“What did Hector mean about connecting this to Robert? Are his cufflinks related to his dëäth? And why did they have them? If Alvin isn’t involved in Mr. Robert’s dëäth, then why does he have the cufflink? Let’s see you underestimate me now.”
Kristoff told Marga that whatever ‘help’ she was giving Cassie wasn’t enough if her mother really had a hand in their accident. Jude sneaked into the Mangubat house and asked about Hector, and Roxy told him that he wasn’t around. He then asked to go inside but Roxy declined, saying that her father had instructed her not to allow anyone in the house.
Jude brought up the cufflinks and asked whether she had seen them lying around. “Oh, yeah,” Roxy said. “But it wasn’t pappa who took it. It was uncle Alvin. So it belongs to you. He tossed it out but wait here, I’ll get it.”
“The cufflinks were with Alvin,” Jude thought to himself as Roxy went in. “But how did he get it? It was Mr. Robert’s.”
Daniela arrived home and her daughter asked her about what Kristoff had said earlier. Danny girl denied it, saying that it was probably Romina who had told him that to ruin her reputation. “I know, mom,” Mini-Daniela said. “I never doubted you. Only criminals are capable of something like that.” (Really? Then that makes your dearest mommy the biggest criminal in town!)
Jude was still waiting outside when he spotted Hector’s car approaching. He went into hiding. Hector and Alvin ran into Roxy and noticed the cufflinks she was holding. “Why do you have that?” Hector asked.
“Marga’s uncle was here,” Roxy explained. “The cop. He said he was looking for a cufflink. Is this what he was talking about? I saw uncle Alvin toss it in the trash.”
Alvin snatched the cufflink. “This is mine, but I don’t need it anymore.”
“Where’s Marga’s uncle now?” Hector asked.
Roxy glanced around, unable to see where Jude was hiding behind some dustbin. “I don’t know, but he was here a minute ago.”
Hector sent her daughter up into her room and scolded his brother. “Didn’t I tell you to toss it out?”
“I did throw it away,” Alvin said. “But I didn’t know Roxy would pick it up.”
“Either bury it or smash it, before that cop connects it to Robert!”
Carlos was busy working at the autoshop when he noticed Romina approaching. Mina sauntered in and started flirting with him. “Romina, this is wrong.”
Romina shushed Carlos. “It’s not about what’s wrong. It’s about what we both want to happen. You want this. Isn’t this what you want, Carlos?”
“Romina…”
“Boss, Carlos,” Mina whispered seductively into his ears.
Carlos was in the mood.
“Boss, Carlos…”
“Romina…”
Lo and behold, boss Carlos had only just been daydreaming and drooling. It wasn’t Romina, but Mikoy who had been calling him, in hopes of waking him up from his slumber. He was as hopeless as the sweats he was bathed in. (All hail, Boss Carlos, the dreamer!!) Cassie asked Kristoff whether they had found a match yet, and Kristoff tried assuring her that someone would definitely come to her aid.
“Do you have any other relatives?” Kristoff asked.
“Not on mom’s side,” Cassie replied.
“If only they figured out who your real dad is, then maybe he could have helped out.”
Daniela stormed into her room and broke down. She picked up a portrait of her father and pleaded that he tell her the right thing to do. “Should I help Cassie, and reveal the truth that we’re real sisters?” Danny girl sobbed. “What am I going to do, dad?”
Jude arrived home and his father started hounding him with questions of his whereabouts. Jude told him about the conversation he had overheard between the Mangubat brothers and Robert’s connection to the cufflinks. Kulas complained about him putting their lives at risk to help Romina. Carlos had had some CCTV cameras and an alarm system installed at the autoshop.
“That’s pretty cool, boss,” Mikoy commented. “Actual CCTVs.”
“It’s better this way. The CCTVs would keep you guys safe. If Hector’s henchmen come back, we’ll catch them in the act.”
“What happened at Hector’s place?” Gino asked. “Did you talk to him?”
“There was no need to talk,” Carlos replied. “Luckily, Jepoy stopped me before I could do something worse to them. At least now they know I’m not afraid of them.”
“But won’t that make it worse?” Mikoy cut in. “Miss Romina might get dragged into this.”
“Hector can try. And don’t worry about Romina. She’s a strong woman. She’s not afraid to face anyone.”
“Miss Romina’s probably having a hard time though. She’s widowed, right? She probably has no one to comfort her.” (When did you start playing matchmaker, Mikoy?)
