“Your daughter has a fever. Her condition has worsened. Haven’t you found a blood donor yet? I’m sorry, but you only have twenty four hours left to find a donor for her. If we keep stalling her operation, her next seizure would be fatal. She might not survive it.”
Marga dragged Kristoff along to a mall and tried buying some stuff for him which he wasn’t interested in. He soon left her with Mikoy, who tried going after Kristoff. Mini-Daniela ranted some crap before ditching Mikoy, upset that he had ruined her plan of being an exclusive a$$. Daniela paid a visit to Cassie, crying over how she wouldn’t be able to help her anymore even though they were sisters because of what her mother had done.
Cassie woke up and asked her dearest sister why she was crying. Danny girl said the most important thing was for her to focus on her recovery. Neil arrived and gave her a piece of his mind, and Danny girl left. Jude approached Vickie after the Mangubat brothers left and told her that Romina had been looking for her. He asked about her mother, and Vickie told him to leave them alone because her mother had suffered a stroke.
“I saw Hector and Alvin here earlier,” Jude mentioned.
“I have nothing to say,” Vickie stated. “I just want to get away from all the troubles. I don’t want Daniela to get mad. She’ll be angry when she finds out I’ve been talking to Romina’s people. She’s the only one helping us right now.”
“Helping you? What kind of help? So you’ve been communicating with her?”
“Please, I’m begging you. Just leave us out of this mess. Stop bothering us.”
Back at the hospital, Neil asked Cassie whether Daniela had hurt her, and she told him that her dearest sister had only come to check up on her. Neil counseled her to be careful around her and Cassie argued that she was still her sister and it made her happy when she visited. “She seemed different today,” Cassie said. “I think she has a problem.”
“Does she now? You think she finally grew a heart to feel sorry for you?”
“I guess I’m just hoping for the best… that my condition might have paved the way to make us whole.”
Romina was worried about how she was going to face her daughter since everything she was doing wasn’t enough. Carlos told her that Cassie was a smart girl and knew that she was doing all she could to save her. Romina then had a phone call. “Hello, Jude.”
“Romina, I finally found Pearlita.”
“You have? Then let’s meet. Text me your location.”
“Okay, Romina.”
Carlos offered to go with Romina, but she declined and went out by herself. He then noticed Daniela walking by, surprised to see her at the hospital. Romina met up with Jude and discussed about the Mangubats, Vickie and her mother. Mina was sure that Vickie and her mother were being forced to hide.
“Did you get to talk to Pearlita?” Mina asked.
“I didn’t. Just Vickie. But when I mentioned your name, she kept telling me to leave.”
“Did she say why?”
Jude hesitated. “She’s afraid of Daniela. She said Daniela has been helping them all along.”
“Daniela ordered Hector to take them away from me, because Pearlita knows something Daniela doesn’t want me to.”
“I think Pearlita knows who really räpëd you. Didn’t she mention anything to you?”
Romina thought for a second. “All she said was, she saw Robert outside the hospital where I ended up after I was räpëd.”
“Why was he there? Could he…”
“Jude, please, no. Robert would never do that to me. He would never have conspired with Daniela to räpë me.”
“Then we can only be sure about one thing – Pearlita knows who räpëd you, and that’s why Daniela has been hiding her.”
“I have to find a way to talk to Pearlita. Maybe she’s all better now.”
“Vickie said her mother suffered a stroke. I don’t think you’ll ever get a chance to talk to her.”
Jude met up with Bernard and discussed about Alvin and Romina’s case. Bernard was distrustful of Alvin since most of the statements he had made were inconsistent. “He even claimed to be Cassie’s father,” Bernard pointed out.
Jude recalled his conversation with Nanny Esther and what he had overheard between the Mangubat brothers. Daniela complained to her husband about how she had caught him with Romina the other day, and Carlos told her that he had only been trying to help her find ways to save Cassie to make up for everything she had done to them. Danny girl kept ranting, and Carlos grabbed her and tried to shake some sense into her, telling her that he had a conscience, unlike her. He then noticed the band-aid on her arm.
“Is this about helping Cassie?” Daniela asked. “You should have told me. I could have helped that girl. But instead, you went running to Romina.”
“You can? Then why wait until now? You should have helped her, instead of feeding on this jealousy. If you want this marriage to work, then do something humane for once. Maybe then, I’ll change my mind.”
