“I’m taking out the trash here too. Hector’s being dealt with. Next, Romina. I told you. There’s no problem I can’t solve. I’m not Daniela Mondragon for nothing.”
Bonita told Romina about how Mrs. Galvez’s secretary was protecting the expansion documents. Neil insinuated that something fishy could be going on, and Mina said they had to choose people they trusted so they didn’t get blindsided. “How will we get the documents?” Bernard asked. “What if they were passed around so we can’t track down who currently has it?”
“We need to be watchful,” Mina replied. “So we don’t get confused. Those documents hold the answers were looking for, and once we get them, we’ll stand a good chance against Daniela.”
Romina and the others noticed Savannah eavesdropping from the outside. Mikoy tried stopping Marga and talking some sense into her. Mini-Daniela was however as determined as always to be a 1st class ass. She stormed into Cassie’s hospital room and started spouting some nonsense about how she should be grateful that her mother had saved her. Kristoff reminded her that her saint of a mother wasn’t a saint at all and Cassie didn’t have to show gratitude since she had taken all their inheritance in return.
“Stop blaming Cassie for something she didn’t do,” Kristoff grumbled. “Just get out.”
Mini-Daniela stormed out. Mikoy exchanged some words with Kristoff about failing to understand his puppet master. Romina offered Bonita some money after overhearing her conversation with her sister about how she needed funds to enroll in school. Bonita was reluctant to accept, but Mina argued that she was only returning the favor since she had helped her out so many times before.
“But you need this too,” Bonita pointed out.
“I still have some money,” Mina stated. “Cassie and I can live simple lives like we did before. What’s most important is that we’re all together as a family again.”
Mrs. Galvez complained about how Bonita had tried to get information out of her secretary. Daniela decided to get rid of her, and Mrs. Galvez mentioned that they needed solid evidence against her to accomplish that. Daniela made a call. “Hello. I have a proposition for you.”
At the hospital, Romina received a phone call from Bonita. She then told Bernard about the possible anonymous client who wanted to meet up with her. Bernard warned her that it could be another one of Daniela’s schemes. Mina said she’d be careful, and she couldn’t doubt everyone’s motives even knowing that Daniela was planning to kick her out of the company.
Work at the auto shop had piled up since it had been closed for a week following Jude’s dëäth. Mikoy offered to work on the other cars. Carlos asked about his father, and Myrna told him that he had gone to the police station to pick up the stuff Jude had left there.
“He was helping with Romina’s case all this time,” Myrna mentioned. “But he never got to solve it.”
“Don’t worry about it, mom,” Carlos said. “I’ll continue what he started. “I’ll help Romina figure things out.”
“But son, that will only worsen things between you and Daniela.”
“Even if Romina wasn’t in the picture, Daniela and I were bound to separate. I can’t stand her anymore.”
“Don’t say that, son. You have a child together. Do you want Marga to hold a grudge against you like how you resented me when I left?”
“Sir, she’s still affected by everything that’s going on,” Mikoy cut in.
The chief of police gave Kulas his condolences and commended Jude as one of their best investigators. Kulas regretted allowing Jude to join the police force after what had happened to his eye. An officer came over. “Sir, there is something you need to know about Bartolome.”
“What’s it about?” asked the chief.
“Before the incident, he came to file a report against a group of men who tried to abduct him.”
Kulas looked on as the officer gave the chief the case file. “A report? Someone threatened my son? Who was it?”
“Hector Mangubat.”
Daniela met up with Hector and gave him what he had asked for, demanding that he leave her alone. “Everything is now settled. I don’t even want to see your shadow. The deal is over and done.”
Danny girl then had a phone call from Savannah, telling her that she had already taken care of what she had asked her to do. “Good. I’m taking out the trash here too. Hector’s being dealt with. Next, Romina.”
Kristoff brought LJ and Fatima to see Cassie at her new house. Neil came over with her niece’s favorite food – sardines. Romina asked her daughter to take it easy on the food, and Fatima joked that she would eat Cassie’s food on her behalf. Some neighbors came to check up on her, and Cassie thanked them for visiting her. Back at the precinct, the officer informed Kulas that his son’s shooter had been transferred to the city jail.
Kulas was exasperated. “You’ve already caught the suspect right? Then the case is closed.”
“We just got the ballistics report. The bullet did not match with the suspect’s güñ.”
“What? Are you saying that someone else shot my son?”
“It’s possible that it wasn’t a misfire either. Your son might have been deliberately targeted.”
Kulas flashed back to his argument with Jude over Daniela’s connection with Alvin. Daniela was glad to be finally rid of Hector, gloating over the fact that she had been able to trick Hector into believing that the money was complete when it was five million short. Savannah was harboring doubts about Daniela’s plan to get rid of Romina since she had failed to get rid of her brother before.
“I’ve learned from my mistakes,” Danny girl said. “I know that if I want to get rid of Romina, I have to go all out.”
“But that man you’re using, can you trust him?”
