“Open the gate! Come on. Face me, Daniela! Face me! Open the gate! This is my house! Come out and face me! How dare you hurt my daughter?! Daniela, I swear, I’ll k!ll you! You have no shame! This night will not end without me k!lling you, Daniela! I’ll k!ll you!”
Neil asked Cassie why she wasn’t in her uniform and she told him that they were only going to spend a half day in school for some extra curricular activities. He complimented her on the outfit she had chosen before sending her on her way. Daniela and Romina were still having their banter at the city jail.
Mina assured Danny girl that she would be joining her in the real world once everything was over. Bernard arrived on the scene, surprised to see Daniela there. “The court has made it’s ruling on Romina’s bail petition,” he began. “You’ve won.”
“Of course I’ve won,” Danny girl said with a smirk.
“You’ve won, Romina,” Bernard corrected. “The court have approved your bail.”
“Are you sure?” Mina asked.
Daniela started making a scene. “You can’t get everything you want, Daniela,” Mina teased. “And it looks like justice is really on my side.”
Danny girl left with her bratty lapdog after throwing some more tantrums. “Congratulations,” Bernard said. Mina shook his hand and pulled him into a hug.
Hector was upset with his brother and his men for not being able to plant new evidence against Romina. “We weren’t able to plant any evidence because there was a riot at the jail,” Alvin explained.
“We need to do something,” Hector said. “If Romina gets out of jail, we’ll be in big trouble.”
Marga was flaunting with her expensive outfit at Maxwell. Nadya noticed Cassie nearby and complimented her outfit, and Marga started bïtçhiñg about how hers was more expensive and superior. More bïtçhiñg as Cassie walked by with her friends. “We didn’t come here to perform a fashion show,” Cassie stated. “We’re here to do our projects.”
Cassie’s teammates complimented her on her good creative skills, saying that they couldn’t have finished the project without her. Cassie told them that it was a group effort. As she took out the piece to dry it, she bumped into Marga and accidentally stained her ‘perfect’ dress.
Cassie apologized but Marga kept bïtçhiñg on about how expensive and unique her dress was. Daniela had arrived home, literally crying and shouting at a photo of her dad over Romina getting away with what she had done to him.
“I swear. I will take over hell if that’s what it takes to drag her back in there. And if I can’t do that, I’m going to make her life a living hell myself.”
Back at Maxwell, Marga had changed out of her so-called perfect dress. She had a talk with the Mean Squad and vowed to get back at Cassie. She noticed Roxy sitting at the waiting area and she invited her over to the mansion for a pool party. Roxy gladly accepted.
At the mansion, Marga ordered a maid to throw out all of Cassie’s clothes. Roxy came over and thanked her for allowing her to borrow her swimsuit. She began praising her for her ‘kindness’ and asked why she didn’t get along with Cassie.
Marga told her that she was ‘kind’ to those who were kind to her. She then told Roxy to swim by herself since she had an assignment she had to do. When Roxy hesitated, Marga pushed her into the pool and Roxy actually thanked her for the ‘kind’ gesture. Cassie came home later that evening and saw Roxy still swimming in the pool. She started hammering her with questions and told her that Daniela would get mad if she saw her there.
“Relax. Marga invited me,” Roxy said. “Join me. I’m sure Marga wouldn’t mind.”
“No, thanks. You know Marga is mad at me. But I don’t understand why she suddenly invited you over.”
“Maybe because I’m nice? Don’t you want that? She’ll be nice to you if I’m around.”
Marga came over and Cassie tried to apologize for ruining her dress again but Marga didn’t let her talk. Roxy suggested that she allow Cassie to join them and Marga agreed. Cassie glanced at both girls in confusion before walking away. Cassie went to her room. When she couldn’t find any of her clothes, she told Nanny Esther about it. Marga came in and Cassie asked where she had put her clothes.
“Marga, please give back her clothes,” Esther pleaded.