Carlos walked into Cassie’s hospital room and literally checked out Romina’s ass. Wait. That’s an understatement; Romina was bent over Cassie and Carlos took his sweet time staring at her ass like a hungry, starved man. (The bästärd). Neil caught him in the act. Carlos came over and offered to help Mina find a match for Cassie from the other hospitals. Daniela was considering donating blood for Cassie to relief her guilt since she had technically caused the accident by ordering Hector.
“What if they find out you and Cassie are siblings?” Savvy asked.
“A donation can be anonymous and confidential. They won’t find out I donated blood to her. Even if they do, they won’t automatically assume that we’re real siblings.”
“I just hope you’re right, Danny. Because you have a lot to lose when everyone, especially your husband finds out the truth. Where is he anyway?”
Daniela made a phone call. “Is Carlos there? He’s not answering my calls.”
“He left, Daniela,” Gino revealed. “He went to visit Cassie at the hospital.”
Daniela went to the hospital and ran into her daughter. She asked about her father and Marga told her that she hadn’t seen him around. A moment later, Daniela went into Cassie’s hospital room to check up on her. She ran out as Cassie was waking up from sleep, her vision blurry. Kristoff arrived late for work yet again, and Sir Wacky gave him a talk about responsibilities and being fair to the other employees.
“They might think I’m giving you special treatment, and I do want to be fair.”
At the precinct, Jude flashed back to his conversation with Nanny Esther at the mansion about Robert’s cufflinks. He then recalled the conversation he had overheard between the Mangubat brothers, then the day Robert had suddenly disappeared when his chopper exploded. “What did Hector mean about connecting this to Robert?” Jude thought to himself. “Are his cufflinks related to his dëäth? And why did they have them?”
Marga went to the diner to ask about Kristoff, and Sir Wacky revealed that he had already resigned so he could focus on Cassie. (In your face, Mini-Daniela!) Romina and Carlos went to a hospital to ask about AB-blood, but they were out of stock. A guy standing behind bent down to pick up a file he had dropped, staring at Mina’s ass in the process. Carlos caught him and started making a scene.
“Carlos, that’s enough,” Mina admonished. “We don’t have time for this. Let’s go.”
Carlos gave the guy a look. “You’re lucky.” (And you’re stüpïd).
Walking around the hospital, Daniela flashed back to her conversations with Cassie (when she had pleaded for her help to find out who had put her in her current condition) and Hector (when he had admitted to having screwed up their plan to eliminate Romina). She then approached Cassie’s doctor. “Doctor, excuse me.”
“May I help you?”
Kristoff came into Cassie’s hospital room and Neil asked him to watch over her while he went to work. Cassie told him not to put his life on hold because she was at the hospital. “Don’t you want me here?” Kristoff asked.
“That’s not what I mean. You have a job, don’t you? It’d be unfair to Mr. Wacky if you were always absent because of me. You might get fired.”
Mini-Daniela walked in and stood by the door, listening. “I asked him to change my shift,” Kristoff claimed. “He said it was alright.”
Arriving at another hospital, Romina scolded Carlos for the stunt he had pulled off earlier. The attendant came over and announced that they had AB-blood but they couldn’t release it to her because it was prioritized among the patients at the hospital and their supplies weren’t enough.
Mina offered to pay any amount of money for it but the woman was determined to go by the books. Carlos then left his contact in case any new supplies came in, and Mina thanked him. Marga asked Kristoff why he had resigned from his job and was sacrificing so much for Cassie. (Lol, is it your beef to chew? Mtchewww).
Kristoff told her that he løvëd Cassie, and doing something for someone one løvëd wasn’t a sacrifice. He then made Mini-Daniela promise not to tell Cassie about it, saying that it was his decision to leave the diner and he didn’t want Cassie to worry. Daniela told the doctor that she would anonymously donate blood for Cassie because she didn’t want anyone to find out about it.
The doctor then asked her to fill the donor’s form, then went ahead to brief her about the process. Mini-Daniela arrived at the autoshop, ranting and complaining about Kristoff resigning from his work to be with Cassie everyday.
Mikoy tried talking some sense into her, which only flew out the other ear. Mini-Daniela then came up with a dubious plan to make Kristoff see Cassie less often. Jude asked a fellow officer, Libre, about the cufflinks and their link to Robert’s dëäth. Libre told him that the bømber still hadn’t confessed to who had hired him.
Jude asked whether Robert had been wearing any cufflinks that day and Libre said they hadn’t found any on his clothes. “If Alvin isn’t involved in Mr. Robert’s dëäth,” Jude thought to himself. “Then why does he have the cufflink?”
