You bästärd! Why did you do it? I treated you like a friend. But you abused me. I trusted you when you were the man who took advantage of me! You’re a liar! I won’t let you soil my dignity again. I’ll prove to everyone that you’re a lying bästärd! You disgusting animal!”
The chief told Romina that her abductor could have used a fake or unregistered plate number since it wasn’t in the system. Mina asked him to check the license plate carefully. “Take a look. Could this be the letter E instead of F?”
Cassie was sitting in bed when she received a video call on her phone. It was Kristoff. She asked why he had video-called her and Kristoff said he couldn’t sleep. “What about you?” Kristoff asked.
“Same,” Cassie replied.
“Something wrong?”
“I just can’t understand daddy. His suspicious about Mr. Vin. He’s been my friend and he even helped me and Marga when we were kidñäpped.”
“Still, your dad wouldn’t suspect him for no reason. He’s a reasonable man. The decisions he makes are for your own good.”
“Yeah, you’re right. I just don’t want Mr. Vin to think I’m judging him.”
“If he’s really your friend then he’ll understand. It’s temporary, right? Until he clears his name.”
Cassie smiled. “Good point. Thanks again. I’m glad I have a friend to confide in.”
“Anytime. I’m always here for you.”
After the video call, Kristoff texted Marga. “What will be a good gift to cheer a girl up?”
“IDK,” Marga replied. “Flowers?”
“Okay. Thanks.”
Romina arrived home and told Robert that the police were tracing the new license plate number to see if there was a match. As Cassie eavesdropped from where she stood up the stairs, Robert told Mina that he was still suspicious of Alvin even though he had saved his life. Mina said that nothing had been proven yet. “Why did Alvin’s daughter show up all of a sudden?” Robert asked. “Not to mention his brother. Doesn’t it seem too convenient? I think it would be best if I had a conversation with Maxwell’s principal and give her Alvin’s criminal record. It’ll help protect Cassie and Marga.”
“Okay. If that’s what you think is best.”
As Cassie went back to her room, Mina had a flashback of the encounter at Alvin’s place. “Robert, Alvin’s leg was injured, right?” she asked. “Do you think he’s connected to Mrs. Myrna? Could they be the ones blackmailing us?”
“That’s what I want to know.”
Alvin was worried that Roxanne wouldn’t be able to pull off her deceptive role as his daughter, and Hector told him that his daughter wouldn’t be in such a mess if only he had fixed his relationship with Cassie. “My daughter’s future’s on the line here,” Hector warned. ” She knows what’s at stake. Do you? You better not mess this up.”
Romina met up with Myrna and asked her about Alvin and Hector. Myrna said she didn’t know them and neither did she have any accomplices. Mina didn’t believe her and Myrna told her that she had no reason to lie to her and she had nothing to do with her räpë case. “If you’re telling the truth, then why is there another man?” Mina asked. “What is his motive? How is he connected to all this?”
At Maxwell, Cassie sat at a table with some books. She got up to leave as soon as Alvin approached her. Alvin stopped. “Where are you going to?” he asked.
“Oh, I just forgot something,” Cassie claimed.
“Can we talk about what happened between me and your dad? I don’t wanna lose our friendship. I already proved that I’m telling the truth, right?”
“I’m really sorry, Mr. Vin. But I just want to follow what my dad said to avoid trouble. Let’s not talk for now.”
“Is that the case?”
“I’m really sorry. But now that you’ve reunited with Roxanne, maybe you should be spending more time with her.”
“I hope you believe I’m not a bad person.”
“I’m sorry but I have to go.” Cassie walked away. Alvin kicked a table angrily and Cassie turned and asked if he was okay, a dumbfounded look on her face. Kristoff stood by Cassie’s locker with some flowers. Robert came up and Kristoff told him that today was their teacher’s birthday and the flowers was a gift from the class.
“That’s nice,” Robert complimented. “I’m sure she’ll appreciate it.” Robert then left with the head of maintenance. At the maintenance office, Alvin argued that he had done nothing wrong to be fired from his job, and Robert told him that it would be better if he didn’t work there because of his criminal records since the school was filled with innocent children.
