“Who’s that, Daniela? You and Hector seem pretty close too! Tell me the truth, who’s the investigator Hector’s referring to? Answer me! I warned you, Daniela. But you don’t listen to me anymore. We can no longer stay together. I’m leaving you.”
Carlos was struggling with a car at the autoshop. He declined Mikoy’s offer for help and Mryna tried to get through to him. Carlos asked his mother whether she would keep a secret something bad her spouse had done if she came to know about it. Thinking it was about her and her husband, Mryna told Carlos that she could either choose to ignore them or sue Jessa since Kulas was still her husband, and what they were doing was against the law.
“So why don’t you speak up?” Carlos asked.
“Because, more than being a wife, I’m a mother too. This is the only way to make up for my past mistakes. As a parent, I can endure anything, for the good of my family.”
Daniela and her bratty lapdog had still not recovered from Romina’s ättaçk. Savannah was certain that Danny had a hand in Cassie’s current condition. Daniela recalled how she had ordered Hector to stop Romina from investigating any further. “It’s Hector,” Danny girl said. “I told him to do something about Romina.”
“See? You do know something. But how did Cassie get involved in a random car accident?”
“Hector told me he didn’t know anything about it.”
“And you believed a criminal like him. He’s a liar and a fraud. You know him better than anyone. Do you think he’s actually innocent?”
At the hospital, Bernard revealed that whoever had orchestrated the accident had been after Romina and not the kids. Neil asked her sister if she had any suspects in mind and Mina told him that the police were still investigating. “If we had a lead right now, it’d be easier to catch the suspect,” Bernard mentioned.
Kristoff flashed back to the incident. “I think I remember.”
“What?”
“The guy who rammed our car. I saw him before he escaped.”
Kulas tried to coax Jessa into coming with him to the bedroom to cool down. Jessa came up with excuses, saying that she wanted to go shopping and get her car fixed. The one-eyed-old man was exasperated when Jessa asked for a new car. Kulas promised to save up to buy her a car and Jessa stormed off into the room when she couldn’t convince him to gamble again.
“There you go,” said the misëräble one-eyed-old man happily. “I just wanted to get you into the room. Jessa, wait for me. I’m here. Wooh!”
The Mangubat brothers discussed about Jude’s suspicions of them. “I’ll make sure that cop stops asking around,” Hector declared. “He doesn’t know who he’s messing with.”
Roxy arrived home and happily narrated how Daniela had been so ‘nice’ to her when she went to the mansion to return her bracelet. Hector cautioned her not to do that again, but Roxy was glad that she and ‘mama dragon’ were now getting close.
“I wish I were like Marga,” Roxy said. “She’s rich, and she has a mother.”
“Don’t worry, you’ll get a mom soon,” Hector assured. “Someone rich too. Your pappa can find one easily.”
Kristoff was having trouble recalling the details of the suspect’s face for the sketch artist to make a sketch of. Romina stormed off angrily as Bernard asked to let his son take a rest so it could help him remember all the minute details. Marga was in a sullen mood at her photoshoot, even more knowing Kristoff couldn’t make it. She texted Mikoy, ordering him to go somewhere with her after the shoot.
Mikoy was happy to oblige. Daniela confronted Hector about his involvement in Cassie’s accident. She ranted on and on, and Hector eventually admitted to it when he couldn’t get her to stop. Daniela argued that she didn’t want anyone to die and Hector told her that everything he did was for her.
“I’d never waste my time or fall for a mürdërer,” Danny girl barked.
“I’m doing all this for you. Why can’t you see it?”
“You’re doing things I never asked you to, so don’t you ever ask me to give you a chance or feel grateful.”
“Then go talk to your brother-in-law. Stop him from investigating. I’m the only one who understands you. Your beloved husband can’t do any of the things I’m doing for you. Remember that!”
Marga went into Cassie’s hospital room with Mikoy. Mikoy convinced her to go ahead while Cassie was still asleep, and Marga lamented about how she didn’t want her to disappear from her life in this way. She asked Cassie to fight to survive. Cassie woke up and turned to glance at Marga, only to go into shock, hyperventilating.