“We’ve done business before. It’s not a matter of trust. It’s a business transaction. We’re good as long as both of us benefit.”
Gino caught Mikoy flipping through photos of Marga on his phone. Mikoy explained that he was worried about Marga because she had been having nightmares lately. Gino then revealed how Marga had almost jumped off the top of a building, much to Mikoy’s surprise. He then mentioned Maxwell’s reopening, and Mikoy flashed back to his talk with his grandma about Maxwell. Cassie was determined not to change schools because she had promised her father that she would graduate at Maxwell.
“I already broke my promise of leaving the house, so I don’t wanna break another promise.”
“That promise will still remain intact,” Romina stated. “Because you’ll still go to Maxwell.”
Cassie was surprised. “Really? But ma, is that possible? Didn’t Daniela take all our money?”
“That was just our inheritance. I saved up a lot too.”
“What if we use it all up?”
“Then I’ll work again and save up some more. Even if we lose all our money, you wouldn’t have to worry because I will always find a way to support you.”
Cassie smiled. “Thanks, mamma.”
At the mansion, Marga was throwing a tantrum because a cleaner had cooked food that was apparently appaling to her. Daniela arrived home and Mini-Daniela complained bitterly about how nanny Esther had left to visit Cassie. She asked whether her father would be coming back, and Daniela assured her that daddy would come to his senses very soon.
Roxy was flaunting her newfound wealth at a restaurant with her father and uncle. Hector assured her that he would be giving her whatever she wanted from now on. Roxy asked to study in Maxwell and Hector promised to take care of it. Roxy then went out to take a photo of the restaurant to post on her vlog.
“It’s nice that Roxy’s happy,” Alvin commented. “But what about my share of the cash?”
“Your share of the money is in the back of the car,” Hector grumbled. “We got one bag each.”
Alvin was excited. “Nice. Great. That’s really great. Can’t wait to see it. What’s with the frown?”
“I’m just thinking of what to buy with the money.”
“You sure or is Daniela running through your head? Now that we both got our money, you won’t be seeing her anymore, right?”
“Who says we won’t meet anymore?”
“The deal was that you’d stay away,” Alvin pointed out.
“Do you really think I’d let that happen? I’m not after her money. I’m after Daniela too. And I won’t stop until I make her mine.”
Kulas barged into the mansion and confronted Daniela, demanding to know whether she had anything to do with Jude’s death since Hector could be involved. Danny girl flat out denied it and offered to help him find the perpetrator, on the condition that he help her get back together with Carlos.
During breakfast at the Mondragon house, Cassie brought up the scholarship grant she had asked for in place of being sent to study in London for winning the Maxwell Prime. Kristoff came over with Fatima and LJ to look after Cassie since Romina and Neil would be going to work soon. Mina thanked them for being such good friends to her daughter. She then asked Neil to go ahead since she had a meeting with a potential client in hopes of attaining help in her fight against Daniela.
Bonita tried to treat Mrs. Galvez’s secretary to a cup of coffee, making her believe that she could go to jail if she was covering up for anything wrong her boss had done. Savannah walked in a crucial moment before Bonita could milk the coworker for some damaging info. A battle of words ensued.
“Don’t you have a meeting to attend?” Savvy mentioned. “Curiosity k!lled the cat, you know?”
“It’s a good thing then that cats have nine lives,” Bonita shot back. “Unlike rabid dogs like you. A pinch of MSG, and you’re out. Would you like some? I’ll check the grocery store for you.”
Savvy then made Mrs. Galvez’s secretary follow her out. “Let’s go. She might claw us with her dirty nails.”
“Stupid dog,” Bonita muttered.
Daniela and Mrs. Galvez were celebrating the expansion problem they had dealt with, confident that no one would be able to find out the money Daniela had taken from the company as soon as she liquidated Romina’s assets and replaced them.
“I told you,” Danny girl gloated. “There’s no problem I can’t solve. I’m not Daniela Mondragon for nothing.”
Bonita met up with Romina and recounted how close she had been at squeezing the truth out of the secretary when Savannah suddenly showed up. Mina asked her not to let it get to her since they would definitely have other chances. She then wondered out loud where the supposed client was. Mr. Louie of Tita Sardines came up and introduced himself much to Mina’s surprise. She asked what he wanted from her, and the man mentioned how he knew about Daniela taking away all her assets.
“That’s very confidential information,” Mina said.
Mr. Louie then offered Romina a job at Tita Sardines, with a double salary as compared to what she received at Camila, adding that the position came with shares to his company. Mikoy asked Marga to help him get into Maxwell by tutoring him for the entrance exams. Mini-Daniela was reluctant to, and even went ahead to talk some trash.
Mikoy then threatened to ask Cassie for help instead since she was smart and they were friends as well. The trick worked like magic. Mini-Daniela claimed that she was a much better tutor than Cassie. She was now more than obliged to help. Cassie was determined to continue her work at the diner so she could save up and earn her own allowance for school.