Romina left nanny Esther and Neil in charge of watching over Cassie. As soon as she stepped out, Cassie suffered a seizure and Neil hurried to call her back in. They then called out for the doctor who came to stabilize Cassie. A moment later, the doctor came out of the ICU. “Your daughter has a fever,” he said to Romina. “Her condition has worsened. Haven’t you found a blood donor yet?”
“We haven’t,” Mina wailed.
“I’m sorry, but you only have twenty four hours left to find a donor for her. If we keep stalling her operation, her next seizure would be fatal. She might not survive it.”
Mina was devasted, even as the doctor left and Carlos comforted her. Bernard walked in on the scene. A moment later, Carlos called the hospital he had left his contact at the other day, but there was still no AB-blood in stock. He bumped into a woman with a band-aid on her arm and recalled seeing the same thing on Daniela earlier.
Carlos arrived home later and went through Daniela’s bag. He found her driver’s license card, shocked to see that her blood type was AB-. He confronted his dearest wife about it but Danny girl had already decided to keep her poisonous blood for herself.
Carlos grabbed Daniela as she was walking out. “Twenty four hours. That’s all Cassie has left. If she suffers another seizure, she won’t survive. This is the time to do the right thing.”
Hector was very upset that Vickie kept calling them back to run errands for them. He asked that she tell him what she needed so they wouldn’t have to keep coming back, and Vickie told him that it was the doctor who decided.
“If you allowed us to go out, then I’d buy the meds myself,” Vickie grumbled. “So I won’t have to bother you.”
Hector threw a bunch of money on Vickie. “Make your mother pick all that up, since she’s the one who needs it. Don’t treat us like your mother’s caregivers.”
“And why not? You two are the reason my mother turned out that way. I know you’re acting that way because your boss pays you less now.”
Hector was amused. “You know, I don’t hit women. But I think you’ll be the first.”
“This is the last time you’ll use me and my mother. You’re about to pay for all your sins. You will soon get caught.”
Hector angrily grabbed Vickie by the neck, shaking her silly. “What will you do, huh? Tell me. Rat us out to the cops?”
Alvin intervened and Hector released Vickie, kicking away the money and spouting profanities. Daniela approached Romina at the hospital and told her that she had an offer for her. Mina wouldn’t listen though. They soon started exchanging unfriendly words and Mina pulled Danny girl’s hair as she tried walking away.
Carlos hurried over to break them up. “You two have to talk calmly.”
“And why should I listen to her?” Mina asked.
“Because she’s the one who can help Cassie.”
“What you talking about?”
“Daniela could be a potential donor for Cassie.”
“You’re the blood test for Cassie?” Mina asked.
“That’s what I was going to say.” Danny girl started walking away.
“Daniela…”
“What do you think, Romina? After what you two did to me, and after you just physically hurt me that I’d still donate blood to Cassie? You don’t deserve my help and now, it’s your daughter who’ll suffer.”
The Mangubat brothers were pondering over the incident with Vickie earlier. Hector resolved to find out whether she had told anyone about their setup. At the hospital, Team Romina were still worried about Cassie’s situation.
Mini-Daniela dragged Kristoff aside and tried to blackmail him into going to her endorsement with her tomorrow, but Kristoff was way determined to be with Cassie. Romina came over with Carlos and announced that there was no need to worry anymore because the operation would be conducted tomorrow.
“How’s that possible?” Neil asked. “Do they have enough blood for Cassie now?”
“We found a blood donor,” Mina revealed.
“Who?” Esther asked.
“Daniela.”
Mini-Daniela was surprised, but even more ecstatic when she managed to convince Kristoff this time to go with her for her endorsement tomorrow. Daniela met up with Savannah and complained about how she didn’t like seeing Carlos and Romina together, and how Carlos had threatened to leave her. Bratty lapdog counseled Danny girl to use all her dirty tactics to turn the situation to her advantage and win back her husband. At home, Jude recalled his recent conversations with Vickie and Romina, pacing around the room.
“What did Mr. Robert have to do with all this?” he thought to himself.
Lying in the sofa, Gino lamented about how he couldn’t sleep because Jude kept walking around. “Is there something wrong?”
“A friend of mine is doing an investigation,” Jude said.
“What is it about? Maybe I can help.”