“Even if I wanted to, I can’t,” Marga said.
“What do you mean?” Cassie asked.
“They’re gone. I threw them away.”
“What?”
“Don’t worry. I got you a replacement.” Marga threw a maids uniform at Cassie. “I’m sure you’ll fit right in.”
“Give me back my clothes,” Cassie demanded.
“Why don’t you want to wear it? Unless you want to sleep näkëd. Do what you want.”
“Cassie, I can buy you some new clothes,” Esther offered after Marga left.
“Don’t worry.”
Marga video-called the Mean Squad and gloated about the stunt she had just pulled with Cassie’s clothes. Nadya asked what she was planning with Roxy. “She’s my new toy,” Marga said. “Since I can’t hurt Cassie because of the protection order, I’ll use Roxanne. She has no one to blame but herself for what I’m about to do.”
Marga ended the video call as she noticed Roxy coming into the room. Roxy asked whether she had been talking to someone and Marga told her that she had just been rehearsing so she could vlog with her. Roxy was excited. Kulas came home to find Myrna cleaning the floor. He instructed her to do it well and Gino told him that his mother wasn’t their maid to be cleaning this late at night.
“She volunteered,” Kulas argued. “I’m just giving her some advice.”
“I can clean the floor myself,” Gino said.
“What’s stopping you?”
Gino tried to take over the cleaning but Myrna insisted on doing it herself to make it up to them. After she was done, Gino suggested that she eat something before she went but she declined the offer and left after bidding her sons goodbye. Kulas came back with a basket of clothes for Myrna to iron, and Gino told him that she had already left.
“She left?” Kulas said. “What about these clothes?”
“Dad, where do you think mom is staying?”
“I don’t know. But she shouldn’t have left early.”
Myrna arrived back at where she was staying (a small cottage) and a woman told her that she had to pay up because her debts were piling up.
“Mom.” Myrna came out to find Gino and Jude standing there with their father. She asked what they were doing there and Gino hugged her, crying over her living condition. Myrna told him that it was just temporary until she got a stable job.
Gino turned to Kulas. “Dad, please. Let mom stay with us. Please. I’m begging you.”
“Alright,” Kulas agreed after a while. “You can stay with us.”
“Thank you.” Gino hugged his mother again as Jude looked on sadly. Bernard took Cassie to visit her mother in jail. Cassie was glad that her mother would be out soon. She thanked Bernard for all his help. Bernard then reminded Romina that her bail was just temporary since the case wasn’t over yet.
“I won’t forget,” Mina said. “But for now, I want to make use of this opportunity to be with my daughter again. Cassie, we’ll be together again. Everything will go back to normal.”
Cassie smiled and Bernard looked on gladly as mother and daughter hugged. The next morning, Carlos left for work after having breakfast with Marga and Roxanne. There was no school since the teachers had a seminar. “What will we be doing today?” Roxy asked. “Is the rest of the squad coming over?”
“No. It’s just us. I want to get to know you. You want to join my group, right?”
“Of course, Marga.”
“Then it’s just right to test you.”
“Test?”
“Yes. I have to make sure of your loyalty. Is it alright with you?”
“Sure. I’ll do anything you ask me to.”
“That’s good then.”
At the city jail, Romina thanked Pilar after packing up her things, telling her that she would have probably been dëäd by now had it not been for her. Pilar told her that she had also helped them in the long run by crushing Cindy’s ego, adding that Cindy wouldn’t be acting all high and mighty anymore. “I’ll help you get out of here,” Mina said. “I’ll do everything in my power to make sure that happens. You have a clean record, right?”
“Don’t bother. Nobody’s waiting for me outside anyway. They’ve all forgotten about me.”
“Pilar, you’ve got it all wrong. Somebody will be waiting for you outside. Me. If you have nowhere to go, you can come to me. You can start your life over. You taught me how to fight. I know you want to get out of here. Call me if you need anything.”
“Thank you.”
