“You are connected to the suspect the police arrested. They saw on his phone that you two were talking on the day of the incident. Don’t you feel a tinge of guilt for what you did?You hurt my daughter! Who else could have done this?! Who else could hurt a young girl? Tell me, who?! Tell me!”
Leon told Romina about how she and Cassie reminded him of his family. Mina said he couldn’t really blame her because she had to be careful because she didn’t know who was working for Daniela. “That’s exactly why I stopped you earlier,” Leon said. “I’m sure Daniela has something up her sleeves. Why are you so concerned about Camila employees anyway?”
“Because I am the only one who is capable of helping them. They used to work for me.”
“But you don’t have to sacrifice yourself for them, Romina. Daniela almost ruined your reputation earlier.”
“Leon, I can’t let them suffer. I see the employees of Camila as family. Robert entrusted them to me before he passed away.”
“Who’s Robert?”
“My husband. He’s the one who established Camila.”
Daniela was gloating over how she had ruined Romina’s reputation, silenced ‘those ingrates’ (the factory workers) and gained everyone’s sympathy. Nanny Esther came over to ask about the feast they were organizing. She hugged Daniela gladly, hoping that the baby would help fix her marriage with Carlos.
After Esther left, Daniela was going back inside when she noticed that a guard had fallen unconscious. She went over to check on him, only to be sneaked up on by Hector, who confronted her about her pregnancy. Danny girl said she had nothing to explain. She asked him to leave after arguing for a while.
“You’ll regret what you did today,” Hector spat. “You can’t just toss me aside like I’m human garbage. The day will come when you’ll need me again. And when that day comes, I’ll think carefully whether I should help you or not.”
Back at the cemetery, Romina went on about how her late husband’s daughter was the reason for her and her daughter’s suffering. “She’s the reason for what happened to Cassie before. And instead of apologizing, she used that chance to take away everything Robert left us. But I won’t stop until I take back what is rightfully ours.”
“It will be tough to carry out your plan.”
“I know that. But I’m willing to do whatever it takes to see it through.”
“If you really want to succeed, then you have to act before Daniela does. I’m sure she’ll find a way to ruin your credibility. You’re going to have to reveal the truth before she can do that.”
Mini-Daniela pestered Kristoff, trying to convince him to ride with her home. Kristoff turned down her offer and walked off. Marga then caught Mikoy spying on her. She called him a stalker but Mikoy denied it. They then argued over the deal they had had about Cassie and Kristoff breaking up for good. The driver pulled over and Mikoy got into the car with Marga, much to her dismay. He asked the driver to drop him off at the car shop since he and Marga weren’t done talking.
Nanny Esther told Daniela that the food was getting cold and yet, neither Carlos nor Marga had showed. Cassie was making some sardines at home when a phone call came in from Kristoff. Neil stopped her from answering. Cassie pleaded to talk to him but Neil wouldn’t let her since they were on a break, adding that her mother wouldn’t have asked her to do it if it wasn’t what was best for her.
“But it’s not easy to do what mamma says,” Cassie sobbed.
“I know that, Cassie. But it will be harder for you if you keep talking to him.”
Neil placed Cassie’s phone on the table, and another call came in a second later. Cassie sobbed silently as she watched her phone ring. “Cassie, I miss you,” Kristoff said to himself back home.
Cassie was taking out the trash when she saw Kristoff coming over. She asked what he was doing there, and Kristoff said he had been worried because she wasn’t answering his calls. Cassie told him that it would be for the best if they didn’t talk for a while.
Kristoff lamented about how unfair it was since they hadn’t done anything wrong, and Cassie pleaded that he bear with the situation since their parents might not allow them to be together again if they went against them. As Kristoff gave Cassie a goodbye hug, Romina and Leon walked in on the scene.
Mina sent Kristoff off. Marga paid a visit to her father at the autoshop, and Carlos told her about his intention of splitting up with her mother. Marga looked on in shock. Cassie apologized to her mother for seeing Kristoff. Romina said she knew her situation was difficult. She offered to help her.
“Just promise me this wouldn’t happen again.”
“I promise.”
Romina gave her daughter a consolation hug. Back at the autoshop, Marga lamented as Mikoy sadly watched the scene from the outside. Carlos had already made up his mind since he couldn’t stand Daniela anymore. He however promised to keep on being a father to her and his unborn child. “I don’t want the baby to go through what you did,” Carlos said. “Seeing your parents fight everyday. I want you to have a happy life.”
Marga eyed Mikoy as she sprang up to her feet. “If you want me to be happy, then you won’t tear our family apart. You won’t break up with mommy.”
Bernard had a talk with his son about him going to the Mondragon house. Kristoff apologized, saying that he had only been worried about Cassie because she hadn’t been answering his calls. Bernard lectured him on how best it would be for him if he listened to them. “Prioritize your studies,” Bernard said. “And focus on yourself first. That way, you can prove to Romina that you are the right person for Cassie.”
Hector gave his brother the deed to the penthouse he had wanted before, telling him that he could live there now because he had bought it for him. Alvin was excited. He asked what had changed his mind and Hector told him that he had only been treading cautiously because he had wanted to keep Daniela safe. Alvin tried convincing him into starting a new life somewhere else but Hector said he couldn’t leave because he had a kid to take care of.