“If a person did something wrong, would you say it, even if it means that it might tear our family apart?”
“How do you know they did something wrong? Do they have all the facts to the case?”
“Not exactly.”
“Then tell your friend to check his facts first. He wouldn’t want to make a mistake, especially since the family is on the line.”
Hector couldn’t reach Daniela on phone. He discussed with his brother the person Vickie could be talking to. Hector striked out Romina and Bernard from the list. He then recalled his encounter with Jude at the precinct. “I’ve got it. Carlos’ brother. The cop. He thinks he can outsmart me.”
Romina asked Carlos why Daniela had changed her mind since they were usually at odds, and Carlos revealed that he had promised to stay with her if she agreed to be a donor. Mina was exasperated. “You were planning to leave her? But it’s evident to everyone how much she løvês you. I didn’t think you even fought.”
“I think fate pulled a prank on me. I think we’re not meant for each other.”
“A relationship doesn’t depend on fate. It’s a decision you two have to make together.”
“You’re right, but sometimes, not every decision you make is the right one.”
Bernard stood a distance away, staring in their direction. Daniela and Mini-Daniela manipulated their dearest husband/father into going for Mini-Daniela’s upcoming endorsement. Mini-Daniela made her mother prioritize her endorsement over Cassie’s operation.
Gino revealed to his family about the donor they had found for Cassie. Everyone was surprised to find that it was none other than Daniela. The misëräble one-eyed-old man ranted some crap I chose to ignore.
Daniela received a phone call from Hector. “Hello?”
“I’ve been trying to reach you. Why weren’t you picking up?”
“I’m really busy right now. What do you want?”
“Someone is still investigating Romina’s case.”
Bernard confronted Romina and asked if she was now okay with Carlos. Mina told him that she was only being nice to him since he had helped her find a blood donor. “I hope you make that clear to him,” Bernard stated.
“Why do you say that?” Mina asked, surprised.
“Carlos is still married to Daniela, but I’ve been noticing the way he has been looking at you. What if he has feelings for you?”
“I know he does, Bernard.”
“And you’re letting it slide?”
“Because I’m sure about how I feel. And I definitely don’t have any lingering emotions. But despite Daniela thinking otherwise, it’s better I treat Carlos as a friend.”
“I understand. But please, always be weary.”
Daniela came into her husband’s room, saying that she was the same woman he had married and she would never allow a child to suffer or threaten their life even if she was as spoilt as rotten egg. Carlos asked about Hector’s text and Danny girl claimed it had just been a wrong message. She then put her hands on her hubby, taking off his shirt, poised and ready to collect payment for her ‘generous’ deed done to Cassie. Carlos resisted at first, but then he gave in completely when he suddenly saw Romina’s face in Daniela! What a pervert! The misëräble swine. Carlos guided Daniela/Romina to the bed, laying on top of her and eager to show the only way he knew of being a man. (This is disgusting).
The next morning, Daniela watched lovingly as her dearest hubby slept. Without warning, Carlos, a.k.a, Dumblors started muttering something in his sleep. “Romina… Romina…” (This is hilarious). Daniela started hammering her husband with her fist, forcing him out of whatever paradise he thought he was in. Danny girl ranted on and on, accusing Carlos of cheating by thinking of another woman. Dumblors was in no mood to argue. He grabbed his stuff to storm out of the room. “I did what you wanted; I came back to you, but you can’t control my thoughts and feelings.”
Marga went to the autoshop to order Mikoy to accompany her to her endorsement launch like she always did. Mikoy gave her a piece of his mind and Mini-Daniela tried using money to blackmail him. “I thought we were friends. I’m not helping you, and you can keep your money,” Mikoy grumbled. “And don’t ask me for anything either.”
“You can’t do that,” Mini-Daniela wailed.
“Why not?”
“Because you said you were a man of your word. I need an assistant, so you’re coming with me.”
“Fine, I’m a man of my word. But this is the last time. After this, don’t ask me for help anymore.”
Daniela was on her way to Marga’s endorsement party when some board members cornered her and started hammering her with questions about the expansion of Camila. Danny girl claimed that everything was perfect but they however insisted on a site visit. Jude stared at a photo of Robert at the precinct. “Whatever this is might affect both our families, Mr. Robert,” he thought to himself. “But I have to prove it first. I have to find out what you’ve been hiding.”