At the mansion, Neil suggested that they prepare Romina’s favorite food and plan a surprise party for her arrival. Cassie wanted to go with Esther for the grocery shopping but Neil told her to stay behind for her mother’s arrival since she’s the first person she’d want to see. “What do you think will happen to Daniela when mamma arrives?” Cassie asked.
“Let’s hope for the best,” Neil replied. “She can’t do anything about it. No matter what she says, Robert willed this mansion to Romina.”
Esther wanted to take some things to Marga’s room before they could all go shopping together. Cassie however took the basket and asked them to go ahead, saying that she would handle it. Neil and Esther left and Cassie went up the stairs with the basket of clothes. Marga came out with Roxy a second later and told her that she had to do something if she wanted to be a part of her posse.
“What do you want me to do?” Roxy asked.
“Nothing too complicated.”
Back at the city jail, Romina said her final goodbye to Pilar and a guard came to alert her that her lawyer was there. “Don’t you ever come back,” Pilar said with a smile.
“I will wait for you outside.”
“Take care. Go. Be safe.”
Back at the mansion, Marga instructed Roxy to pour some water on Cassie’s side of the partitioned stairs, and she did so reluctantly. Meanwhile, Romina had changed out of the prison uniform and was being walked to meet her lawyer at the warden’s office.
“Where is Cassie?” Mina asked.
“Neil called earlier,” Bernard replied. “He said that she’ll head straight here.”
“Thank you,” Mina said, her face glowing with a smile.
Cassie walked by Marga and Roxanne and went down the stairs. She slipped in the process and tumbled down the stairs. As Cassie cried out in pain and as Marga and Roxy looked on, Daniela came out and asked what was happening. Downstairs, some maids helped Cassie into a couch as she kept on crying in pain, favoring her injured shoulder. “Ma’am, let’s take her to the hospital,” a maid said as Daniela came down the stairs. “She’s in a lot of pain.”
“Are you telling me what to do?” Daniela asked.
“No, ma’am.”
“Where’s Nanny Esther?”
“She went grocery shopping with Neil.”
“Please, Daniela,” Cassie pleaded.
“You expect me to go out looking like that? I don’t see bløød. You’ll have to wait.”
The prison warden gave Romina her release papers and told her that she would now be able to protect her daughter. Mina thanked her and smiled back at Bernard. Roxy was agitated over what had happened to Cassie and Marga told her that they would tell anyone whoever asked that it had just been an accident. She then tried to manipulate Roxy not to tell anyone that they were responsible since they could get into trouble. Meanwhile, the maid tried helping Cassie into the car so she could be taken to the hospital. Daniela came out and started bïtçhiñg about how she wouldn’t go anywhere until the car had been cleaned and dusted properly.
“Bernard, where is Cassie?” Mina asked back at the city jail.
“Maybe she got stuck in traffic.”
Back at the mansion, the maid had taken Cassie back to the couch. Daniela watched, casually enjoying a cup of coffee as Cassie was crying in pain relentlessly. Meanwhile, Romina was trying to reach her daughter on phone but it wasn’t going through. The driver came to tell Daniela that the car was ready, but Danny girl was in no particular rush to move. Esther and Neil arrived just then and the maid told them about the fall Cassie had suffered.
“Please take me to…” Cassie passed out before she could utter another word.
Daniela looked on unaffected as Neil and Esther hurried Cassie to the car. Romina called her brother on phone. “Neil, where are you? Are you on your way with Cassie?”
“Cassie fell down the stairs,” Neil revealed. “She lost consciousness. We’re on our way to the hospital.”
“What? Which hospital are you heading to?”
Hector had come to pick up his daughter and she told him about how she hadn’t meant for Cassie to get hurt and it had all been Marga’s sick idea of a prank. Daniela came over and he asked her to go and wait outside. “Leave Roxy out of your mind games,” Hector warned.
“What are you talking about?” Daniela asked. “What happened was an accident.”