“That’s how it is?” Alvin asked. “Because of my past I have no chance at a new start?”
“If you’re worried about finding a new job,” Robert began. “Then I’ll help. I’ll personally endorse you. You were jailed because of illegal drugs. You shouldn’t be here.”
“You’re just scared your daughter’s becoming independent,” Alvin said. “You can no longer control her. She’s starting to trust other people besides you.”
“Good. You’ve finally shown your true colors. This discussion is over.”
“Don’t try to deny it. You’re a liar. You’ve been lying to your own daughter her whole life.”
The head of maintenance gave a signal and some security guards escorted Alvin out. Hector ordered his men to find the person who had been going around asking questions about him. Roxy came in and asked if he had any enemies and Hector told her to forget whatever she just heard.
“I’m serious,” Roxy said. “Just tell me if you need anything.”
“You’ve already been a great help to me,” Hector said. “My baby girl’s a young woman now.”
“It’s not baby girl,” Roxy argued. “Call me Roxanne from now on.”
“No. You’ll always be my baby girl.”
Carlos and Daniela went for couples therapy and they both shared their experiences, and the therapist counseled them. When the session was over, they both thanked each other for doing it. “From now on, we’ll be honest with each other,” Carlos said. “No more secrets, okay? We need to trust each other so that we can make our family whole again.”
“I agree,” Danny girl said. After Carlos left, Daniela received a phone call and she answered it annoyingly. “What now?”
“Do you know what your dad did to me?” Alvin complained. “He had me fired from Maxwell.”
“So? I’m not the one who handles your severance pay. Go to HR and file your complaints there.”
“Screw you, Daniela.”
“I had nothing to do with what dad did. What do you want me to do?”
“Help me out!”
“Okay. Fine. I’ll see what I can do. Just lay low for now.” Daniela ended the call and smiled mischievously. Alvin went to his brother’s place and ranted on about Robert having him fired from Maxwell. Hector was upset. He told Alvin that someone was asking questions about him and he could be one of Robert’s men. “That bästärd,” Hector hissed. “If he wants a fight, then fine. I’ll give him a fight to remember.”
At the conference room at Camila, Bonita told Romina not to waste her time on Myrna if she didn’t know anything. Mina said she was trying to figure out how the kidñäppers were connected to her räpë case. Mrs. Galvez came in and asked to have a brief private talk with Mina. On her way out, Mina told Bonita to call the others so they can begin the meeting as soon as she got back.
Daniela entered the conference room and asked about Romina. Bonita told her that she was having a talk outside with Mrs. Galvez. Daniela then sat down to wait for the others as Bonita left the room. After a while, Romina’s phone rang and Daniela picked up. “Hello.”
“Mrs. Mondragon,” said the chief of police.
“I’m sorry, Mrs. Mondragon isn’t here. This is her secretary. What is this about?”
“I have an update on her case.”
“Oh, you can tell me and I’ll let her know about it later.”
“We already found the car from the CCTV footage. We’re going to meet the owner to confirm.”
“Okay. Thank you for the update.” Danny girl hanged up and left the room to call Alvin. “The police just called Romina. They have an update on the car seen on the CCTV camera. You’re lucky I answered the call. Do you know anything?”
“Damn it. I know that.”
“What you gonna do?”
“I’ll take care of it.”
After the call, Alvin told his brother that the police had found the car he had used back then. Hector asked him to call the owner and Alvin said that it had been years and he didn’t have his number. “You idïøt,” Hector said. “What are you still doing here then? Go to him. Hurry up.”
At Maxwell, the students were laughing as Marga was taking out some trash. Kristoff came over and asked what she was doing and Marga told him that it was part of her punishment. Kristoff offered to help but Marga insisted on doing it herself. Kristoff smiled. “I’m glad you find it funny,” Marga said.
“Well I’m just surprised,” Kristoff said.
“Well, they heard that I saved Cassie so the disciplinary committee decided to give me another chance. I’m under probation.”
“I’m happy for you, Marga. They’re right to give you another chance. I can see that you’re really trying to change.”
