Janine Strives To Make Amends. Marlon Reconciles With His Mother. Victor Finally Wakes Up & Leaves Yvonne Shocked & Janine Devastated.
The attorney points out to Yvonne that they still have a strong case against Victor but she insists on letting go so she can move on and focus on her son.
Sonia sits by her comatose son’s bedside and talks to him, all the while trying to ignore Daria’s irritable snoring. Janine resolves to use her house as a collateral for a loan from an acquaintance of hers in order to acquire enough money for Victor’s brain surgery.
Later at the hospital, the doctor makes arrangement to have Victor taken to the operating room and Janine begins with her drama, lamenting over her short-lived happiness as a married couple and hoping that her husband would survive and return home to her.
The long process of the brain surgery begins and Janine paces around outside in agitation. Gary talks to Yvonne on phone to update her on the situation and she also hopes that Victor comes out of it alive.
Carmen is relieved when Marlon finally returns home and makes amends with her. She lectures him on his ways and urges him to change and not let anger take over his heart. Marlon apologizes to her and promises to change for her.
As the brain surgery continues, Yvonne shows up at the hospital to find everyone asleep with the exception of Janine. After a moment of staring, she reluctantly takes the unoccupied seat next to her. In an interesting turn of events, both women resolve to give each other comfort for a little while.
The doctor soon comes out to announce that the operation had been successful, though Victor would have to be confined in the ICU again and observed until the moment he wakes up. Janine, Sonia and the rest of the family are glad with the good news. As Yvonne leaves, Janine goes after her and makes a futile attempt to make peace with her.
Albert spends some time with Marcus and tells him the story of the origin of his “magic tricks”. Gary gives Janine a little contribution for Victor’s hospital bills. Later, Janine has a talk with Carla about her relationship status and wonders about how she can be able to get Victor’s family to accept her.
Carmen takes Marcus to visit his departed grandpa’s gravesite and he pleads forgiveness for all of his father’s shortcomings and prays that he doesn’t die. So Janine tirelessly spends most of her time at her husband’s bedside, talking to him nonstop. There comes a point in time when she starts to get frustrated with getting no response.
Eventually, Victor happens to regain consciousness and Janine is excited but only for a little while. Victor starts crying out for Yvonne, believing that she’s still his wife. When Janine recovers from the shock, she hurries out to notify the doctor about her husband’s recovery and she comes to check up on him.
Victor seems to remember his mother and the rest of the family and Janine is devastated when he still doesn’t recognize her. Gary tries to cheer her up by saying that her husband might regain his memories of her when he starts getting better.
In the meantime, Victor pesters his mother with questions about his family and Sonia agrees to bring them over. A moment later, she calls Yvonne on the phone to tell her about the current situation and urges her to come and pay her son a visit.
Yvonne is taken by surprise. In the ICU, the doctor coaches Victor to recount the things and people he still remembers and not once does he mention Janine or her flower farm. Yvonne shows up just then and Victor begins to get all dramatic and lovey-dovey.
Janine adds to the drama as she makes another futile, pathetic attempt to get Victor to remember her.Sonia drags her out and gives her a talking-to. Back inside, Yvonne painstakingly plays along to her misëräble ex-husband’s delusions, getting all emotional with his words and mannerisms.
The doctor briefs Janine and Sonia about Victor’s condition being retrograde amnesia. When asked if it’s only temporary, the doctor gives a vague answer and urges that they shouldn’t try to pressure Victor to remember the memories he’s forgotten since it could affect his sanity.
Meanwhile, Yvonne sits by Victor’s bedside and recounts how he had ruined their family, saying that it’s too late for him to come back to her because she doesn’t have any more løvë for him. Janine laments over her situation and she desperately hopes for Victor to remember and come back to her.