“Accident? It wouldn’t have happened if not for your daughter’s doing. Tell me, do you actually want Cassie to die?”
“How dare you accuse me. It was an accident.”
“Just drop the act, Daniela. Why didn’t you rush her to the hospital then?”
“Just because I didn’t think it was serious doesn’t mean I wanted her to die. I thought she was exaggerating.”
“You better be telling the truth, and hope that Cassie will be alright. Otherwise, I’ll go to Romina myself and tell her about what you have been doing.”
“That’s new, Hector. Growing fond of Cassie?”
“I thought you were smart. Cassie is the key to getting our money. And until we have it, I have to make sure she’s okay so I’m warning you now…”
“Or what?”
“Daniela, I know what’s important to you. I could snap my fingers and you’d lose everything you ever cared about.”
Romina rushed into the hospital with Bernard just as the doctor was saying that they had brought Cassie right on time and that she might have dislocated her shoulder and it could still be reset since the swelling wasn’t severe. The doctor then announced that some tests would need to be carried out when Cassie regained consciousness to determine whether there was any underlying injuries.
“Do every test you have to,” Mina said. “Please make sure my daughter’s okay.”
“We’ll do everything we can,” the doctor assured before leaving.
“Neil, what happened?” Mina asked. “How did she fall down the stairs?”
“I don’t know all the details. The house help said that she fell down the stairs and Daniela made them wait. She was only rushed here when Nanny Esther and I got home and saw it.”
“How could Daniela do that to my daughter?” Mina said in disbelief. “How could she make her wait like that?” Mina stared at her unconscious daughter, an angry, resolved look on her face now.
Marga told her mother that she was worried about being blamed for what had happened to Cassie. Daniela assured her that she wouldn’t let that happen. A maid came in. “Mrs. Daniela. Someone’s trying to get in.”
“Who is it?” Daniela asked.
“Open the gate!” Romina yelled as she pounded on the mansion’s main gate. “Come on. Face me, Daniela! Face me!”
A guard came over. “Open the gate. This is my house.”
“I’m sorry ma’am, but I don’t know you,” said the guard. “Mrs. Daniela ordered not to let anyone in.”
Romina pounded on the gate. “Daniela, open the gate! This is my house! Come out and face me! How dare you hurt my daughter?! Daniela, I swear, I’ll k!ll you! You have no shame! This night will not end without me k!lling you, Daniela! I’ll k!ll you!”
In the living room, Marga was getting scared over the situation and Daniela promised to protect her. A maid came in and told her that Romina was trying to climb over the gate and the guard couldn’t stop her. “What do we do now?” Marga asked. “Aunt Romina’s really mad.”
“Go and let the dog out,” Daniela said to the maid. “And make sure that you lock all the doors.”
Romina climbed over the gate and into the mansion. The guard ran at her blindly in an attempt to subdue her but Mina gave him a good ass kicking. She ran over to the front door and started pounding on it. “Daniela, open the door. Come out right now! How dare you hurt Cassie?! Daniela, I said open the door!”
Out of nowhere, a dog came yapping and barking and Romina took to her heels and made a quick escape out of the mansion. A phone call came in just then. “Hello, Neil.”
“Cassie’s awake, Romina. She’s looking for you.”
“Okay. I’ll be right there.”
At home, Roxy apologized to her father again for the situation they were in. Hector was still upset. “It’s Marga’s fault. And you’d do everything that brat says?”
“Marga said it was just a little prank on Cassie,” Roxy wailed.
“A little prank? I know you admire that girl. Are you going to do everything she says? Are you stüpïd? Use your brain next time!”
“I will.”
“If only you have one. Cassie’s at the hospital. And to them, you’re her sister. How are you going to explain yourself?”
“Don’t worry, papa. I’ll tell them what happened.”
“If I didn’t need you right now, you’d be on a flight back to the province.”
“I’m so sorry,” Roxy sobbed as she held onto her father.