Kristoff reminded her that it was a summer job and they didn’t accept part-timers anymore. However, Cassie wanted to see Sir Wacky and bid him goodbye if they couldn’t work something out. LJ and Fatima then offered their support, and lamented over how terrible Marga’s mother was for taking all their inheritance in exchange for saving her.
“We also think she might have been behind our accident,” Kristoff cut in.
“Let’s just wait for the result of the investigation,” Cassie said.
“Marga might bully you again at Maxwell,” Fatima began. “Especially now that she’s richer than you.”
“I survived a serious car accident,” Cassie stated. “I almost died. Anything that Marga does won’t scare me anymore. This time, I won’t hesitate to fight back.”
Hector blindsided Daniela at Camila’s parking lot with the same car model as that of Carlos. Daniela reminded him of their deal not to come close to her anymore, adding that she wasn’t interested in him. She then asked him to go and find a woman who cared about big cars since he was rich now. “What if I gift your husband with another woman?” Hector taunted. “He doesn’t want you anymore, right?”
“If you do, you’re going to have to deal with me.”
“Then what if I tell him that you had his brother k!lled? Sounds good?”
“We both know the truth. I didn’t ask you to k!ll Jude.”
“But I still did it for you.”
“And you’re too late for that. Carlos already moved out and his father’s investigating the case, so I’d back off if I were you.”
“What if I tell your daughter instead?”
“You have no proof that I gave you orders. Didn’t you have Carlos’ father beaten up? That’s enough motivation to k!ll Jude. I wouldn’t be surprised if you get arrested anytime now. See, Hector? Nothing you do can scare me anymore.”
Romina recounted her encounter with Mr. Louie to Bernard, wondering how he knew about her shares. Bonita then recalled her altercation with Savannah earlier and how she had mentioned the meeting they were going to.
“That can only mean one thing,” Mina said. “Daniela is up to something and we need to stop her.”
Hector was in a very bad mood after being rejected yet again by Daniela. He unleashed his anger and frustrations on a guy who was owing him money. “Anyone else need a gentle reminder?”
“Boss, the rest have paid up,” Glen replied. “Except for Kulas. But we have the title deed to the car shop. Once he signs the document, it will go to us.”
Hector then asked for the document to be brought to him. “You know what they say, when it rains, it pours.”
“Boss, what should we do?”
Hector just laughed wickedly. Carlos asked Gino about the whereabouts of Mikoy, and Gino said the boy had probably gone to see Marga, adding that she was in need of a true friend and he was sure Mikoy was that person.
“That’s good to know,” Carlos said.
“But shouldn’t you be there with her? You’re her father. You’re supposed to be by her side. Would you let Daniela raise her alone? Ah, you might regret that.”
Later that night, Savannah sneaked into Romina’s office and retrieved a file. She then made a call. “I found it, Danny girl.”
“Good. You know what to do.”
In the living room, Mikoy complained about how hard the paper was, and Marga told him that nothing came easy in Maxwell. Mikoy asked if she wanted to go with him to the autoshop to see her dad. “He should visit me,” Marga said bitterly. “Not the other way round.”
Daniela came over and kicked out Mikoy in such fashionable manner, much to Mini-Daniela’s dismay. Danny girl was appaled to learn that Mikoy was planning to study at Maxwell, insinuating that he could probably rob them blind to do so. “Mikoy isn’t like that,” Mini-Daniela said.
“How would you know? Are you two friends? You two seem close.”
“No, mom. I’m just using him to get closer to dad since I miss him a lot.”
Daniela had a phone call after Marga went up to her room. “Yes, Mrs. Galvez?”
“Everything is all set, Daniela. By this time tomorrow, Romina will finally be out of our lives.”
Kulas asked Carlos about Hector’s house address so he could investigate him regarding his brother’s dëäth since he had learnt that Jude’s dëäth hadn’t been an accident. Carlos asked him not to get involved and just leave it to the cops to investigate, but Kulas was bullheaded.
“Dad, you’re getting old,” Carlos pointed out.
“Getting old my foot,” Kulas spat. “If you don’t wanna help me, I won’t force you. I’ll talk to Daniela. She’ll help me out.”
Carlos was taken by surprise. “Daniela said she’d help?”
“Yes, so go back home. She’s ready to prove her innocence by helping me solve this, so you better fix your marriage.”
“Dad, don’t make me do things I don’t want to.”
“Just do what I say. You said it yourself Hector’s a dangerous man. We can’t win if it’s just the two of us. We need Daniela’s help.”
Daniela received a call from Mr. Louie, telling her about how everything was going according to plan. Camp Daniela were celebrating. Savvy worried about the board buying into their schemes.
“They don’t have to buy it,” Danny girl said. “I already bought off more than half of the board. Romina won’t get away with it.”
Outside Daniela’s office, a security guard was dragging Bonita out as Romina kept pleading and insisting her innocence. Mina turned to glare at Daniela and her loyal lapdogs, fuming.
