“You’ll always be a spineless bästärd. You just proved once again that you’re a coward. Even your wife has to fight your own battles for you.”
Jude was certain that the Mangubat brothers had been the mastermind of the beatdown his father had suffered. He asked Kulas for the location of their new gambling den so they could have it closed but the old man wanted no more trouble or to serve as a punching bag. Alvin was worried about their plan backfiring after they had Kulas beaten up.
Hector told his brother that the Bartolomes didn’t have any proof of that and all that mattered was that they had been able to keep their gambling den off the radar. At the mansion, Romina caught Carlos staring at her. When she approached him, he offered to help find a donor for Cassie.
“If you want to help, then why don’t you just tell me who did this to Cassie,” Mina said. “You wanted to testify, right? Then tell me right now.”
Daniela came over and exchanged some words with Mina, playing down the fact that Carlos knew something about what had happened to Cassie. Danny girl eyed her husband. “What makes you think he knows anything about it?”
“Carlos, your wife asked you a question,” Mina stated. “What do you know about the incident with Cassie?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Carlos claimed. “I didn’t go to the precinct.”
Mina glared at Carlos, followed by a left-handed släp. “You’ll always be a spineless bästärd.”
Daniela came to her husband’s defense and spouted some nøñsënse. “Blame me all you want since that’s what you’re good at, but don’t you ever involve my family.”
“You involved my innocent daughter in all of this, so if anything happens to your family, you’re the only one they can blame. As for you, Carlos, you just proved once again that you’re a coward. Even your wife has to fight your own battles for you.”
Daniela met up with Hector outside the mansion, upset that he had used her daughter to threaten her husband. Hector said all that mattered was that it had worked and Daniela demanded that he leave her daughter out of his schemes. “Now get out of here before Carlos or Romina catch you,” Danny girl said.
“What? Carlos moved back in? I thought you split up.”
“Just leave, Hector,” Daniela demanded, getting out of the car.
“Damn it!” Hector hissed, slamming his hand on the car seat.
Jude reminded his father that he could still file a case against the Mangubats, but Kulas had already made up his mind not to. Jude then asked whether Daniela had really ordered Alvin to räpë Romina. Kulas downplayed the question. The misëräble one-eyed-old man got upset when Gino and Myrna asked that he answer Jude. “Who are you protecting?” Jude asked.
“I’m protecting your brother Carlos’ family.”
“So it is true. Daniela has a connection with Alvin.”
“I guess so.”
“But you retracted your statement. You didn’t report it to the police.”
“Daniela is part of our family,” argued the misëräble one-eyed-old man. “I won’t let her go to jail just because of Romina.”
“All my life I looked up to you. I became a police officer because you were my hero. But you’re far from it!”
Daniela discussed with Savannah her situation with Carlos and how his father had been beaten up by Hector’s goons. Savvy mentioned that Carlos would never believe her innocence and Danny said she’d win him over bit by bit. Carlos arrived at the hospital and found out about Jude and Kulas’ argument.
Jude was determined to arrest whoever had beaten him up and Carlos revealed that it was the handiwork of Hector and Alvin. In Cassie’s hospital room, Kristoff paid her a visit with LJ and Fatima, who showed her Kristoff’s performance video at the diner which had gone viral.
Cassie was grateful. Kristoff then told her about Marga vlogging about her to find donors for her, and Cassie asked that she come so she could thank her. Some workers from Camila came to the hospital to donate blood for Cassie and offer their support, even giving Romina some money contribution they had made.
Mina was reluctant to accept but they insisted on helping out. Mina was emotionally grateful. Hector arrived back home, pretty upset that Carlos had gone back to the mansion and told Daniela about what he had done to his father.
“I warned you about it,” Alvin said. “So what’s your plan?”
“That Carlos is really pushing me. My patience is running thin. Let’s see if he can still get away from my plans.”
“But won’t it just land us into more trouble?”
“Oh yeah? Then what do you want me to do? Let him outsmart him? I won’t let him get away.”