“Don’t ever do anything like that again. Go up to your room. And don’t let me catch you using your phone.”
After Roxy left, Alvin came in and told him that they had a problem.
“What?” Hector asked.
“Romina’s out of prison.”
“When it rains, it pours,” Hector grumbled. “If she finds out what happened, she’ll go nuts.”
“What should we do with Daniela? She’s defending her daughter. What if they blame everything on my niece?”
“I will never allow them to pin the blame on Roxanne.”
Romina arrived back at the hospital and reunited with her daughter. “How are you feeling, baby?”
“I’m better, mamma,” Cassie sobbed. “Especially since you’re here now. I’m so happy you’re finally here with me.”
“Don’t worry, Cassie. I’ll make sure you won’t go back there again. And I will never leave you again. I promise, because I don’t know what I’d do if something happened to you again. I already lost your father. I can’t bear the thought of losing you as well.”
At the mansion, Daniela was telling her daughter that people like Romina were greedy, and she would eat them alive if they didn’t find a way to fight back. Esther came in and greeted her with a släp. “How could you do this, Daniela?”
A shocked Daniela sent Marga to her room. “Where’s your conscience?” Esther asked. “Has your heart turned into stone?”
“Nanny, it was an accident,” Danny girl wailed. “I had nothing to do with that.”
“An accident? Cassie’s fall may have been an accident, Daniela. But when you didn’t take her to the hospital right away, when you just let her grimace in pain, when you let a dog ättaçk Romina, those weren’t accidents.”
“And it wasn’t enough, Nanny. Not after everything Romina has done to me. She k!lled my dad. She deserves to suffer.”
“I don’t know you anymore, Daniela. Are you still that girl I raised?”
“Go ahead. Take her side. You and dad are the same.”
“I don’t have to choose sides, Daniela. Because I only stand for what is right. In this situation, it’s clear to the both of us that you’re in the wrong.” Esther walked away and Daniela placed a hand on her battered cheek, crying.
At Maxwell, Kristoff overheard Marga’s conversation with the Mean Squad about Cassie’s accident and confronted her. “So you’re the reason Cassie’s absent. You know how important school is for her, Marga. But you still did something to hold her back.”
“Kristoff, you don’t know what happened. What happened to Cassie was an accident.”
“I want to believe you, Marga. But enough things have happened to make me realize that I shouldn’t trust you anymore.”
“I may be a bad person but I’m not that evil. I didn’t want that to happen to Cassie.”
“Well, I hope you can prove to me that you’re not that evil.” Kristoff walked away and Marga ran after him.
Carlos asked his wife about what had happened and Daniela told him that it had been an accident and yet they were still pinning the blame on her. She saw Esther and some maids carrying some things outside and she asked where they were taking them to. “I’m just bringing Romina her belongings, Mrs. Daniela,” Esther explained.
After Esther left, Carlos told his wife that Romina wouldn’t give up easily since her father had left the mansion to her. “She can try. But I won’t let anyone take anything from me again,” Danny girl declared. “She and her bästärd child. They’ve already taken enough.”
Carlos looked on dumbly. Cassie was still in the hospital bed, surrounded by her løvëd ones. She told her mother that they had to go back to the mansion because they couldn’t leave it after everything Daniela had done to them.
“Cassie…” Mina admonished.
“Ma, I overheard Daniela talking to Roxanne’s uncle. I think they planned for you to land in jail. If we leave, we’ll never uncover the truth.”
“I understand how you feel about this, Cassie, but I need to ensure your safety first.”
“But ma, daddy left the house to us. Why are we the ones leaving?”
“We’re not leaving for good, Cassie. I just can’t have you living in the same house as Daniela.”
“But where will we live?” Neil asked.
“I can help you look for a new house,” Bernard offered. “If that’s alright.”
“No, thank you, Bernard,” Mina said.
“But where will you live?”
“I’ll find a place where we can be safe. But before that, there’s something I need to do.”
