As we all recall, Cardo and the members of Vendetta took refuge in the isolated province of Santo Niño to escape from their enemies in Manila. They soon came to enjoy their stay in the so-called peaceful town and turned themselves into watchmen to maintain and keep the place safe.
In spite of the fact that they knew the town was surrounded by several rebel groups, they føølishly decided to settle down there and start families of their own. As if that was not enough, our favorite hero and his comrades took their føølishñess to the next level by burying all their wëäpons and ammunitions.
The group then began to enjoy their “peaceful” life. Romulo’s romance with Diana blossomed and they got married in no time and continued their løvë affair. It didn’t take long for Santo Niño to come under ättaçk while the members of Vendetta and the people of Santo Niño were in a celebratory mood, complacent to a fault.
Recall that Javier and his group stormed Santo Niño to abduct able-bodied men to use as workers on the mines and since Cardo and Vendetta couldn’t fight back because they had already buried their wëäpons, they had no choice but to flee.
After escaping, the vigilantes left behind their wounded comrades to return to the town and rescue the villagers. They managed to do so, with Cardo going head-to-head with Javier before handing him over to the victimized people of Santo Niño to deal with him drastically. Romulo took on Baldo and showed him who’s boss.
Meanwhile, Delfin, Alyana, Diana, Bubbles and the wounded members of Vendetta who had been left in the safe house in the mountains suddenly and unwisely decided to return to Santo Niño to help their companions.
They encountered Homer’s group and Diana and Bubbles were captured. When Romulo comes to learn of the fate of his beloved, he breaks away from the group, mounts a horse and proceeds to go after Homer’s group singlehandedly.
It was one of the most epic moments where the Commander can be seen riding on horseback and shøøting his way through to get to Diana. With his exceptional güñ skills, Romulo rescued Diana and reunited with her, but only for a short moment.
Homer resurfaces, rearing his ugly head and firing his güñ with such sick pleasure. Having been caught off guard, Romulo does the honorable thing by using his body to shield Diana. After a dramatic, last, dying moment with Diana, Romulo dies from the several guñshøt wounds.
Homer takes delight in this and captures Diana again. Soon enough, Cardo and the rest of Vendetta discover their leader’s tragic end and proceed to lay him to rest. Romulo Dumaguit, the exceptionally skilled leader of the rebel group Bloody Sun, was portrayed by Lito Lapid who’s an actor and politician.
He joined forces with Cardo and founded the group Vendetta, to fight corrupt officials in the Philippines. If you didn’t know, Lito had to leave the show (Brothers) in February 2019 to run for elections as a senator, and hence, his sentimental and heroic sacrifice for Diana.