LJ told Cassie that Mr. Vin had been fired and the guards had escorted him outside. Fatima asked Cassie whether she had any idea as to why Alvin had been fired. Marga told Kristoff that she was trying to change because of her parents’ efforts to reconcile with each other and she didn’t want to add to their problems.
Kristoff told her that she could reach out to him if she was having a hard time with anything and Marga thanked him. Kulas brought Carlos some food at Primarosa. Carlos told him that there was no need and the only thing he wanted him to do was to go and ask Romina for forgiveness.
“I’m hesitant,” Kulas said. “You know she’s really mad at me right now.”
“Dad, if you’re serious then prove it to me. Just do it.”
“The truth is, I don’t know how.”
“I can go with you if you want. Let’s talk to her so all these problems would end.”
Back at Camila, Romina congratulated the employees for the good proposals they had submitted. A phone call came in a moment later and Daniela eyed her from where she sat.
“Hello,” Mina said.
“Mrs. Mondragon,” the chief began. “Our team is on the way to the house of the owner of the car seen on the CCTV.”
“Please send me the full address. I will be there.”
Daniela tried to stall Romina as she tried to leave. Robert joined them and told Mina that he had spoken to the investigator. He asked whether she really wanted to go and Mina said she had already made up her mind. “I want to put an end to the case myself,” Mina declared.
“Not only you,” Robert said. “But the two of us. Let’s go.”
Daniela hurried out and called Alvin on phone. “Okay. I’m already near the house,” Alvin said.
“Remember what’s at stake here. Don’t let the police find him.”
Romina was nervous and agitated during the drive and Robert took her hand and assured her that things would be fine. Alvin pounded on a gate and a woman came out. He asked whether Jonathan was around. The woman took him in and after a few exchange of pleasantries, Alvin asked again about Jonathan’s whereabouts.
“He just left before you came,” the woman said. “He went out to buy something. Just wait for him here.”
“Can I get his number? I need to talk to him about something important, and I’m also in a hurry.”
A car stopped outside a few seconds later and a middle aged man stepped out. Inside the room, the woman pointed out Jonathan and Alvin started walking out to talk to him. “Jonathan!” he called out.
“Alvin?”
The police arrived just then and Alvin ran off through the back door.
“Are you Jonathan Garcia?” the chief asked.
“Yes. What’s this about?”
“We’re inviting you to the station to answer a few questions.”
“About what, chief?”
Alvin had made his way outside. He hid behind some trees and watched for a while before running off. Romina and Robert came over and Jonathan asked what it was about.
“It’s about my räpë case,” Mina said.
Kristoff tried to catch up with Cassie to give her the flowers but he was disappointed when she left with her bodyguards. Marga came over and Kristoff told her that the flowers were for Miss Sarmiento, a teacher but she wasn’t in school today. Kristoff then gave the flowers to Marga and left. Marga was smiling to herself when the Mean Squad came over.
“Kristoff should have used a better alibi,” Nadya teased.
“There’s Miss Sarmiento,” Nica pointed out.
“Looks like someone has a crush on you,” Nadya said. “Those flowers were definitely for you.”
Daniela drove Marga home. Marga told her mother about how Kristoff had been nervous about giving her the flowers, adding that she wouldn’t turn him down. Marga asked if everything was okay and Danny girl said she was just tired with work. Marga suggested that she learn how to drive so she can drive her to and from work to lessen her stress.
“You’re too young,” Daniela said.
“Mommy, my other classmates already know how to drive,” Marga argued. “I just want to help.”
“Okay. I’ll teach you on the weekend. Just be my baby for a little longer. You’re growing up way too fast. You already have a suitor. You’ll be independent in no time.”
“Mommy, I will always be your baby.” Marga gestured with the flowers. “And don’t worry about this. I know my priorities. There’s still so much I want to achieve in life.”
Daniela then had a phone call but she rejected it nervously and told Marga that it wasn’t important. The chief interrogated Jonathan at the station while Romina and Robert watched through the glass window. The chief told Jonathan that they were looking for a suspect in Romina’s räpë case and that person had used his car. Jonathan said he knew nothing about it because he was a married man and he had a family. Robert and Mina came in as the chief showed him a still photo of Mina being abducted, asking if it was him.