Some officers came over to invite Hector to the police station for questioning regarding Kulas’ āssäult. Neil and nanny Esther asked the doctor whether they had AB- blood now that some people had come to donate blood for Cassie. The doctor said they still didn’t have any. Neil asked whether they could use a different blood type and the doctor went ahead to explain the process of blood transfusion and how important it was for the donor and the patient’s blood to be a perfect match.
“Is there a huge possibility that we’ll find the perfect match for Cassie’s blood type?” Esther asked.
“Unfortunately, negative entities are very rare in our country, especially AB-. But please, don’t lose hope.”
Jude faced off with Hector at the precinct and vowed to make him face the law. “How do we deal with him?” Alvin asked after Jude stormed off.
“We’ll take them out one by one,” Hector replied. “We’ll start with the father.”
“But if we k!ll him, Carlos will talk to the police.”
“Who says we’re k!lling him? We’ll push them into a corner.” Hector then made a phone call. “Take someone with you. I need you to do something.”
Romina and Bernard discussed the possiblity of Carlos keeping his mouth shut about Cassie’s accident to protect Daniela. Kristoff stood nearby, listening in. Bernard promised to make Carlos pay for his crime, as well as the person he was protecting. Romina was determined to find a way to make Carlos confess the truth and Bernard warned her to think things over carefully before she did anything.
Marga came into Cassie’s hospital room with Mikoy. LJ and Fatima welcomed her with a brief mocking session. Cassie thanked Marga for vlogging about her and Marga said she had done it exclusively for Kristoff. Cassie still showed her her appreciation anyway.
Mini-Daniela started spouting her usual nøñsënse and Kristoff politely kicked her out of the room so Cassie could rest. Glen and his goons barged into the Cartolome autoshop and demanded payment for Kulas’ debt. Mikoy tried talking some sense into him but the guy just shoved him aside like he was just a bag of wind.
Glen asked for the earnings of the auto shop but Gino was determined not to give him anything. Glen then picked up a metal rod and resorted to violence, smashing things around. Gino stopped him as he tried to vandalize a customer’s car and Myrna suffered the consequences, taking a hard hit to the head.
Carlos came to know about what had happened to his mother. His car wouldn’t start so Romina offered to give him a ride to the autoshop. The Mangubat brothers arrived home, discussing the possibility of Jude having found some evidence against them since he seemed so confident earlier.
Alvin remembered the cufflinks and hurried in with his brother. Carlos arrived at the autoshop with Romina as Mryna was being tended to, and Gino narrated what had happened. Mina tried calling the police, but Carlos stopped her, saying that his father would be k!lled if he reported it to the police.
“How can you be so sure?” Mina asked. “Do you know who’s behind this?”
“It’s Hector. He’s the one my dad owes money.”
Gino and Mina tried convincing Carlos to fight back, saying that the scumbags would just keep harassing them if they did nothing. Kristoff told Cassie about how Marga should be doing more to help her since there was the possibility that her mother may have had something to do with what happened to them.
Alvin found the cufflinks in the room and Hector asked that he throw them away since they could be used as evidence against them. Alvin was reluctant to, saying that the cufflinks were their key to getting rich and they could control Daniela as long as they had them. Hector however didn’t want to hear any of it, insisting that he get rid of them.
Alvin reluctantly dumped the cufflinks into the trashbin and followed his brother out. Roxy sneaked in and picked them up. Jepoy pulled over near the Mangubat residence. Carlos got out of the car, picked up a metal rod and lied in wait. As soon as the brothers came out, he striked Hector squarely in the leg.
Alvin managed to disarm him but Carlos recovered quickly and sent him down with a few punches. Hector tried getting up and Carlos put him back down with a left hook. “Why do you drag my family into this? Deal with me instead. You’re a bunch of cowards. You didn’t even care if you hurt women, children or the elderly.”