Daniela sat at the blood donation room, being prepped up for the process. Just outside, Romina arrived with Carlos and asked about her daughter’s state. “She’s stable,” the doctor revealed. “But until she undergoes operation, I can’t say she’s fine. We can only hope for the best.”
Romina was sobbing after the doctor left, and Carlos comforted her with a hug. Daniela noticed and stormed over and started making a scene. Danny girl accused Mina of flirting with her husband while her daughter was fighting for her life. Mina responded with a släp and gave her a piece of her mind. Carlos tried keeping his wife in check.
“I could have helped you save Cassie,” Danny girl said to Mina. “I could have done that for you. But after what you’ve done, I promise you’ll regret this.”
Mini-Daniela came into Cassie’s hospital room with miss China, the endorsement rep. She managed to manipulate her way into making Kristoff go with them for an upcoming endorsement. Meanwhile at the mansion, Daniela recalled the incident earlier at the hospital with Romina and Carlos as she had a boxing practice session with her coach.
She then had a call from Vickie, asking for her help in buying some medicine for her mother. Daniela told her to contact Hector to take care of everything she needed. Romina was determined to do anything to save her daughter, even accepting help from Carlos, to hell with whatever Daniela or anyone else might think of her. At the autoshop, Gino mentioned to his brother that he probably had other reasons for helping Romina. Carlos claimed that he was just helping, no strings attached.
“But why?” Gino asked.
Carlos recalled his daydream of Romina. “There’s nothing wrong with wanting to help.” (Keep dreaming, dear).
“I’m not saying there is. But sometimes I wonder, what if you ended up with Romina instead?”
“We’d be happy.”
“What?”
“Nevermind.”
Hector had a call from Vickie, asking for help to buy her mother’s medicine. He asked her to wait for them. Jude followed them in a cab as they drove away. During the drive, Hector told his brother to make sure that no one was following them. Alvin told him to relax, saying that Vickie and her mother were in a remote area. Daniela received a call from the doctor, asking if she would still be donating blood since she had left the hospital so suddenly.
Daniela recalled the incident earlier at the hospital with Carlos and Romina. She told the doctor that she would think about it, and the doctor asked that she inform him the moment she made a decision, the sooner, the better. Jessa was bïtçhiñg about the new car she wanted and the misëräble one-eyed-old man asked her to be patient.
Kulas sniffed his mistress as if he were a dog. “You smell so good. Did you take a shower?” (Nah, she drunk a whole bucket of perfume, you idïøt).
After the rehearsal for the endorsement, Kristoff decided to go visit Cassie so they could have dinner together. Marga offered to go with him to ‘visit’ Cassie, even suggesting that they go buy a gift for her. Mikoy arrived to pick up Marga but she told him that she already had plans with Kristoff. Mikoy was surprised. “Plans? Just the two of you?”
“Yeah,” Mini-Daniela said. “So, bye, Michael.”
“No, we’re visiting Cassie,” Kristoff revealed to Mikoy. “Do you wanna come with us?”
“Forget it,” Mini-Daniela cut in. “I think Michael has other plans. Right?”
“No, I don’t,” Mikoy replied. “I’m free today. Let’s go.”
Carlos found Romina at the blood center and asked why she had gone out looking for blood donors without informing him. Mina told him that she was just trying to avoid anymore trouble. “I’m sorry about what Daniela did,” Carlos said. “She shouldn’t have made a scene. I don’t know what to do with her anymore.” (Why don’t you lock her up in a mental institution?)
“You can put an end to this if you stop helping me. I can handle this by myself.”
“But I really want to help out,” Carlos argued. “I don’t have to ask her permission.”
“But she’s your wife,” Mina reasoned. “Why don’t you do something to fix your marriage instead of making your situation even worse?”
“What if I don’t wanna fix our marriage? I tried Romina, but Daniela isn’t someone you can easily talk to. I can’t stand behind around her.”
“Carlos, think of your daughter.”
“She did everything she could, just so I would leave you and marry her.”
“What’s done is done, Carlos. All you can do now is to accept it.”
“That’s why I’m blaming myself. I was a coward. I would have been happier if I didn’t leave you. If only I could turn back time.”
“But you can’t.”
“Romina…”
“Carlos, enough. It’s so awkward to talk about that here at the hospital. Let’s go.” The Mangubat brothers arrived at their destination and met up with Vickie. Meanwhile, the cab Jude was riding in pulled over nearby, and Jude glanced at a picture of Vickie on his phone, recognizing her as the person the Mangubats were talking to. “Let’s see you underestimate me now,” he thought to himself, spying as they went inside the house.