“No, chief,” Jonathan replied. “I’ve never been to that area.”
Mina looked wounded. “That was the car used by my räpïst,” she said. “If you’re innocent, then prove it.”
“You are the registered owner of the car used,” the chief added. “You’re the main suspect. You could go to jail.”
“Wait, chief. What month did that happen?” Jonathan asked worriedly.
The chief went through some files. “May. It happened in may.”
“There’s only one person I trusted enough to lend my car to. I’ve been friends with him for years.”
“Who is it?”
“Alvin. Maybe he’s the one you’re looking for. I saw him in my house before all of you arrived.”
Mina was devastated. “Alvin?”
“Yes,” Jonathan confirmed. “It’s Alvin Mangubat.”
Alvin called Daniela and told her that the police had already found the person he borrowed the car from. He asked for some money so he could go into hiding but Daniela said she didn’t have any and Alvin threatened to implicate her once he was arrested. The chief had finalized the arrest warrant for Alvin and Mina asked to go with him but the chief said that it could be dangerous. Mina pleaded with the chief to let her come along so she could see Alvin being arrested with her own eyes. Robert backed her up and the chief eventually agreed on the condition that they follow certain protocols for their safety.
Daniela went to Alvin’s place and gave him some money. She asked him to go far away and never come back. As she opened the door to leave, Hector arrived and held her at güñpøint and asked what was going on. Alvin told him that the police had arrested the owner of the car and he had probably ratted him out.
“Wait, who is he?” Danny girl asked.
“My brother Hector,” Alvin replied. “Meet Daniela. I have to leave. The police are probably on their way here.”
“I told you to stick to the plan,”, Hector grumbled.
“What plan are you talking about?” Daniela asked, confused.
Hector gave her a look. “Shut up. This is between me and my brother. Stay out of this.”
“Or what? You’ll shøøt me? Go ahead so that you’ll both go to jail. Alvin for räpë, and you for murder.”
“I like this chick. She’s pretty tough.” Hector walked over to Daniela. “Hey, am the boss here,” he said. “And you aren’t leaving,”, he added, pointing to Alvin. During the drive, Robert asked Mina whether she was sure about what she was doing. Mina told him that he wanted to put an end to everything and see the regret on Alvin’s face as he’s being arrested, and that she wouldn’t stop until that man was rotting in jail.
“What about Cassie?” Robert asked.
“I won’t let that räpïst go anywhere near my daughter. It doesn’t matter if he’s Cassie’s father. He’s a criminal. He should suffer.”
Robert looked very very uncomfortable. Back at Alvin’s place, Alvin argued that he didn’t want to go back to jail and Hector told him to stick to the plan so nothing happened to him. “If you’re not leaving, then I am,” Danny girl said, walking out.
“Why should I even face the cops,” Alvin said. “I’m innocent here. I already explained it to you, Hector. I’m not the one who räpëd Romina.”
Danny girl came out, a dumbfounded look on her face. “What did you just say?”
Flashback : Alvin confessed to Hector that the police wouldn’t be able to prove that he was the one who had räpëd Romina since he was innocent of the crime and Cassie wasn’t really his daughter. Hector asked why he was claiming Cassie as his daughter then and Alvin said he was doing all that for the money. Present : “I’m not the one who räpëd Romina,” Alvin repeated. “I only said that so you will pay me.”
Danny girl was shocked. Marga vlogged to her Baby dragons’ about the flowers Kristoff had given her. She then sent Kristoff a text message, thanking him for the flowers. Carlos arrived home and noticed how happy she was. He asked who had given her the flowers. Marga said it was from a friend and she had always been happy recently.
“Where’s your mom?” Carlos asked.
“She went back to the office for overtime.”
“Okay.”
“What’s for dinner, daddy?”
“How about we cook dinner for your mom and send it to her at the office? Let’s surprise her.”
“That’s a great idea,” Marga said excitedly. “I’m sure mommy would really appreciate it.”