A doctor rushed in to stabilize her and Romina came in a second later and unleashed her venom on Marga as Mikoy tried to explain the situation. A moment later, Marga stormed out of the hospital room and Mikoy caught up with her. Seeing how affected she was, he resolved to serving as his punching bag to release her anger.
“Am I really that terrible for them to blame me?” Marga asked. “I know I’ve done a lot of bad things, but not to this extent.”
“You’re not a bad person, Marga. I think Cassie’s mother just took her anger out on you since you happened to be there. If there’s anyone terrible, it’s my uncle Badong. He’s the king of thugs, and you saved me from him. Is that what a bad person would do?”
Marga gave Mikoy a look. “I said be honest, don’t patronize me.”
“Patronize? I’m not sure I understand that. I defended you cause it’s true. And I know you sincerely wanted to check on Cassie. There’s no problem with that.”
Daniela arrived home and was greeted with questions about Cassie’s accident by some officers who had been interrogating Carlos. At their new gambling den, Alvin told his brother that he had done a stüpïd thing by admitting to Daniela his involvement in Cassie’s accident.
Hector told him that Daniela had caught him off guard. He then threatened to beat his brother to a pulp if he ever called him stüpïd again.Back at the mansion, Carlos traded some words with Daniela and threatened to leave her the moment he found out that she was hiding something else from him again.
Jessa arrived at Hector’s gambling den. Meanwhile at the autoshop, Kulas found out that Jessa had sold her car after having it repaired. The doctor announced to Romina and the others that Cassie needed a blood transfusion for her to be treated. “If we don’t stop the internal bleeding, it can lead to cardiac arrest. We need to find her a blood donor as soon as possible.”
Somewhere at Navotas, Daniela recalled what Esther had said to her regarding Jude’s visit to the mansion. Jude came over a moment later and asked why she wanted to see him. Daniela asked about his visit to the mansion and Jude told her that he was investigating something involving the Mangubat brothers. “Why, what’s this case about?” Danny girl asked.
“Why are you so curious?”
“Jude, those men are dangerous. If I were you, I’d let go of that case. Who knows what they might do to you.”
“I’m not afraid of them. It’s my duty as a police officer.”
“I’m just worried about you. Think of your family’s safety.”
“Sorry, Daniela. Please go home. It’s late. I’m going back to the station.”
Jessa had ran out of money at the gambling den, so she resorted to borrowing some more to gamble with. Meanwhile, Hector received a call from Daniela, telling him to stop Jude from investigating. “One call and you’re shaking in her hands,” Alvin mocked. “You’re just like a high-schooler in løvë.”
“Quit eavesdropping on my calls,” Hector warned. And then he smiled. The guy was hopeless.
Kulas arrived at the gambling den and soon started arguing with a guy who was hitting on Jessa. A fight began and Hector ordered his men to break them up since they were disrupting their business. The bouncer went to settle the issue and Kulas eventually left with Jessa. Romina and co admonished Cassie to follow the doctor’s advice and promised to help her get through her ordeal. Cassie thanked them and promised to be strong so they didn’t have to worry much.
“All of our worries and pain don’t compare to the pain and suffering you’re going through,” Mina said. “So please, let us take care of you this time.”
Kulas complained bitterly to Jessa about the incident at the gambling den and how that man had practically been undressing her with his eyes. Jessa managed guilt-tripping him into buying her a new car. Marga told her mother over dinner about the incident in Cassie’s hospital room and how Romina had lashed out at her.
Danny girl promised to handle the matter. The doctor discussed with Romina and co about Cassie’s blood donation as Kristoff listened in from outside the office. Hearing that Cassie needed three bags of blood, Kristoff barged in and offered to donate blood as well and the doctor told him that he could if only he was healthy and had a parent’s consent. Daniela confronted Romina about her accusing her daughter unjustly, and Mina gave her a piece of her mind.
“Shut up,” Mina hissed. “My daughter’s fighting for her life right now, so take out your anger on someone else because I don’t have time for you.”