At the mansion, Daniela was actually talking to her baby, assuring it that they would celebrate as soon as it’s dad and sister came back home. A heartbroken Marga arrived just then and informed her mother about her father’s decision to leave them. Leon had a talk with Romina, prompting her to come up with a new plan to best Daniela. Mina said the truth was on her side even though Daniela had the public’s sympathy.
“What do you mean by that?” Leon asked.
“I’ll continue seeking justice for Cassie, and I’ll prove that Daniela’s lying.”
Daniela was pretty upset that Carlos wasn’t answering her calls. She told Savannah about her husband wanting to file for annulment. Savvy tried cheering her up, revealing that their sales had gone up in major supermarkets since tons of people had sympathized with her on account of her interview. Savvy then asked her to stop sulking because the board wanted to talk to her.
Romina told Bernard about her intended plan of connecting the hired k!ller to Daniela. Leon added that they had to find the goon’s belongings and get hold of some leverage to bring Daniela down. Bernard then revealed that the hired k!ller had some stuff on him which the police had confiscated before he escaped.
Kristoff tried to talk to Cassie about last night, but LJ and Fatima interrupted him so he decided to let the matter rest for now. After Kristoff left, Cassie asked Mikoy that they go to class but Mikoy decided to wait outside for a bit. The board was not happy with the publicity stunt Daniela had pulled off the other day, as well as the problems with the factory workers and their overproduced products.
Daniela assured them that she had everything under control. Danny girl got upset when they mentioned that they had to come up with a way of making Romina’s corned beef sell in stores. At the precinct, Romina and Bernard checked out the hired k!ller’s stuff. Mina went through the goon’s phone.
“That’s strange. Only one number keeps popping up. We need to find out who this is.”
“I’ll have the number traced,” the officer said. (Just another proof that the police are useless. So you didn’t think of going through the scumbag’s phone to find who he worked for? Id*ots)
Alvin was happily packing up his stuff when some officers came over to invite Hector over to the station for questioning. The factory workers made a show of quitting their jobs at Camila, and Daniela mocked them with the new replacements that had just come in. Danny girl was prepared to pay them double to spite those who had quit. She then ordered the new recruits to clean up the mess the factory workers had made. Kulas was upset with Carlos’ decision to leave his wife. He asked him to go home, saying that he wouldn’t allow him to live with them in the house and abandon his family.
“I’d rather live on the streets than go back to that house,” Carlos declared. “If you don’t want me here, then fine. I’ll find another house.” Carlos stormed out with his stuff.
Daniela had a talk with a staff and charged her to give her solutions to the company’s problems. The woman argued that the new recruits had to be trained for some time so production wasn’t affected. Danny girl ranted on, demanding that the new recruits begin work immediately. And without even a single day of training.
Daniela put on a show at a charity event, spouting some crap she probably didn’t believe in. The staff were grateful for her support and hoped that she got ‘justice’ for her supposed kidñappiñg ordeal. Danny girl spouted more crap and resorted to sharing the gifts she had brought to those in attendance. She then had a call from Hector.
“Hello. Now what?”
“Did you have a hand in this?”
“In what? I don’t understand.”
“I’m at the police station now, for questioning regarding Cassie’s case.”
Cassie asked her friends why they had taken her away from Kristoff when she had just wanted to talk to him. LJ and Fatima admitted that her mother had made them promise to keep her away from him. Cassie understood the situation, saying that it would help her and Tope give each other some space. The bell rang just then. Cassie left for class while Mikoy stayed behind to ask the girls about Marga.
Marga was sulking in her room when Nanny Esther came over and tried talking some sense into her, asking her to try and understand her parents and not be playing around with her school. Mini-Daniela only got more upset and kicked the older woman out of her room. At the precinct, Romina unleashed her anger and frustrations on Hector, who only denied having any hand in anything.
“You are connected to the suspect the police arrested,” Romina declared as Daniela was walking in. Danny girl stopped dead in her tracks. “They saw on his phone that you two were talking on the day of the incident,” Mina went on. “Don’t you feel a tinge of guilt for what you did? You hurt a young child. You hurt my daughter!”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Hector claimed. “You’re barking up the wrong tree.”
“Who else could have done this?!”
“I’m not the man you’re looking for.”
“Who else could hurt a young girl?”
Daniela and Alvin looked on.
“Tell me, who?! Tell me!”
“I did!” Alvin cut in. “I hired the suspect. My brother’s telling the truth. He’s innocent.”
Romina turned to stare at Bernard in disbelief. Hector fumed. Romina glared as Daniela looked on from her hiding place. Mikoy went to the mansion to keep Marga company since she had not shown up for school. Mini-Daniela gave him attitude. Mikoy then resorted to blackmailing her to go with him to school with the lie that Kristoff and Cassie had patched things up. Back at the precinct, Alvin insisted that his brother was innocent and he was the only one responsible for the crime. But of course Romina didn’t believe it.
“I had men working for me,” Alvin taunted. “I was just getting my revenge for everything you did to me. Too bad your daughter got hurt though.”
Romina pounced on Alvin as Bernard tried holding her back. “How dare you?!”
“Officers, you heard Alvin’s confession,” Bernard prompted. “Arrest him now.”
The officers subdued Alvin. Hector stopped them as they were taking him away. “You idïøt,” he hissed. “Why did you do that?” Alvin was crying as his brother bid him goodbye with a hug. Romina however tried pounding him with her bag as the officers took him away. Hector was seething as Romina glared at him, while Daniela was smiling to herself triumphantly a safe distance away.