Back at Alvin’s place, Daniela confronted Alvin and started molesting him. “What did you say, huh? All this time you were using me when you didn’t even have anything against me.”
Hector pulled her back. “That’s enough.”
“And you knew about it,” Danny girl pointed at Hector accusingly. “Now I get it. That was your plan – to make me a scapegoat. Well guess what? It’s all over.” Daniela started walking, saying that she had nothing to worry about then.
“I thought you were smarter than that, Daniela,” Hector said.
Danny girl turned to him. “What do you mean?”
“The incident is still an attempted räpë. And you’re the mastermind. I wonder what your father and your family would think if they found out that you were the one who planned it. If you don’t wanna end up in jail and be disowned by your father, then you’ll help us get out of this mess.”
“Do you hear what your brother’s saying?” Danny girl said to Alvin. “He wants you to get arrested and you’re okay with that?”
Alvin asked if there was another way and Hector told him that he would look even more guilty if he tried to escape, adding that they couldn’t prove that he had räpëd Romina since it had never happened in the first place. Daniela ranted on, asking Alvin to get out of there if he didn’t want to be arrested. Hector insisted that he wouldn’t let Alvin go on the run while she continued living her life as if nothing had happened.
“You’re the cause of all this,” Hector said to Daniela. “So you need to help us fix this.”
The police arrived at Alvin’s place and the chief called out his name. When no one answered, he went in with his men and arrested Alvin. Meanwhile, Daniela and Hector managed to escape, and Daniela blamed Hector for almost getting caught because of him. Romina stormed into Alvin’s place with Robert. “You bästärd!” she hissed, greeting Alvin with a släp and roughing him up some more. “Why did you do it?”
Robert tried holding back his wife.
“I treated you like a friend,” Mina went on, “But you abused me. You bästärd!”
“I’m innocent,” Alvin said as the officers escorted him out.
“You bästärd!” Mina yelled again, pounding his head with her hand. Daniela and Hector were still in hiding, watching as the cops took Alvin away. Daniela stormed off and Hector smiled mischievously and made a phone call. “Any update?”
“It’s done, boss.”
At the Mondragon Mansion, Neil received a package on behalf of Robert which had come from a certain company. Cassie came over and asked about her parents, and Neil told her they weren’t home yet because they had something to take care of. Cassie then took the package to drop it off at the study room. Alvin was interrogated at the station and he twisted the story, saying that Romina had come up to him after the party that night and she had started ki$$ing him suddenly. “I’m sure anyone in my position would be turned on. You saw how beautiful she is, right?”
Outside the interrogation room, Romina told the lawyer that Alvin was lying because she had never made advances at him. Mina was boiling with rage as the officers escorted Alvin out. She stormed over and gave him the dirtiest of släps. “You’re a liar! To think all this time I trusted you when you were the man who took advantage of me!”
Robert held back his wife. “That’s enough, Romina,” Alvin said. “Please don’t do this to me. We both know what happened.”
“If what you’re saying is true, then why didn’t you tell the police.”
“It was your word against mine. I would understand if you regret what happened between us. Please don’t destroy my life like this. We both know what happened was consensual.”
Romina went after Alvin again. “I won’t let you soil my dignity again. I’ll prove to everyone that you’re a lying bästärd!”
Alvin then said that he wanted to be a father to his daughter and that was why he had gone to work at Maxwell to be with her. Robert glared at Alvin and shoved him forcefully. “That’s enough. Stop it. You’ve crossed the line.”
Mina was still wild. “You bästärd!” she yelled as Robert dragged her away. “You disgusting animal!”
Flashback : Hector told Alvin that they wouldn’t benefit from anything if he didn’t go on with his claim that Cassie was his daughter because she was the key for them getting rich. “Make them believe something happened between you and Romina,” Hector said. “Tell them it was consensual and she always had eyes on you.”
“No one would believe,” Alvin argued.
“It’s just a battle of words. Trust me. You’ll leave jail soon.”
“Daniela won’t agree with your plan, Hector.”
“Then don’t tell her the truth. What matters is that we put her in a tight spot.” Present : The episode ended as Alvin smiled to himself triumphantly.