Romina looked on from inside her car, amused but not impressed. “The next time you come for my løvëd ones again, I’ll make your lives a living hell,” Carlos added as Jepoy dragged him away.
Marga arrived home and told her mother about how she had gained more followers after agreeing to vlog about Cassie needing a blood donor on account of Kristoff. After Mini-Daniela went up into her room, Daniela had a call from Cassie, telling her to come to the hospital the next day so they could talk. Daniela walked into Cassie’s hospital room and sat by her side, an almost remorseful look on her face.
Cassie asked her if she had a hand in her accident and Daniela flatly denied it. As naive as always, Cassie believed and wailed about her condition as Daniela spouted some crap she probably didn’t believe herself, letting out her ever poisonous tears.
“I don’t want to end up like daddy,” Cassie sobbed. “A victim of someone’s anger.”
“No one’s going to die,” Danny girl wailed, still crying her poisonous tears.
Cassie then asked that they stop fighting and blaming each other for everything for the sake of their families. At the mansion, Carlos thanked Romina for initiating him into manhood by making him face Hector. Mina said she knew he had it in him. As she started walking away, Carlos grabbed her arm and a staring contest ensued.
Mina seemed to be enjoying the attention.Neil walked in on the scene, and Carlos drove off after feasting his eyes for a few more seconds. Neil confronted his sister about what he had just witnessed.
“What are you trying to do? Just because he has problems with Daniela doesn’t mean you can steal him from her. Are you still holding on to the past?”
Romina was exasperated. “Neil, calm down. It’s not what it looked like. He was the one who held me.”
“I didn’t see what happened, but the look on your face, it changed, Romina.”
Mina scoffed. “Are you serious, Neil? I don’t feel anything for him anymore. I only pity him because he has no sense of self worth.”
“If he gets too close to you again, make an effort to stay away from him. What if someone else saw it? Like that obnoxious Daniela. She called me a twat.”
“It won’t happen again. I’m not the type to start something like that. The only reason I’m doing this is to create more conflict between Carlos and Hector since they all played a part in ruining my life.”
Romina then had a phone call from Bonita, telling her about Daniela being at the hospital. Mina was worried that Danny girl could do something to Cassie. The misëräble one-eyed-old man arrived home with his sorry excuse of a girlfriend/mistress/ pest/freeloader a.k.a Jessa . After spouting something føølish, he asked Myrna to go and have her head checked for any concussion.
“I’m fine,” Myrna grumbled. “At least I’m not in a coma.”
Jude apologized for not being able to protect them, adding that Hector was the one behind everything. Mikoy was worried about being ättaçked again and Jude gave them a rundown of things to do in such circumstances. “You’re talking as if you’re leaving for good,” Kulas said. “Were you reassigned somewhere else?”
“Are you getting married?” Gino teased.
“I’m serious, Gino,” Jude admonished. “You have to be ready. I’ll ask Carlos to install a CCTV camera at the car shop.”
“That’s a great idea,” Kulas agreed. “And don’t worry. I’ll pay them back so they never bother us again.”
Romina stormed into her daughter’s hospital room with Neil and Bonita in tow. She confronted Daniela, demanding to know what she had done to her daughter. “Why are you here?”
Cassie asked her mom to calm down, saying that Daniela hadn’t done anything and that she had only asked her to come so she could know the truth since she suspected Daniela’s involvement in what happened to her and Kristoff.
“I just cleared things up,” Danny girl said to Mina. “That I’m innocent, and you’re being paranoid. You’ve made a hobby of blaming me without proof.”
“I don’t have proof yet, but it won’t be long before I finally do. And when that happens, you’ll lose face, especially to your own daughter.”
“It’s you who will have to save face when they catch the real criminal. You’ll regret that you blamed me for this incident too.”
The doctor came in just then and asked to have a talk with Romina. Mina went out with him as Daniela listened in on their conversation.
“What’s wrong, doctor?” Mina asked.
“I’m sorry to say this, but no donors have matched. We’re running out of time. We need to find a donor soon.”
