the evidence against him. Robert sent them off and revealed to Mina that he already knew about it, claiming that he was the one who had told Daniela to keep it. Hector told his brother to give Rosita enough cash to keep her mouth shut.
“I knew Robert was just pretending to be sick to cover up the plans he had,” Alvin said.
“The b*stard,” Hector spat. “He almost k!lled me. We’ll get back at him. As soon as I recover. We’ll finish the job. The job we failed to do back then.”
The chief updated Romina on the search for Hector. Bernard then informed her that the video recording was admissible in court and couldn’t be used as evidence.
“But there’s another way.”
“What is it?” Romina asked.
“The one who took the video must stand as witness. And that’s Daniela.”
Roxanne called her father on phone and asked whether he had really tried to k!ll Robert. Hector evaded the question and told her not to tell anyone that they were in contact. The line went dead as Roxy tried to convince her father to come out of hiding. Leon came over and tried talking her into doing the right thing. “You said it yourself. If he’s innocent, then why’s he in hiding?”
“I don’t want pappa to end up like uncle Alvin.”
“His life could be in danger the longer he stays in hiding. It’s hard seeing your father in prison. But it’s harder not knowing where he is or if he’s still alive.”
Leon brought Roxanne to see Romina at the mansion. Roxy told her that she would help her find her father because she’d rather see him safe in prison than shot by a cop. Roxanne called her father and put on a show, asking him to come and get her. Hector said he’d meet her up at the vacant lot near her school. Daniela and her bratty daughter arrived home to find Roxanne there. Romina announced that Roxy had decided to help them arrest her father.
“Do you really trust that girl?” Danny girl said.
“Compared to you? Yes,” Leon shot.
Romina was then surprised when Daniela agreed to cooperate with them. Hector made contact with his daughter on his way over to the rendezvous point. Roxy led him on as team Romina looked on from the shadows. A moment later, Hector arrived and asked where her things were.
“Pa, I’m sorry,” Roxy sobbed.
Hector stared in comprehension as the police surrounded him and asked him to surrender. He however pulled out his güñ and fired off some shots and made his escape. He soon ran into Daniela. Robert spied as he exchanged a few words with her before running off again.
Robert caught up with Hector and began wrestling with him for the güñ. The police came upon the scene and subdued Hector. Romina and Robert glared as Hector laughed. At the precinct, the Mondragons looked on as Hector was dragged in, still claiming that he was innocent. Romina called him up short.
“My family isn’t going to be the only one taking the fall,” Hector said. “I’ll make you miserable too!”
“C’mon, dad,” Daniela urged. “Romina, let the police handle him.”
“Are you and Robert afraid that Romina will learn about your little secret?”
Robert got into Hector’s face. “What secret?”
“You know what it is.”
“Say it.”
“Should I, Daniela?”
As Romina looked on in confusion, Danny girl restrained her father while the officers took Hector away. Mina asked what Hector had meant and Daniela trivialized the matter. Robert had made up his mind to tell Romina the truth now that Hector was behind bars.
Daniela however managed to emotionally blackmail him out of it. Hector told his attorney to warn his brother to leave his current hideout before the police caught him too. The lawyer was reluctant to until Hector threatened him. The Mondragons were glad that Hector had finally been caught.
Meanwhile, Alvin received a phone call from Hector’s lawyer, telling him about Hector’s arrest and then passing on the warning. Romina flashed back to the incident at the precinct earlier. Cassie came over to ask if there was something wrong and Mina evaded the question. Daniela confronted Alvin at Zen Condominium and tried talking him into telling his brother not to reveal her secret.
Alvin refused to be fooled and started walking away. Danny girl got into her car, accelerated and knocked him down. She then dragged him into her car and started driving away as a homeless man looked on. Robert assured Romina that Hector wouldn’t bother them again. “I løvë you so much, Romina.”