Esther tried talking some sense into Danny girl after Romina stormed off. At her endorsement, Mikoy asked Marga how she was doing after the incident the day before. Marga said she was fine and the photoshoot was a welcomed distraction, adding that she was already over it because she had told her mother about what had happened. She then asked how he had found her.
“You’re not hard to find,” Mikoy replied. “All I had to do was check online.”
Marga made a disgusted face. “Ewww, stalker.”
Mikoy just smiled good-naturedly. Daniela hovered outside Cassie’s hospital room, faced with the dilemma of checking up on her or going her way. She eventually went into the room and stared as Cassie slept. She recalled Hector’s confession and slowly backed out of the room.
Danny girl seemed remorseful. Hector had a talk with the chief of police in an attempt to stop Jude from investigating him. The chief promised to have Jude punished if it was proven that he wasn’t following protocol.
Daniela met up with Savannah and told her about her intention of donating blood for Cassie. Bratty lapdog told her that she didn’t need to feel guilty because the accident hadn’t been her fault, adding that Romina would definitely find out that she and Cassie were sisters if she went ahead with it. The chief scolded Jude for disobeying him by poking his nose in the investigation. Jude was certain of the Mangubat brothers’ involvement.
“I cannot allow you to continue,” the chief declared. “It isn’t your case. Let those assigned to it do their job.”
“Sir, I just wanted to help.”
“You’ll put us in jeopardy, Bartolome. You’re questioning your suspects illegally because you’re not authorized to do that. Stop it.”
“But sir…”
“Don’t wait for me to give you a suspension. Just think of what your father will feel if that happens.”
Daniela arrived home and received a text message from Hector, telling her that he had dealt with the investigator. “You finally did something right,” Danny girl said to herself. “Finally, some good news.”
Carlos entered the room just then. “Who’s that, Daniela? Who are you referring to?”
“It’s Savannah,” Danny girl claimed. “I asked her help with some company papers.”
Carlos snatched Daniela’s phone and went through it. “Another lie won’t cover up the fact that you’re hiding something from me. Savannah, huh? But you and Hector seem pretty close too! Tell me the truth, who’s the investigator Hector’s referring to?”
“Carlos…”
“Answer me! I warned you, Daniela. But you don’t listen to me anymore. We can no longer stay together.”
“Carlos…”
Carlos grabbed Daniela. “I’m leaving you,” he hissed. He raised his hand to hit her but then he restrained himself. And off he went.
Romina stared at her daughter while she slept and recalled some moments they had shared together. “Robert… please help me protect our daughter,” Mina thought to herself. “Help me find out who did this to her. She’s a good child, Robert. She doesn’t deserve to go through this.”
Marga arrived home and found her mother crying over red wine. She soon learned about her parents’ recent fight and Daniela revealed to her that her father wouldn’t be coming back anymore because he didn’t want to be with her anymore. Marga then decided to go and get her dearest daddy back.
A moment later, Daniela was in a foul mood when Romina arrived home with the others. She went at Mina and soon lamented about how Carlos had left her because of all her accusations. Esther asked them to stop but neither paid her any attention.
“You already ruined my life,” Danny girl barked. “And now my family. Just because of a stüpïd allegation that I had you räpëd?!”
“Because you took everything from me!” Romina yelled. “My husband, my mother, and now you want to k!ll my daughter too?! Tell me if I missed anything else. Perhaps this is karma, and we know karma’s a b!tçh.”
“You’ve gone too far,” Danny girl hissed, landing a right hook at Mina’s face.
Romina kicked her in response and a catfight ensued. Nanny Esther ran off and came back with two kñivës. She handed both women each. “You don’t want to stop?! Go ahead and k!ll each other if that’s what it takes to bring peace to this house. Look at yourselves! What have you become?!”
Romina and Daniela glanced at each other, knife in hand. “Now’s not the time to be fighting just because your families are going through a lot. If you two really are good mothers, then prove it. Stop blaming each other for everything.” Nanny Esther stormed off while Romina and Daniela panted and glared at each other like big dogs, locked in an intense eye battle.
